BBQ and Kings Canyon

Wow. What a GREAT weekend!!

So Friday night was my BBQ. James, Sirin, Constantine, Mok, Nick and Dustin all came. Quite the turn out. I was a bit annoyed that everyone was so late, but we all had a GREAT time. I made a flaming Astro Weenie Pineapple and some Wonderful Green Punch!

We had some great convo and what not. Can’t wait for next time!

Saturday morning Constantine and I got up and headed out to Fresno. Traffic was Nooooooo problem, so we got there in no time. We were checked into the hotel by 3, so headed out to Sequoia National Park and did a quick whirl wind tour of the park. Hit all the highlights and got up to the top of Morro just as the sun was starting to set. So that was pretty cool. There was probably another 45 minutes of light left, so we didn’t stay up there… Kinda funny though cause there was this asian guy in the parking lot waxing his car. Why would you WAX your car in the middle of a fucking national park? Crazy asians!

Headed back to the hotel after that, did a quick detour to a porn store where we picked up some massage oil and then did a stop at Denny’s for dinner. Got back to the hotel about 9:30 or 10ish. Did massages and then went to bed.

Got up Sunday morning at 8:30. Did breakfast at the hotel and then headed out to Kings Canyon. Got there with about 30 minutes to spare before our Horseback riding so we wondered around a bit…. 2 hour horseback riding which was fun, but I got yelled at for passing and then Constantine’s horse kept wanting to gallop! The woman kept yelling at him for that. lol.

After that we headed deep into the park. That place is sooo pretty. Again we just hit the highlights of the park, went all the way to the road’s end and then came back. Saw some cool waterfalls and what not. I think it’d be really fun to do a backpacking trip back into the park. We left the park about 4 or 5 and headed out. His GPS unit kept freaking out on us, so we got a bit lost. It was a nice detour of the back country though, so that was fun. Stopped at Marie Calendars for dinner and then headed on home.

Got back here and crashed in bed. Got up this morning and went to Ikea and did some shopping then to Target. Got home from that and it was just too damn hot to do anything so we watched a really random movie called Perfume. The lead boy was hot, but oh my god. What a freaking CREEPY movie!

After the movie we went for a nice walk on the beach and then came back to my place. He had to leave so I’ve just been lounging around the house.

The scale at Ikea said I’m up to 180 pounds now! :'( I’m gonna have to work out pretty damn hard this week. I can’t have this! I can’t get fat!

Heading home at the end of the week too. So that’s going to be FUN! 🙂

Wicked!!!

What another great weekend with Constantine!

Friday night he came over after work and we went out to the Chicago Rib Company down the street. Very yummy food! 😀 After that we came back to my place and we watched a movie and drank some wine.

Saturday we got up and I made breakfast from the leftovers from the Rib place and then went up to Santa Monica to drop my car off at the mechanic for the girl. The guys working there were crazy. Went new car shopping at the Santa Monica Honda dealer and test drove an Accord.

Headed off to see Wicked after that. It was AMAZING! We were 8 rows back from the stage, right in the center! Best seats I’ve ever been in!!! The play was GREAT too. I highly suggest you go and see it. We headed back to Santa MOnica after that and ate at Panera Bread. Then back to my place where we hung out the rest of the night.

Sunday Constantine left to go rock climbing with friends and I stayed home and did some work. I took a nap from noon-6. Watched some TV and then went to bed at 10. I’ve been SOO tired lately!

My fingers hurt today and I can’t really type very well. Ugh.

Found lots of neat stuff on the internet this weekend:

Do you know what GoatSe is? If not.. Click here (NSFW!!!). Anyways, this is a really cool thing of people’s reactions of seeing GoatSe for the first time.

Gay Erotic Expo!!

Yes, this weekend. I went to the Gay Erotic Expo!

Sooo. Friday night I hung out with Mok and Brian. It was lots of fun. We got drunk and watched Ice Age and Ice Age 2. They were kinda funny. Mok spent the night. Saturday we got up and went shopping at Home Depot and then went to the Gay Erotic Expo.

It was very entertaining. Lots of hot boys wondering around, lots of porn and lots of cute underwear. We spent like 4 hours or so there. After that I was supposed to have dinner with Dan… We’d been talking about it all week. So I txt him to confirm and he’s like. “Well I’m hanging out with another friend”. I was very annoyed. Either way, Mok and I went to The Counter. We ate WAY too much.

After that we went to the Del Amo mall and shopped. I bought some stuff at Urban Outfitters.. I found this REALLY cute shirt that I wanted. RIGHT infront of the shirt was a giant sign that said. “50% off”. So I assumed that the shirt was 50% off. So i took it up to the counter and the guy said it wasn’t on SALE! Excuse me. That’s fucking just wrong to do. There’s a god damn SIGN RIGHT IN FRONT of the shirt.

We also got my hair cut while we were there. It looked REALLY cute in the store.

