Jamie, Jack And Stench

Every morning I tune into Star 98.7 here in LA to listen to the hilarious and sometimes controversial morning show of Jamie, Jack and Stench. They make my morning commute barrable. They laugh, they are serious, they tell great stories, and they play some great music. Last summer, Star suddenly did away with them . I think I blogged about it then. After a few weeks and TONS of people calling and complaining they brought them back. Well it sure was short lived. Because they are off the air again! What is wrong with Star and Clear Channel when they can’t listen to the community they serve and keep a great radio show on the air! I mean for gods sake, the host Ryan Seacrest on KissFM 102.7. UGH!

The sad thing is that most of the stations here in LA that I listen to are owned by Clear Channel… This morning as I was on my way to work at 4:10am, I was flipping through the stations and THREE of the six sations I have programmed into my car were all playing the same fucking SONG! All of them Clear Channel Stations! So I am officially switching over to JackFM 93.1. I encourage anyone else in LA to stop listening to Clear Channel Stations.

In other news… I have a date lined up for each of the next 4 days! Ok, so I’m not getting a very good start on my new years resolution. But I gotta get out there and do this, and get a move on.

After mulling things over I called my Agent yesterday afternoon and thankfully he hadn’t put the offer in yet. I asked him to lower it a little bit more, and then submit it. I really like the building, but with that woman being in such a long lease, I don’t want to be just breaking even the first three years. I want to have a little bit of income incase something horrible goes wrong! I’m still hoping that they accept, but in case they don’t I had him send me a few other places to look at as well.

Went to Best Buy last night. I’m sure I’ve bloged about it before but we got a gift certificate. I looked online and found the things I want to buy, go to the store. They only had ONE of the things on my list. The list Includes:

– HoneyWell HFD-130

– Wii

– UPS (Which is what they had in Stock)

– Osterizer 4126

– The Da Vinci Code (Which they had in stock for $10 more then it was listed for on the website!)

– Airport Express

– Strangers With Candy (The series OR The Movie)

– Chicken Run

– The Dick Van Dyke Show (Seasons 4,5)

Obviously I wasn’t going to get the WHOLE list, but just some of the items off the list. I’ve really been debating lately about getting a Wii or PSP. But I’m just not sure how much of a novelty it would be for me. You know I’m not much of a gamer, but it just seems like so much fun!

Now, how come when I Google for a specific product, the first result isn’t the manufacturer’s website? IE. If I Google for “Osterizer 4126”. I think the first result should be from www.oster.com. I don’t want to have to go through all the results of places selling the damn things. That’s what Froogle is for!

Holy SHIT! I just checked my cell phone bill.. $121! I used 775 text messages last month! Oh my Jesus! So then, no more txts this month! I knew I was going over my plan last month. But I had NO IDEA by how much!

The right house…

So, the search if off and going now. Officially.

However, it has not been an easy trail already! I figured the hardest part would be the financing, finding a realtor and getting in to see places would be easy right? These people make their living off of selling houses. They’ll call me back in two seconds. Not the case.

As previously stated, I was going to jus call up Bish. I’ve had a friendly relationship with him for a year while I was dating Adam. Although after that I didn’t talk to him, I assumed that he’d still be on friendly terms with me. Afterall, what did I do to him? Nothing! So I called him. Three times, never once did I get an answer. I left a voicemail, no call back. I sent him an e-mail via the Iowa Realty site. No calls. I’ve left messages for a few others as well, and still nothing!

These people want to sell houses, right? So why do they not return calls. The housing market is cooling off, I shouldn’t have to be tracking down and stalking these people to be their customer. They should be coming after me!

I’m getting the same run around with people in the mortgage industry! I figured I’d start with some local banks, so that I could go in and talk to them and get the full run down of what I needed to do. I don’t want to go around to a bunch of places and get “pre-approved” and have that ruin my credit score because they are checking my report and what not… So yesterday I called about 5 places here in the South-Bay area. WaMu, Citibank, places like this. I call and tell them that I am wanting to purchase an investment property and would like to make an appointment with someone to come in and talk to them. They all say. “I will tranfser you”.. Transfer, Voice mail… I leave a message.

