25 MPH Gusting to 35!! Crazy WINDS!

Soooo, Friday we had some CRAZY fucking winds. I mean 25 mph alllll day long, gusting to 35. Redic! You couldn’t hardly walk. The beach was going crazy! Waves SOOO big! IT was even foaming and stuff!

Constantine came over and we got some pics and stuff which are here. We also took some video with his nice camera, but don’t have the cable to transfer it. I’ll post that once it’s up.

From there we headed out to dinner. Went to this new place down the street. We get there at 6:45 and I ask our waitress if it’s still Happy hour because outside I could have swore the sign said “Happy hour 5-7”. But the menus said “5-6”. She said “No”. So I went outside to check and the sign DID say 5-7!!! Liar! It was pretty good food though overall.

Came back to my place after that and I think we just hung out here. I can’t remember for sure! It’s been a busy weekend!

Got up Saturday and headed up to H&M at the beverly center. Met up with Charles Phoenix there to pick up the video of him on The Martha Stewart Show. Also bought lots of cute clothes for our Europe trip! Headed back to my place after that, but Jason called and asked if we wanted to go flying. So we did that. Tons of fun! It was a wonderful day! Got back to my place and watched North Country. It was a really sad movie! But very good.

Jason picked us up after that and we went over to his place and had tacos and lots of drinks and played cards and had a jolly old time! Probably one of the best dinner parties I’ve ever been too. The card games were tons of fun!

Sunday Constantine and I got up and he left cause he needed to do his Photo project. So I lounged around the house. I found a Camry Hybrid online for sale, so I called about it. It was the same place as a car I had called about on Friday and the guy was a total ass about it. I was like, why should I drive an hour and a half if you arent’ willing to negotiate with me on the phone. Anyways, the guy was super nice on Sunday when I called, so Jason, Steve and I headed up there. Long story short. The guy was a total ass in person too. So we left. I was uber pissed after that. Stopped at the In & Out by the airport and watched planes for a while. Headed home after that.

[private]I have to admit that I was a little annoyed that night with Constantine. I found out that he went out climbing and movie watching with his friends. And he knows how much I’ve been wanting to meet them, so that he didn’t call and invite me to go with me hurt a little… So I didn’t get to sleep till 11 cause I was annoyed about it. [/private]

Overall it was an excellent weekend!!!!

Fall Colors in Mammoth Lake!!

Have I mentioned how cool my life has been lately! Things are really going great around here. I’m loving it!

This weekend was of course no different! Friday night I got home from the gym and was planning on just staying in and doing my laundry and other random stuff that I’ve been falling behind on. But instead Sirin knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to go see Anything Goes up in Northridge. I said, “Sure!” and called up Constantine to see if he wanted to go. I changed and then we headed out to pick him up. The play was pretty good. Very funny. It wasn’t professional or anything. But it was still lots of fun. We went out after that to Marie Calendars for pie!

Saturday morning Constantine and I got up early and headed out to Mammoth Lakes to see the Fall Colors. On the way north we stopped at Fossil Falls. It was pretty cool. Some neat lava flows and stuff. From there we headed on up to Mammoth. Got there about 2 and then went and ate at some crazy Cafe which was pretty good and then headed north a ways to see the trees. Started out in the areas around there, then up north to Mono Lake. After that we continued north to the Ghost town of Bodie, CA. This was a really cool ghost town and I highly suggest you go check it out! We got there at “The golden hour“, so Constantine was running around crazy taking pics!

We headed back south after that and stopped again at Mono Lake to take some more pics. Went to be pretty early.

Sunday we got up and headed back south. Stopped at a bunch of lakes, including North Lake, South Lake and Sabrina Lake. All VERY pretty. Next year about this time I’ll have to take a group up there to camp. It was a bit chilly but the weather the whole weekend was just perfect. It was nice and crisp and refreshing! Stopped in Bishop, CA where there is this GREAT bakery called “Erick Schat’s“. Oh my god. Amazing! You have to stop here!

Got back to LA about 5ish and then we watched Flyboys. Constantine left shortly after that was over.

BTW, he’s amazing. 🙂

Pics from the weekend are here.

Adios!

Trevor Hall and Other Stuff

So Thursday night I headed out of work about 2:30 and headed up to Santa Monica to meet Constantine up at the mall by his office. It took forever to get there, but traffic really wasn’t all that bad. Just a really long drive.

So I got there and we shopped around for a little bit. I bought one of the new flat apple keyboards there. I _love_ it! I would have liked to have the wireless one, but I don’t like how small it is. So I go the wired one. Which is ok, because it has 2 usb ports built in. So that’s good news. 🙂 I also love how soft the touch is.

