Leopard, No Trespassing, Old Houses, GHETTO!

I bet you are all sick of hearing.. “What a weekend”! But it’s been another adventure packed weekend! Sooo much fun!

So, lets start. Friday I got off work an hour early and headed home, stopped by the gym for a quick run which was nice. There was some really hot guy wondering around the locker room completely naked. You could tell he shaves his ass.

Got home after that and cleaned and then started cooking for the Ghetto Dinner. The menu included tater tot casserole, corn casserole, Sloppy Joes and Peanut pie! Yum yum! My favorite foods! 🙂 Jason and gang were a bit leary of the food to start, but ended up loving it! We also had some excellent sangria from Sirin! We also watched Marry Poppins

The night was tons of fun after a bit of a rocky start, we played card games and laughed and got very very drunk. I was really pissed at Oksana though cause she NEVER called me to let me know what was going on. So she missed out on all the fun!

Saturday morning Constantine and I got up and I made Banana Nut Muffins. After breakfast we did some random stuff and then met up with Jason and Steve to go hiking at Sunken City in San Pedro, CA which I’ve been to a few times before. But for some reason they have it all fenced off now! So you can’t get there any more! Very sad, instead we went to Korean Bell of Friendship and Bell Pavilion which was alright.

Ended up spending an hour doing really nothing. Constantine and I came home after that and bought food and then met up with Erick, he needed a strainer or something, so we ended up driving to target. He let me drive the new Audi A3 that he has on loaner. I LOVE it! I wish I could afford one! From there we headed to his house and watched Nightmare Before Christmas. Came home after that and ended up spending the night at home. I don’t even remember what we did, but I’m sure it was fun!

Sunday morning we got up and went for a walk to the Pier and back. After that we headed up to this Haunted thing at the Heritage Square Museum. I really liked it there! The place is soo cool. If you like victorian houses, you should go check it out. Along with Carroll Avenue here in Los Angeles.

Came home after that and I installed Leopard on my laptop! AMAZING! Is all I can say!

While that was installing we watched The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie. It was such an good and moving movie! It was so sad!

Speaking of…. Ever since I met Constantine, I’ve been becoming more and more emotional again. Like I used to be, I cry during movies and TV shows and what not. It’s very strange. However, my tolerance for people in general has been going down. It’s very strange.

Anyways, Constantine left after the movie and Jason and Steve came over to install Leopard on his mac. He had a bit of a hickup because he has something called Application Enhancer installed on his laptop. Thankfully we were able to find instructions on how to delete it and now it works great!

Went to bed about 10 because I was busy playing with Leopard!

“Improvement”

The other day I was stumbling and found this thing called “Flash Earth“. Basically it takes all the different satellite sources out there and merges them into one. So I looked up the area behind my parents house… Yahoo has the oldest maps, back before they started building that giant horrible golf course. Then check out Google. It’s so sad that they took all the wonderful farm/forest land and turned it into hundreds of ugly cookie-cutter houses.

Along the lines of maps. I found a Google Blog post about the wildfires here in Southern California. The Maps offer a really neat look at there areas that have burned, evacuation data, etc.

As you all know, my trip to Europe is coming up quick, and we all know I love taking pictures. However, I _HATE_ having people in them. A while back I found this neat way to do it in photoshop, but it was very manually intensive. The other day I found a site called “Tourist Remover which does it for you! I can’t wait to get back from Europe and try it out!

I’m sure you’ve all heard it already, but Dumbledore is GAY!. It’s amazing what the right wing is doing about this. Get over it people, it’s a FICTIONAL person! My god, who cares!

I was also reading the other day about how some woman’s husband was riding in a porsche going over 100mph that slammed into a concrete wall… She sued of course and won 4.5 Million!. Just redic. The guy even signed a waiver! He voluntarily participated in a dangerous event, he KNEW the risks when he started! WTF was this woman thinking. And she’s just putting even MORE grief on the family of the driver who also died because they are paying 49% of that 4.5 million! UGH!

This story also reminds me of another article I read in which a woman was $135,000 in CC debt, spent $400 a month on Starbucks, had 3 cars and SIX kids! I just don’t see how people get into this kind of mess! How can you be so freaking stupid and live like that? I currently have $1,400 in CC debit, of which I could EASILY pay that ALL off in just a couple days… But it still freaks me out that I even have any money on my CC!

The other night Constantine and I watched Mrs Henderson Presents. It was a very interesting movie! I thought it was very funny. I highly suggest going to watch it.

Last night I had my meeting with the Admissions Counselor at the CSU Long Beach for an MBA. Anyways, it seems like I should be able to get in with no problems as long as I do well on my GMAT. The only issue is that I’m not sure I want to be in Cali long enough to get it. Because we’re looking at starting NEXT fall and then a min of 2 years after that. Perhaps I should just stick it out, do my MBA here, then as soon as I am done I will look for a new job and move. Because I am sure that my current company won’t have any use for my MBA nor will they be able to pay me enough to support it. We shall see. I am going to work on filling out the paper work today, I bought a prep book for my GMAT so must start on that. My goal is to take it in early Feb. Filing deadlines is March 30th!

Tonight I will be cleaning my apartment, then tomorrow we are having “Ghetto” dinner party! I can’t wait!

LA’s on Fire!

Seriously! These fires are everywhere now! I heard that the three different ones up in the canyon country are going to be merging into one huge fire in the next day sometime.. The smoke is getting crazy. It smells like a HUGE camp fire around here. The sunset last night was very pretty though because of all the smoke. I’ve uploaded a few more pics to the photodump.

