Trip is not yet better

But hopefully it will be…

It’s now nearly noon. I’ve been here since about 9:30 now. We were supposed to take off from MSP at 7:10… What time did we really leave you ask? 8:10!!!

We sat in line on the tarmac for an HOUR waiting for all the other planes to take off. Very annoying. I can’t believe they get away with this shit. And they wonder why they are losing money. It’s the HORRIBLE service. Maybe if the people who run the airlines would actually use them.

The flight attendant on our flight was speechless when we all told her that the airline didn’t do ANYTHING to help us out when we were stranded. She was like, “They didn’t even give you toothpaste or anything?!?!” It was kinda funny. Apparently this is all new because of the new owners of Northwest or something.

UGH! So anyways, now I’m at the library (the only place I have in this area that I can get free highspeed internet) where there are TONS of children running around SCREAMING. What happened to the days of getting yelled at if you talked over a whisper in the library?!?!?

Now I’m gonna go home and try and nap before this afternoon.

Sleeping in an Airport is NOT FUN!

So far this trip has been a DISASTER!

It’s now Friday morning, 5am… I’m _STILL_ not in DM!!!!!

That’s right. I was suppposed to have been in DM at 11pm last night… So the flight from LAX to MN was ok for the most part. There was some FAT, and I mean _HUGE_ woman in front of me with her screaming child, my iPod died half way through the flight and then we circle MN for about 30 minutes before landing.

We get to the gate nearly 40 minutes late and for some reason they aren’t ready for us! There’s not a plane there or anything, they just aren’t ready. So then we get off the plane and everyone is slow and by this time I have about 10 minutes to get from this plane to the next.

I get off the plane and ask the woman if my flight is still on time and what gate it’s at.

Of COURSE it’s on the Oppisite end of the fucking airport, and for some stupid reason the tram is out of order! So I run in my sandles and two bags all the way across the airport. Get to my new gate and the fuckers haven’t even started loading.

Then things turn for the worse. We sit there for nearly 40 minutes…. announcement. “This flight is being cancelled till morning due to weather.”

UGH UGH UGH UGH! Shoooooot MEEEeeeee!

So we get off the plane. The next flight is at 7:10am. I find a couple of other guys who are going to drive down and rent a car.

BUT!!! Because it’s weather related the airline apparently won’t pay for ANYTHING. No hotel room, no food, no car, no NOTHING, not even a “sorry about this fucking mess” coupon! ASSHOLES!

Soooo, THEN we find out that the luggage handlers have already gone home and there’s apparently NO ONE in the whole airport who can do it, so now the guys don’t want to leave without thier luggage because, since it’s WEATHER DELAY the airline won’t fucking deliver it. UGH!

So I end up fucking sleeping on a couch in the airport for the night. I freeze my ass off, they’ve got annoying ass music playing all night, warnings about F’ing security alert levels, and the lights don’t f’ing go off at ALL!

UGH!

Ohhhh, and to top it all off, I haven’t had anything to eat since 3pm yesterday because I was expecting to get home and eat the leftovers from my dad’s cooking… And of COURSE by the time I find out that I’m not going to be home, EVERYTHING is closed except for McDonalds!

New iPhone like iPod!!!!

Today I was reading more about the whole gay marrigae thing in Iowa and found out that it was two Iowa State Students that got married. Pretty cool if you ask me. When I heard it was just one couple that got married. I immediately thought that it was some older couple that had been together for years and years and years. It typically is. But it’s just cool to know that there’s now a gay married couple on the campus that I used to go to. It’d be interesting to follow them for the next 5 years or so and see if they stay together.

I was also reading the post from two years ago today… I had completely forgotten that Blake ever spent the night at my place or anything. I still wonder what was up with that guy. Did he really lie about all that stuff? Or what’s going on. Sometimes I still want to just IM him and talk or what not. Go up to Bako and see if he really does exist up there. Hahah.

In other news, heading back to Iowa this weekend. As I’ve said before it’s mostly business trip, but it’ll be good to see the family and friends and what not.

