SD Pride!

Woot! So after 2 years of living in Cali, I’ve FINIALLY made it to San Diego Pride! So, lets go back…

Friday after work, I met up with Jason and we headed down to the beach for a few hours. Hung out there and chatted and ate grapes and cherries and such. Had a good time, after that we went out on a bike ride. We weren’t planning on going too far, but ended up doing 30 miles again. So that felt good. Our goal is to get to Santa Monica and back soon… That’ll be 50 miles.

Got back to his place about 7:30 and we had a martini. When your blood is going hard core like that, you get drunk REALLY fast! So mental note people! From there we both showered (seperatly) and then went out to dinner. We went our seperate ways after that cause he was going out with people and I headed down to Orange!

Got there and walked in and pretty much went straight to sleep, cause I was a bit drunkish and VERY tired! Got up at 8am Saturday morning and Andrew and I headed down to San Diego. Robert cancelled on us at the last minute Friday. Which kinda pissed me off, but whatever.

Got down there at just the right time, as they were closing off the streets, found parking and went to RBB’s place, met her and then went and watched the parade! Sooo many hot boys! It made me feel so ugly, but lately I’ve been feeling kinda sexy too…

Anyways, we stared at the hot boys and such and watched the parade. It lasted FOREVER! But we stayed to the end! After that we walked down to the festival thing which was kinda stupid. Not worth the $12. I mean, perhaps if you went to the beer gardens or something.

From there we headed to H Mary’s for dinner. Had a great time there, and then headed out to the bars. Started off at Flicks, which was nice. There was a group of hot boys, the lesbian with them talked to us, but we couldn’t get the hot boys to talk to us. Sad. 🙁 The lesbian told me I was really hot. Some old man talked to me, he’s apparently from WeHo, he was nice.

After that we went to this house party. There were so homo’s there, but not any I’d make out with. Some really hot straight boys, but sadly they didn’t want to make out! haha. Of course Andrew made out with someone.

Got home about 2ish and we all crashed. Got up Sunday morning and Andrew and I went to some Art museum in San Diego. It was ok.

My camera broke too. :'( Well, just the LCD screen, which is a $60 replacement part. And apparently I can replace it myself. So that’ good. But means that I’ll have to deal with no LCD screen while in Iowa. 🙁

Overall the weekend was GREAT, no drama, no fighting, just fun times! 🙂

I have to work at 3:30 again tomorrow morning. 🙁

So far my week is pretty busy though. I’m hoping to fit in at least 20 miles the next three days, I’ve got a dinner date tonight, a lunch date tomorrow and then Wed I’m packing and have to have Carlito over to show him where all the stuff is at for the kitties while I’m gone. Thursday I leave right after work! 🙂

I’m tentitivly scheduled to go to Las Vegas in early Sept! I’m excited for that. 🙂 Speaking of Vegas and thus, gambling.. I also invested nearly $10k this weekend into three very high risk mutual funds…. They are 100% managed by computer forcasts. Seems like a fun thing to do, hopefully they will continue on the past 3-years, and manage to pull off the mid-20% return they’ve been getting! I’m really nervous about them though.

All American Rejects!

AAR Concert last night ROCKED!

Sooooo much fun, even though I’m DEAD tired this morning. LARGE amounts of coffee shall be consumed today.

Alex showed up at my office shortly after 5, we hung out there waiting for Robert. He got there, we drove over tot he Fair, even though we got lost. 🙁 The 405/55 were horrible, so we were just going to take side streets, but we clearly missed our turn somewhere.

Got to the fair, yummy smells commenced. 🙂 We got brats to start, then I had a funnel cake! Yummmy! I can’t wait to get back to Iowa where the REAL fair food is! Lamb burgers here I come!

After the food, we wondered around some and then went to the stage. Hung out there waiting for the band to start. Saw a Jay look alike, although shorter and he didn’t have as nice an ass. haha. I could have also sworn I saw Stephen Oda there, I txted him, but the bitch never got back to me.. I’m sad that we never hung out more often, he was a nice guy.

The first band came on, some crazies from Boston, Mass. They were pretty good, but no one really got into them.

They left, and then there was like an hour of stage crap… And finially the Rejects came on! Woot! They were great… And so fucking hot! 🙂 Yummy.

After they were done, we went over and rode the farris wheel and then left, Robert and I were dead tired!

On the way home, a motorcylce went flying past me, weaving in and out of the HOV lane. He had to have been doing 110+… Shortly after that there was a CHP flying through traffic, swearving from the left shoulder over to the right sholder and back… If that CHP ever caught up to that moto boy, he’s gonna be in a HELLA deep water… Not only for speeding like a MOFO, but for also weaving in and out of the HOV lane and I’m sure 8 million other things. haha. Sucks to be him!

Not too much else going on, still trying to plan for this mess of a trip to San Diego this weekend. Thank god I just got a check for $80 in the mail, so now I don’t feel so bad for spending the money to go down there

I found out yesterday that the CD player in my car doesn’t work any more.. Add that to the list of other things that don’t work… 🙁 So I’ve been hard core looking into getting a new car again… I know, I’ve been talking about this for like 2 years, but still! I will _eventually_ actually get something.

I’ve found a nice 2005 Audi A4 Convert… Not including the $6K base cost over the Civic I’m also looking at, it’ll cost me ~$2k per year that I own it over the cost of the yearly civic costs. (Ie, insurance, gas, registration). So yeah. I dunnno if it’s worth it. It looks so fucking nice though! 🙁

Nothing much else has happened in the last couple days. I’ve got a date with some guy up in Whittier tonight. We’ll see how that goes. This weekend is packed for me. I’m excited for it!