From there we headed out to Cha Cha Cha’s It took us like an hour to go the 10 miles. lol. Damn LA traffic. Anyways, the place is really cool. They have this very funky decor. The food was good too and we got Sangria which was fun! I got Jerk Pulled Pork. It’s Fucking HOOOOTTTT! But it tastes good. I finished it for lunch Friday.

Left there and headed for The Derby to see Trevor Hall. The website said that he was supposed to start at 8 and some other guy was supposed to start at 7:30. So we get there at 7:30 and the doors are locked. So we go down the street to get Coffee Bean. Head back to the doors at 8 and they are just opening them. We get to the ticket lady and I had printed out the flyer that clearly said. “$8 W/flyer $12 without”. It didn’t say anything else about restrictions. So I hand it to her and say that I am paying for both of us. She then states that the flyer is only good for ONE PERSON. Excuse me? It doesn’t _SAY_ that anywhere! THEN! The flyer also clearly states “Free well drinks till 9pm”. So she hands us two coupons… Apparently “Free drinks” means. “One free drink”. UGH! What an annoying place.

Once we get in we find out that Trevor isn’t supposed to go on till 8:50 now. WTF? Why can’t they keep these things straight!

Anyways, the guys before him were ok. But Trevor was amazing. I enjoyed going.

Friday I worked and then came home, went to the gym for an hour to bike on a bike that I can’t crash. Then putzed around Torrance Toytota. Which had the EXACT Camery in stock that Cars Direct told me I would have to wait a month to get (If I could even get it at all, because I wanted navigation without leather). So I called Cars direct and bitched them out. And Torrance Toyota is still using the line. “Well hybrids are really hard to get your hands on.” LIARS! If you have 14 of them in stock, and Santa Monica Toyota has 50 in stock, that means they are NOT hard to get your hands on! So I walked out of there. Then today I get an email from them saying that they have a Red Prius, and they say they are willing to give me the exact price I wanted on Friday. Idiots!

Came home and did the dishes from the camping trip and then watched some TV.

Friday night we got some EXCELLENT thunderstorms and rain showers which was just great!

Saturday morning I got up and vacuumed and then got my hair cut. Constantine and I were supposed to go to the fair, but it was pooring down rain, so we went to Ikea and got lunch. Then out to one of his friends house to take pics. From there we went to The Getty. The views from there were AMAZING! You could see all the way past long beach! It was just breathtaking. You never get that clear of a day in LA!!!

Pics from the getty are here.

If every day in LA looked as pretty as it did on Saturday this place would be a lot nicer! That night we came back to my place, baked an Apple Pie and watched Fracture. It was a REALLY good movie.

Sunday we got up and made breakfast and then went to Barnes and Noble and got books about Vienna and Prague! YAY! After that we went to Home Depot and got stuff to make another giant painting! Went after that for a walk on the beach. LA was still very pretty and clear but not as nice as the day before.

Came back to my place after that and watched Shooter. Another EXCELLENT movie! Constantine left after that and I hung out at home the rest of the night.

Adios!

Idyllwild Camping Trip!

Well I’m back, sorry it’s been so long. I’ve been crazy busy with work and being out of town and what not.

So anyways, last week was very busy for me, 12 hour day on wed again. Getting things done with work, but it just keeps piling up now….

Thursday night Constantine came over and we packed up the rest of the stuff for the trip and then watched The Journey of Jared Price. It was a HORRIBLE movie. The only thing good about it was the hot sex scenes. Basically everyone has sex at one point. Except the old blind woman. haha. I do not suggest renting it though.

Friday we all packed up at 1 and then waited for Mok to get there. He got to my place about 2 and we all headed out. Of course there was traffic, but not near as bad as last time! I had to sit in on a really boring conf call during the drive up there and I felt bad for the rest of the people in my car. Got to the camp site about 5:30 or 6ish which was just perfect. The camp ground was beautiful and there weren’t very many people there.

So we unloaded and then made dinner which was Walking Tacos! Very yummy! 🙂 After that we all just sat around the camp fire talking and eating Smores and drinking and what not.

Saturday morning we got up and made breakfast, then headed out on a 7 mile round trip hike to Suicide Rock and back. It was a really cool hike! Lots of climbing on the way up though. But the view from the top was WELL worth the work to get up there. Soo pretty. We all spent about 30 minutes up at the top enjoying the view and the breeze. Headed back down and got back to the camp site about 2ish. Ate lunch and then we all showered. After that we were all too tired to really do much else so we headed into town (within walking distance) and checked out the shops and stopped at this crazy woman’s natural food place. I had something called the Strawberry Delight. Which basically tasted just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the bread. It was kinda gross, but I didn’t want to throw it out infront of her cause she said it was her favorite drink!