Hmm. Had lots of other stuff to write about, but now I don’t have time… Adios!

BBQ and Kings Canyon

Wow. What a GREAT weekend!!

So Friday night was my BBQ. James, Sirin, Constantine, Mok, Nick and Dustin all came. Quite the turn out. I was a bit annoyed that everyone was so late, but we all had a GREAT time. I made a flaming Astro Weenie Pineapple and some Wonderful Green Punch!

We had some great convo and what not. Can’t wait for next time!

Saturday morning Constantine and I got up and headed out to Fresno. Traffic was Nooooooo problem, so we got there in no time. We were checked into the hotel by 3, so headed out to Sequoia National Park and did a quick whirl wind tour of the park. Hit all the highlights and got up to the top of Morro just as the sun was starting to set. So that was pretty cool. There was probably another 45 minutes of light left, so we didn’t stay up there… Kinda funny though cause there was this asian guy in the parking lot waxing his car. Why would you WAX your car in the middle of a fucking national park? Crazy asians!

Headed back to the hotel after that, did a quick detour to a porn store where we picked up some massage oil and then did a stop at Denny’s for dinner. Got back to the hotel about 9:30 or 10ish. Did massages and then went to bed.

Got up Sunday morning at 8:30. Did breakfast at the hotel and then headed out to Kings Canyon. Got there with about 30 minutes to spare before our Horseback riding so we wondered around a bit…. 2 hour horseback riding which was fun, but I got yelled at for passing and then Constantine’s horse kept wanting to gallop! The woman kept yelling at him for that. lol.

After that we headed deep into the park. That place is sooo pretty. Again we just hit the highlights of the park, went all the way to the road’s end and then came back. Saw some cool waterfalls and what not. I think it’d be really fun to do a backpacking trip back into the park. We left the park about 4 or 5 and headed out. His GPS unit kept freaking out on us, so we got a bit lost. It was a nice detour of the back country though, so that was fun. Stopped at Marie Calendars for dinner and then headed on home.

Got back here and crashed in bed. Got up this morning and went to Ikea and did some shopping then to Target. Got home from that and it was just too damn hot to do anything so we watched a really random movie called Perfume. The lead boy was hot, but oh my god. What a freaking CREEPY movie!

After the movie we went for a nice walk on the beach and then came back to my place. He had to leave so I’ve just been lounging around the house.

The scale at Ikea said I’m up to 180 pounds now! :'( I’m gonna have to work out pretty damn hard this week. I can’t have this! I can’t get fat!

Heading home at the end of the week too. So that’s going to be FUN! 🙂

This has been one busy ass week for me and I’m really behind on the shit that I need to get done. I have one client that I have a huge list of stuff to do for him, but I just haven’t had the time to do it.

Not much else has really been happening. I’ve been hanging out with Constantine and having a great time with him. One night this week I went walking on the beach which was really nice. Wed I worked 12 hours, came home, made pudding… The pudding didn’t even make it to the fridge before the whole thing was gone! I dunno where it went! haha

I honestly can’t tell you what else I’ve done all week!

This weekend I have a BBQ tonight, then Constantine and I are going on a last minute road trip for the weekend. It was a bit of a pain in the ass trying to find places to stay this late in the game, but we found some. He’s gonna book them today.

Yesterday we did the first demo for the project I’ve been working on hard core the last two weeks. It was hilarious because GT was showing off the calendar function, which I HATE, and the client said. “That’s a clever way of doing it.”…. IE: “That’s a stupid way to do it!” At least that’s the impression I got. The new calendar is soooo hideous! You can only select ONE day at a time, etc. _MY_ Calendar you could do tons of stuff with! It was soo neat! I’ll see if I can post screen shots of the two so you can see the diff. I’ll be glad when this project is over. I _HATE_ Java!

This is my calendar. As you can see you can select more then one day (this is an early mock-up. You’ll have to use your imagination that the 17th and 18th are highlighed in a light blue to indicate that the range from the 16-19th is selected).

GT’s Calendar. As you can see you can only select ONE day at a time or you can select one RECORD from the day. Very annoying and ugly!