Do you think a single one of these people has called me back? NOT ONE! Not a god damn one of them. Don’t these people want to sell a fucking mortgage? What is wrong with them! So on my way home I am driving by a US Bank and just stop in. I talk to a very nice woman who clearly has no idea what she is doing, but takes my business card and PROMISES that someone will call me back before EOB. Did anyone call? NO.

What happened to banks where you can’t get fucking service worth shit. Seriously, I’ve got EXCELLENT credit, I’m a great credit risk. Why don’t these people want to loan to me!

So this morning I go online to start looking for places. E-loan, DiTech, CountryWide, etc. I decide that I want to stay away from County Wide, due to my previous experience with some of thier employees. So I check out Interest.com, they of course say that CountryWide is my best bet. So I put in a thing to have someone call me.. I’m still waiting.

So then I decide to go the LendingTree.com route. I go through that and put in all the information. Within 15 minutes i’ve got 5 calls. I take the first one, and it’s a really nice guy from First Meridian Mortgage. He’s very helpful and gives me all the information I need and we talk though it all. Since i know my credit score he can easily pre-qualify me and get me the interest and all that information without running a credit report. Then if I decide to go with them I’ll have to do the Credit report, etc.

Next up, I return a call from Amerisave. Woman tells me they can’t do anythinbg without running a Credit report. NO thanks!

So then I return a call from this guy in Town Financial Corp. He just sounded stupid, and did’t really give me any information that I was asking for and just kept going around and around as if he were reading script. I told him he wasn’t very good at selling his products and hung up on him. Idiot.

This is just such a headache! Why do they have to make this process so god damn hard and annoying.

Just you wait till I get around to bitching about the closing costs!

How’s everyone like the new Theme? Still some work to do on it. I’m thinking of adding another layer/color to under each post.

The clock is coming along amazingly! I have the hour sections done now. One of the three boards is completely done, the second is nearly done and should be completed by tonight. The last one only requires a few more things to be 50% done. I’m Soooo happy with the way it’s coming out now. I’ll probably spend part of saturday trying to come up with a way to mount the boards so they aren’t just flopping all over the place. I’ve got pictures and video that I’ll post when it’s all done!

I’m trying to get a group of people together to go out tonight, the group that I mentioned in the last post is taking over a bar at the Grove, it sounds like tons of fun! But not having very good luck with it. Perhaps I’ll just spend another lonely night home alone with the cats.

Speaking of, this weekend marks my 2 year anniversary with the kitties. At least something in my life lasts!

Talked to my dad today, I’ve got to make an appointment with a realtor while I am back in Iowa. Probably the 21st, I’ve been finding some really good looking places in WDM, Waukee, etc. So yeah, we’ll be looking at those.

I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to figure out management situations. I figure I can do the management from here, and just hire someone when I need a movein/out situation. But I’m not sure. That means that I’d still be on for any emergencies, etc. So I started looking into full time PMs today, 10% cut for most of them, plus expenses. We’ll see what comes of it. I did a google search for “pre-approved loans” and the first site that came up with Jay’s company. Wouldn’t it be funny if I applied and got him as my guy. lol. Not really, but whatever.

I went biking yesterday. Did a good 35 miles up past Mothers Beach and back. It’s a good thing I bought arm warmers the other day, as they came in very handy. It was 56 by the time I got home.

Haven’t heard from Chiba since Wed… I called him yesterday and txted him but no reply as of yet. Wondering if this is another disappearing boy case. I can’t even keep onto the ones that I’m not 100% into, but at least like enough to see where it goes! UGH! Perhaps he’ll call later.

OH! One of the guys that we ran into last Friday at The Abbey finially contacted me again. That was a wierd conversation. But at least I know he doesn’t hate me! haha.

Well it’s official! I am going to GERMANY! I leave on Nov 17th and return Nov 23rd. Should be a GREAT trip! I can’t wait. Going to go hit up a book store this afternoon to buy a travel guide. I think that Jason is a bit pissed about it though. But he hasn’t been expressing any interest in it, has been completely uncooperative in my attempts to plan with him and just keeps putting things off, so I decided to just book with the person I knew could come and if he can fit it in then great! The more the marrier. But I wasn’t going to wait around while he ponders back and forth about it without giving any real answers.