Sunday I got up about 8ish. Planted my new flowers and stuff and then about noon I sat down to eat lunch. I woke up again about 5:30. haha. I took 4 showers yesterday trying to get my hair to look right. I even went out and bought a flatting iron. I just can’t get it to look the same! :'(

I also spent a lot of time this weekend cleaning out my hard drive. I was up to 90gigs of used space. I had my three external hard drives plugged in and was moving shit all over and generally re-arranging my storage stuff. I had nearly 3gigs of EMAIL saved up. I went through and cleaned out a TON of attachments. I still have over 24,000 emails saved and 700 megs. I feel that I should delete most of them. Especially the ones from like 2004, 2005 for work. Which is nearly 5,000 emails. But I just can’t bring myself to delete them. I dunno why!

Constantine is back in town, we are hanging out tonight. I’m gonna cook supper and look through his photos. I can’t wait to see him!

Why I hate IE6

So the last couple weeks I’ve been doing a site design for a client. Well over the weekend we were in the final stages of the site design and working on moving it over to prod and getting it to look right in IE6. There was this side column that has the following code:

<div id="recentposts"><div class="h2background"><h2>Genres</h2></div>

<ul>

<li><a href="/category/trial-cat/">Mystery</a></li>

<li><a href="/category/uncategorized/">Romance</a></li>

<li><a href="/category/young-adult/">Young Adult</a></li>

</ul>

</div>

Well that code produced this result:

Clearly that’s nooooot right. The red bars should be right up against one another. I was using the EXACT same styling on another thing and it worked perfectly! So why didn’t this one work????

I spent an HOUR trying to figure it out. The final change….

<div id="recentposts"><div class="h2background"><h2>Genres</h2></div>

<ul>

<li><a href="/category/trial-cat/">Mystery </a></li>

<li><a href="/category/uncategorized/">Romance </a></li>

<li><a href="/category/young-adult/">Young Adult </a></li>

</ul>

</div>

Which makes it look like this:

Does anyone see the difference between the two?

Anyone??

That’s right.. ONE FUCKING ” “. between the word and the closing href tag! What the fuck! Why DOES ONE SPACE make any difference!

I don’t get it.

In hosting news, things are going pretty good. You may notice that all of my secondary domains are down. Including the Family Website (blacksforest.com), My Company (FunkyFooBar) and Photodump. These are in the slow process of being moved over to bluehost from the current server. Since they are so HUGE (15Gigs in total). It’s going to take a while.

San Simeon and Hearst Castle

What a weekend!

The group (Me, Constantine, Eric, Mok, Robert, Bill, Nina, Sirin) gathered up Friday afternoon and we headed out to San Simeon State Park. There were some issues getting the truck all loaded up. Mainly we had WAY too much shit to pack into a tiny ass SUV. Thankfully Bill brought a big ass van along! So the two trucks got us and all our shit there and back.

Getting out of town is no easy task on a Friday afternoon. We rolled out of my place at 2:30. We rolled into the camp site a full 7 hours later…. Now you’re probably asking yourself, well how far away is San Simeon? It’s a mere 250 miles. It was a parking lot all the way from here to Santa Barbara basically! Horrible! And of course I was driving and you all know how much I hate traffic!

Once we got there we got everything unloaded and I cooked the Marlboro Man’s Favorite Sandwich for dinner. Everyone seemed to really like it. After that everyone had some drinks. I went to bed, everyone else stayed up and got drunk.

Saturday morning I got up early and started breakfast, cinnamon French toast! It was delicious! After breakfast we all gathered up and headed out to Hearst Castle. That place was just amazing. If you haven’t been there you have to go! I really want to go back now and do the rest of the tours, especially the twilight tour! It’s just crazy that one guy would spend so much money building this huge castle in the middle of no where with so much art and stuff.

From there we headed back to the campsite, ate lunch and then hit up the beach. The beach was SOOOOOOO relaxing. It was just our group there and the boys were playing football and running around on the beach, some of us laid on the beach and tanned and talked and read. We stayed till 4:30 or 5 and then headed back to the camp site.

That night we made Build-Your-Own Chicken for dinner. It was amazing to say the least. 🙂 We also got very very drunk!

Sunday morning I woke up about 7, but laid in bed till 8. Got up and what a MESS there was outside. Damn drunk campers! Constantine and I cleaned that up and then started breakfast and camp tear down. The smell of coffee woke everyone else up and they cooked their baggy eggs. We got camp torn down and then headed home. Traffic YET AGAIN! It took another 6 hours to make the 250 mile trek home. Ugh!

The total came out to $100/person. Which is both cheap and expensive I think. The big factors though were gas at $238 and Hearst Castle which cost $200, food was $200 and the truck rental $125.

Over all the trip was a HUGE success. I am going to try and plan another one for mid-August, although that might be too soon. We’ll see. Perhaps it’ll be a mini-trip.
