Dayish Off

So yesterday I basically took the day off, even though I ended up working for a full 8 hours. Slept in a little late and laid in bed working on some stuff, which was nice. Got up and went to the doctors and then went over to the Audi dealer to test drive the A3. They had the exact car I wanted only in grey. So I drove that. It was SO NICE. The only thing I hated was that the C-pillar was a little too big and created a nice big blind spot on the driver side, but I think the mirrors were more then able to make up for that issue.

The other thing was that the back seat on the OpenSky system has less headroom then on the regular one. So I hit my head, but it wasn’t too bad. There was plenty of room in the back though and tons of room for gear.

After that I was going to go to the beach but no one wanted too. So I just rode my bike to this special little place I have and laid out sun bathing for like an hour and a half. Read and listened to music and just relaxed. It was really nice. Going to try and get out there again today. My face is a little red though.

Came home and did some more work. Had a really funny convo with MH. I broke this script on Monday when I updated something and I kept trying to blame him. It was hilarios. At least for me.

I’ve been getting some really good feed back from my latest plugin which also makes me happy. And this time so far no enhancement requests. So that’s even better! Someone did ask if I could modify it to work with the AmazonAPI, but it will already do that really. Just using the GoogleAPI. I was thinking though that maybe I will just go and modify it to use the AmazonAPI natively. It would be fun.

I’m trying to get a few people together to do a day hike this weekend. On Saturday or something. So far Robert, Than, Mike and Joel are all interested, but no one has actually commited to it… I meant to ask Jon about it last night, but forgot. I have no idea where to go. I’m trying to get in touch with Mike to figure something out since he says he knows good places around here.

Anyways, after working and lounging I went out with Jon, Joel and this other guy, Perry or Peter or something. Damn my horrible memory! I’m pretty sure it’s Perry. He works in the building right next to mine. Either way, I had a ton of fun, we all went to H Marys and just talked. It was nice being around people who had things besides thier school to talk about. It looks like we’re all going to the Boom for the wet underwear contest on Friday.

Second Plugin! (Auto_Link)

Yay! I just finished my second plugin for WordPress! 😀

This plugin takes a set of delimiters which are user specified and will do a google lookup and replace them with links.

IE: You’ve probably all noticed that I’ve been linking to the imdb.com site whenever I talk about a movie, etc. Well up till now I’ve been doing a manual lookup on all those things.

Well now.. All I have to do is [movie]She’s The Man[/movie].. And it will replace it with: She’s the man.

And since these are user definable, you can add more then that to it if you want, IE. I’ve added “Wiki” to mine, so I can do: [wiki]Newport Beach[/wiki] and it will do: Newport Beach

Prep Work

So I started some prep work in a effort to return to Iowa for a week without having to take it as vacation.

I honestly don’t see why the would have any problem with it here.. I mean all the work I do could be done from a beach in the Bahamas for gods sake!

So I called Krell this morning to see if I could use an office there. I asked for Barb first, but she’s apparently still in DC for another year. 🙁 Then I asked for my favorite person Nazanin. She wasn’t there either, so then I just started listing everyone else. I think the secretary thought I was crazy. Finially I found someone in the office who was there! Lucy! I love Lucy!

Anyways, so I talked to Lucy and she was all “Oh it’d be good to have you back in the office and I’m sure it won’t be a problem, blah blah blah”. So that got me in good moods.

Then I noticed like an hour later that someone from there went to my website.. Oh god!

I start looking through the logs and they did a google search for ‘nazanin cjb’. And found a page where I did a little complaining about her. Though NO WHERE near as badly as I had in other times.

Don’t get me wrong, she’s a nice lady and all, just that she pissed me off sometimes when I was working there.

So anyways. 3 hours later, I get anohter call from Lucy.. I missed it but she left me a voice mail. Her tone was VERY different and you could tell she was just looking for a business way of saying that Nazanin said he didn’t want me there because I bad mouthed her. I have the voice mail in MP3 format, I should just post it so you can all hear. 🙂 lol.

So yeah, Krell is out for office space, hopefully Bennett will say it’s ok to use NPHS. He likes me and I’ve never bad mouthed him.

I’ve been trying to get ahold of my mother all fucking morning. I’ve called her like 20 times, the damn woman is HORRIBLE at answering her phone!

Anyways and JP is up in Santa Monica today and will be busy in meetings all day tomorrow, so it won’t be this week that I’ll be coming home… If it happens at all. :'(

God I just need to get there for a little while to become sane again!

I talked to that Jon fellow this morning, the guy I met a Boom… Come to find out he’s an IT person as well, and we had a good convo. He’s apparently going up to Mammoth with Joel and Ryan this weekend. That sounds like so much fun. I’ve been wanting to go up there!

Haha, I love her! It’s so true though, I wish we all came with soul mate tattoos. (or maybe homing beacons would be better, that way you can search them out better) Damnit. Julian also IMed me today, which made me happy. It’s good to know that there are people back there who care about me. I wish they were all closer. I tried talking to JP yesterday, but he was very busy. He’ll be gone today, so it’ll be Wed before I can talk to him again.

So has everyone heard of the Real Life Simpsons opening? Did you know it was ACTUALLY made by Fox? How crazy is that?!

Oh my God! Tom is pissed. He e-mailed me and said he’s gonna start a virus that will blow up all the computers that use MySpace unless this gets posted like 14 million times before next Thursday. My MythBox is being a fucking whore bitch. I installed the new PVR-150 in her yesterday to try and make her happy, but she apparently doesn’t like it one bit. For some reason she now thinks she supports ipv6, and thus mysql won’t start up thus causing mythbackend to not startup thus causing mythfrontend to not start up! Damnit!

I’ve googled my ass off trying to find a way to disable ipv6 in knopp, but I can’t find it! Anyone have suggestions?!

If I can’t find anything today I’m just going to reinstall her.. She does need an upgrade anyways, I think I’m like 3 or 4 versions behind.

I did end up hanging out with Nile last night. Things went well.

I downloaded this thing called Saft a while ago. It’s amazing. I love it! If you use Safari, you should go download it right now! I know it’s not free, but I think it’s worth the money.

But now I must get back to what I’m doing. Adios!

I had a date last night, it was a mess. The guy was like 5’4” and 24, not in college and has been working at Starbucks for the last 5 years. Yeah, not what I’m looking for. He was nice though, perhaps friends will work there.