I also had a meeting last night for LifeCycle and I am now officially signed up! The people there were VERY friendly and so nice, so yeah. Plus it was $20 off the registration. YAY! So be looking for me to hit you up for money SOON! I have to raise $2,500!!! 🙂

After that I had a meeting with this other guy about webstuff. It was a bit entertaining when he admitted he was gay as well. I kinda had a vibe, but wasn’t sure. And no, this was not one of the many dates, this guy has a bf and is older then I. It was strickly a business meeting. Ohhh, I had amazing Pumpkin pie while there! I highly suggest going to this place: Susina Bakery. 7122 Beverly Blvd (Cross Street: La Brea Avenue) Los Angeles, CA. Amazing food! And they had Coffee Marshmallows! It’s rated one of the top 10 bakeries in LA. If only I lived closer!

I didn’t get home till 10 and then worked till shortly after midnight. Got up this morning and am working till 7pm in NB. Gooood times y’all!

Oh, Wed I went to this place called Sunken City in San Pedro with this guy Eric, he was cute and nice. I haven’t heard from him since or seen him online. I assume that’s a go no. lol. Pictures will be up on the photodump by the end of the night.

I’ve been pretty busy with other things this week, but I just can’t remember what. Sadly I’ve only made it to the gym and the bike trail once this week… Saturday I’m going on a 30-miler with this group from Santa Monica, so that should be good. I was thinking about doing one Sunday as well, but I’m not sure I want to get up at 7am both days of my weekend! Plus I have another business meeting on Sunday. Weeeee

Ebay

Lately I’ve been bidding on a lot of Ebay Items… Bikes mostly since we’ve been in the market for those.. From different sellers. Now I’m not really sure what’s going on here though! First, I’ll bid, I usually wait till like the 8 hours to even start bidding on something. However in nearly ALL the auctions that I’ve been bidding on EVERY bid will be cancelled by the seller in like the last 5 hours or so. I’ll re-bid. Cancelled again! WTF is going on here?

I took the time to e-mail E-Bay, standard FAQ response. I e-mailed one of the sellers. Claims he was hacked? Is this happening to ALL these people? How can they all be getting hacked. It always has the same withdraw reason too “Wrong bid”… Then usually after the auction ends I get a 2nd chance notice… I always go directly to ebay.com and then find the auction and then e-mail the seller via that form. The seller always replies back saying they didn’t say it. WTF is going on here?

Is Ebay really that bad of a place that so many people are being scammed? What happens with these apparently fake 2nd chance offers? If someone follows through are they then scammed out of money or what?

One of them that it happened to was a car that I put an 18k bid in on. It was a car worth well over 30k so I knew I wouldn’t get it. But sure enough a day later I get a 2nd chance offer for the car at the bid price I put in. I called the dealership directly (they had the number up on the auction and I verified with google phonebook). Thier reply, “We relisted the item and did not send out any 2nd chance offers”.

In other news, I found a bike I really like, but it’s 1,200. Once you add in tax and all the accessories it’s going to be about 1,500. I’m realy not sure I want to spend that much at all. Though he is giving me a $300 discount on the bike itself! It’s just that if I get it, I had better do a lot of riding and I fear that this LifeCycle thing won’t come through, as much as I’d really like to do it, everyone knows that I don’t do things like that unless I am going with someone I already know. There’s the first training ride for it this Sunday at 8am. Perhaps I should go to it.

I’m also really concerned about Germany. Plans are still moving along, but things just keep coming up for the other two people who might be going. One of them has work commitments and needs all this approval crap, and the other needs to build up enough time off. I’m just not sure how we can pull this off. But again, everyone knows I freak out about the pre-planning on things. I just need to get them both together at the same time, sit down and figure out what’s going to happen! Cause damnit. I WANT TO GO!

Today on Digg.com There was this cool thing about wallets I want the last one that is $340 It’s so pretty and would match my powerbook amazingly. But I also found this one called The Jimi, it’s so cute.

I was supposed to have a meetng today with someone to take over this guys website, but the current weblord hasn’t been around all day. I’m a bit nervous because I’m supposed to do the first update tomorrow and have ZERO information as to what I need to do!!!

And lastly, I saw Woz on The Daily Show (i think?) the other day and he showed his Business card. Now that is ONE cool card!