It’s really sad that all this is happening, but the reporters need to get a grip. Seriously, 24 hour a day coverage is just too much. Not enough changes to really make a difference. Break in when there is updates, have steady updates every 10 or 15 minutes, but continuous live coverage is just ridic. The reporters also need to be a little more put together. IE, yesterday morning I was watching MyFoxLA and the reporter broke down crying because her church burned down the day before. Ok, yeah it’s sad that your church burned down, but you are supposed to be reporting on the issue, go interview someone to cry about the church burning down. Then she went on this 10 minute rant about how the flames are close to her house. Then the cut back to the studio and the guy is like. “And she just went through this 10 years ago when her house burned to the ground”.

Check out this picture from below:

I have marked in red dots on the large one the areas that I am in. 🙂

Fires, Downtown, The Getty, Dinner Party! Oksana HERE!

Wow, what another crazy busy weekend!

So Friday I got off work a little early and wen out to my car…

Turned the key and my car sputtered a little bit, started and then died. I turned the key again and it chugged a bit and started, I start to pull out of my spot and then it died. But this time very strange, because the tach and gas gauge didn’t go down to 0 like normal. They just hung where they were! Very odd. Turn the key again and NOTHING. Not a sound or anything. So I start to freak out, call a few people, but no one answered. So I tried again, and it started, I pull out of my place and go about a mile to the gas station. Just as I’m pulling up to the pump it dies. I get gas, start it up again and head over to the nearest Auto parts store, ended up having to buy a new battery.

Got home and cleaned and what not then Constantine came over.

Saturday we got up and picked up Oksana from the airport. Headed up north and stopped at Nordstrom Rack and then Helen’s to buy me a new Ghisallo helmet.

From there we headed north to The Getty spent a few hours there and ran into Mok. From there we headed up Sunset Drive and then to Rodeo Drive and then off to Hollywood and Highland. The winds really started to pick up about that time.

Called Jason once we were done there and headed over to Steve’s house, walked down to Hamburger Mary’s and ate dinner then walked down to The Abbey. Drove home after that.

Sunday morning we got up and did a walk on the beach, everything was VERY hazy that morning, but we weren’t sure why. Drove down to San Pedro and it got even worse. Headed up to Chinatown and then Olvera street after that and ate lunch. Met up with Jason about 2:30 and went flying which is when we finally figured out there were fires all around LA! Malibu is on fire, Canyon country, Ontario, Irvine and San Diego. There’s fires EVERYWHERE and now this morning it’s very very smoky smelling here. Very scary. Check out the Flickr pics of the Malibu Fires.

Anyways, after the flying we went and had a dinner party at Jason’s then drove Oksana up to her hotel.

It was another AMAZING weekend!

Photos are here.

Down on YOU in a Theater!

Wow, what a weekend!

So, Friday afternoon Constantine came over and we watched Boy Culture. It was a pretty good gay movie really. Not as horrible as most. After that we went out to Boys Room in Long Beach with Jason and Mok. It was one crazy night there. Lots of insane boys in LB but it was a lot of fun. Did some dancing and what not as well.

Got home from that about 2:30am and it was raining out. Saturday Constantine and I got up and headed out to Montrose to eat breakfast at Black Cow Cafe. Really good food. If you are ever in that area, I highly suggest checking it out! After that we headed over to the LA Zoo.

The Zoo was lots of fun and it’s pretty big. I really want to get to the San Diego zoo and Wild Animal park here soon though because I’ve head they are much better!

I also dropped off my car that morning to get the brakes done… They called me while we were at the Zoo and said that they needed to do tonnnns of other stuff. Said it was going to cost nearly $900 total! I told them NO and to just do the brakes. Which ended up costing just over $560 anyways. Fucking cars! The place was going to charge me $100 for a new battery! Some of it I do actually need to do, but I can do it myself for much cheaper!

From the Zoo we headed up Mulholland to this really neat overlook of LA. After that we headed back to my place. Where we all decided to have a very impromptu dinner party at Jason’s house. Went and got ELBj and drinks from Albertson’s and Trader Joes. Ended up playing cards till like 10 and then went home and crashed in bed.

Sunday got up and Constantine and I headed up to the valley area to meet up with his sister and some of his friends. Went to Soup Plantation for lunch and then saw the movie Elizabeth: The Golden Age. It was a very good movie! I really loved the dresses and the sets and everything! You should go see it. His friends were all very nice.

Came home from that and we went for a walk on the beach. We’re going to start walking a couple miles a day so that we can be ready for Europe’s walking adventures!

Constantine left after that and I laid down on the couch to watch the Simpsons and what not. But I didn’t even make it through that before I was sound asleep. So I just went to bed.

This morning I got up and on my way into work I was listening to 104.3 My FM and they played “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette. They got to the part where she says. “Down on you in a theater”… They silenced it out! UGH! What is wrong with this country! Idiots.

In other news, I’m still very annoyed with the landlord for raising my rent. I’m really considering moving in with Jason now. My place is just NOT WORTH $1,400 a month! Asshole. The people on the end unit moved out too, but I haven’t seen a sign go up in the front yard yet. So I’m not sure what’s up with that I wonder why he hasn’t advertised it. I’ve also really been contemplating just buying that place on 204th street that I looked at a while back, although it’s in the GHETTO now, I’m sure it’ll just get better. Fucking HATE renting! I have to buy a place ASAP! Or get the hell out of here!

Also, today marks 7 years of blogging! Yay!

And today marks 2 months with Constantine!

Photos from the weekend are here!

Ok. I’m out. Laters all!!!