After that we headed back to the camp site and made dinner, which was delicious! The Corn bread and the Apple cobbler turned out PERFECT! I was amazed. It’s so rare that my dutch oven food turns out that perfect! That night we spent the night hanging out in the camp site chatting it up again. The stars were beautiful all weekend!

Sunday morning we got up and made breakfast and packed up the camp site. Headed out of there about 10ish I think. We got back to LA at 12:30 which was great time, no traffic or anything! Although my car did start to make a strange sound when braking hard. I really need to get rid of it! I just don’t know what to get or how much I should spend!

After that Constantine and I headed to this Chinese place here in RB. I’d never been to it, but we thought we’d check it out. It’s called Seashore Chinese. They have a lunch menu daily from 1-3pm! The place was filled with asians so you know it’s good! 😀 We had plenty of stuff left over for dinner tonight!

From there we came back to my place and took a 2 hour nap and then watched My Own Private Idaho. Which was just a CRAZY fucking movie! He spent the night and today I am back at work. UGH to 5 day weeks. I’m not sure I can do this! haha.

Back in LA…

Edit:// Photos from the weekend

Well, it was a really long weekend, but very good stuff too.

So Friday after the Library, I went home and played with Gordy and then took a nap for a while. That afternoon my Dad and I went out looking at some for sale by owner duplexes. One of them was really nice but WAY overpriced, so that sucked. Then we spent forever trying to find this other place on SW43rd Street. We finally found that place on Monday afternoon and it wasn’t worth all the work to find.

After that we and met up with the whole family and ate dinner at Hu-Hot! Yum! I love that place. My Gma, the two aunts, cousin and the child were there along with my family. Kinda crazyness but it was fun. After that went over to the cousin’s place and ate ice cream and hung out for a while. Headed home about 8:30ish? Went to bed early that night and just crashed.

Got up Saturday morning and ate breakfast then went up to the square for Kiwanis days. That was fun although the crowd was REALLY small this year compared to the last time I was there. That was sad, but there really wasn’t anything drawing people out to the events. :'( It was so strange to be back there and see all these people that I hardly even recognized any more.

That afternoon we headed out and met up with our Realtor. Saw some SHITTY ass houses and very scary tenants. One place had this Mexican guy in it and we were wondering around looking and we’re like. “Where’s the bathroom”… “It’s in the hallways, shared by this whole floor”… GROSS!

Most of these were on the south and south east sides of DM, so the not so nice areas anyways. One of them we thought we had hit the jackpot though as we’re driving down the street by the old Chat Noir. They were some really nice homes on that street and then we crossed over the the block that the place we were looking at was on and it all went down hill from there. This place was a 6 units stuffed into an old single family house and the deck to get up to the second floor was in the neighbors yard!! What a mess.

Got done with that about 6 and went home and ate pizza for dinner from Papa’s in PC. After that Oksana came over and we headed down to Java Joe’s and met up with Angel and her boyfriend. I also random ran into Sarah who I worked with at Krell. I thought she had moved to Phoenix, so we’re walking down the street and this group of girls walks by and I’m like. “I KNOW YOU!” And she screams and runs over and gives me a big hug! It was crazy. I guess she moved back to DM cause she didn’t like Phoenix. That sucks. Anyways, we all walked down to the new riverwalk which is SOO pretty then to Buzzard Billy’s and ate Crocodile! Yum Yum!

Sunday I got up early and we were off looking at houses again. Sunday proved to be much better day. Found 4 that I think are pretty good. I have to run the numbers and what not and still waiting for info from the Realtor about actual rents and stuff. Cause one guy says he’s making $900/month on each unit, but I think he should be able to only get about $750 a month for them. So we’ve gotta find out about that, plus he clearly doesn’t have certs because the stairways aren’t up to code, etc. But I think it’d be worth it to make offers on two of them and if those two don’t go through make offers on the other two.

Sunday afternoon my mom and I went to the Renaissance Fair in DM which was tons of fun and then we went over to the Fair grounds and chatted with the Cousin and Aunt for a while. Headed home from there and then went out to get dinner. Ate at some place in Altoona and had excellent Prime Rib! Oh was it ever good!

Got home from that and went to bed. Monday I got up and packed and then my dad and I headed out and checked out one last place. It was ok, but not great. Headed home and spent the rest of the day talking about what we had seen and what not. Left for the airport about 4. Got there and of course we were delayed. Needed Oil for the plane or something. Then we got to MSP and the flight there was delayed as well because some idiot was smoking in the bathroom even before the plane took off! Who does that shit!?!

Got into LAX about 11 and went straight to bed when I got home. Adios!