I’m GOING back to IOWA for a week in early Aug.. The 4th – 12th. So if you want to do something with me, give me a call! Damnit! So far I’m busy on the 4th, the 7-9th and the 10th (state fair!).

It’s the Rejection!

So… My oil needed changing, so I found a new place to take it in my new area. I found this “Chevron OilStop” and they were having a sale, it was only $19.99! From the normal $29.99. So I figure why not give it a shot.

I pull in and the guy greets me at my car. I say, “How long will it be, I’d like to just drop it off and go get my hair cut.” He says. “You have to stay with your car.”

I think to myself, that’s strange. Most places won’t let you anywhere NEAR your car while they are working on it. Liability and all that. So I’m like whatever, and just go for it. He starts talking and is like. “We’re not paid commission or to upsell you, we’re only here to offer you products that will help your car last longer, blah blah blah.” I start to think this was a bad idea, but I go for it anyways. So he starts his thing. First thing he does of course is say that my car is due for an “Oil Cleaner, it’ll only take an extra 3 minutes and will cost $12.95 more”. I’m like, “No thanks.” Then he goes on and starts his “38 point inspection.” Pulls out the air filter and comes back to me. “Excuse me sir, your air filter is due for replacement”. I tell him I had just done that. Cause I did. He goes back to work.

After a bit he comes back to me and starts to tell me that the oil plug is the wrong kind, and that they can sell me the “right” one for only $4.95! What a deal! I say, “That one has worked for 100,000 miles, I’m sure it’ll work a few more.” Then he goes, “Well it’s recommended you replace the seal every oil change, it’s only $1.99!”. No THANKS! Then he says… “Your car is due for a coolant and transmission flush it’s recommended every 60,000 miles”. UGH!

So I’m getting really pissy with this guy. He has NO IDEA what my car needs or does not need. I came in for a fucking Oil change, NOTHING ELSE! Stop trying to upsell me shit that I don’t need. I just got all this stuff done at 90,000 miles. My car is NO WHERE NEAR the 60,000 mile “recommended service” interval for these things. I could at least see him suggesting all this stuff if he had ASKED me when I last had service done. But he didn’t ask a single question.

I feel sorry for people who go in there not knowing anything and do everything this guy suggests. They’d be going in for a $30 oil change and walking out of there paying over $100!

In short, Never going back there again! 🙂

My scope today says this: Venus, planet of love, is going through sensitive Cancer, the sign of changing moods. Anyways, yesterday after work I went to lunch with Robert, that was enjoyable. Did the oil change, then got my hair cut. I was wanting to have it bleached out to the color of my blonde spot. But I went to SuperCuts and apparently they can’t do that? Strange since they do highlighting! It’s the samn damn thing basically! Anyways. Maybe next time I’ll do it. I got it cut uber short again. Now Carlito can’t pull on it. Came home and hung out for a while. Waited for someone to call to see if they wanted to go on a bike ride, but they didn’t by 6, so I just went on my own. Did about 15 miles, pretty hard core too, got out a lot of anger. 🙂

Got home from that, showered and then finished MTM. Now I’ve got to go buy the Season 4 DVD’s. Where the hell is my Amazon Giftcard!? It should have been here days ago! Ugh.

After that I went to bed… I got a txt little after midnight that woke me up. It was someone telling me: “I just saw your boy.” I asked him what boy and where, but he never replied. It kinda pissed me off, I’m sure it was just Carlito, which who cares. But whatever.

Speaking of the boy situation. I’m still pissy about it all. It’s all about the rejection of the situtation, more then anything. I hate it. I’m sick of being rejected by the guys that _I_ actually like. And for stupid reasons always! And then when I try and grow and learn from it, I can’t get a good response out of them to figure out what it is that _I_ need to do to make myself a better person.

Screw them all though. I’m an amazing boyfriend, they are the ones missing out. I just need to deal with the rejection part better and keep going. There’s less then 6 months left for my quest to prove fruitful! haha.

I got moved into my new NB office yesterday. It’s bigger then the last, but I think the view is lacking (I get the airport instead of the mountians) and it’s not as bright (the sun comes up on the other side of the building). Also, it’s closer to the bull pin, so I can hear everything that goes on in there and I have to keep my music softer now. But I’m only going to be here one day a week, so I think I can survive. 🙂

I’ve found a VERY strange thing with my new MacBook.. Whenever I play the song “Birdland”, about half way through my speakers just stop… They make this high pitched sqeal and then nothing. Not a sound from ANY applications. I have to quit iTunes, and then everything works fine again. It’s the WIERDEST thing ever!

The guy is going to give me a check on Thursday for my old laptop. I’m going to by 2Gig’s of RAM and a 120 Gig HD for the MacBook. I’ve been using parallels a lot lately, and it’s a great application, but 1Gig of RAM is just NOT enough. You can hear it swapping SO MUCH whenever I have parallels open. And I’m down to 10gigs of free space on the 80Gig Drive that’s in here now. 🙁 Those two things will cost about $350, so I dunno what I want to do with the rest of it. I’m debating between:

1 – Saving it

2 – Getting my tat

3 – Building my clock

4 – Building my bed frame

5 – Going back to Iowa with it

6 – A crazy shopping spree!

What do you think I should do!?
