Utilities…

Damn, Why are utilities so fucking expensive out here!

Cox cable+Highspeed internet would be 81 a month… Plus taxes and the like.

If I get Sat TV and Cox Highspeed internet it would be 22+50, so 72 (But I’d do the one year upfront for the sat bill, so it’d be like $270).. But then I have to figure out what the total bill would be. Because then I’d be paying two taxes and everything else, eh? So I’m not sure which would be a cheaper choice. I think I’d enjoy sat TV more, because with it you get the program guide and all that without having to get the expanded cable.. Plus it comes free with the local CBS/FOX/NBC affiliates…

That’s one thing I haven’t quite figured out around here yet… Back in Iowa, you use the broadcast, (IE air waves) to receive Fox/PBS/NBC/ABC/CBS/WB for free… What about out here? I know they don’t use the air channels like we do, but do you still get those basics for free? How’s that work exactly? I’d be tempted to just do that, but I almost have to have my Bravo and food tv to live!

I found a fridge today for $279, and a queen bed for $350. I think I’ll hold out on a washer dryer, because even the cheapest combo wouldn’t break even for over 40 months or usage.

I went and signed all the paper today.

I also picked out colors because you can paint whatever you want, as long as it’s white when you move out! So that’s exciting for me. I think I’m going to go with dark RED in the bedroom and blue in the bathroom… Livingroom/dining room have yet to be decided. Though I have a stack of paint chips to choose from.

I think I’ll have a little kick back this weekend, to welcome myself into my new place and for assistance on the color choice.

They’re trying to get me to do the CR process here at work. I hate the process and I don’t understand it.. Nor do I want to. Bah, it’s so annoying.

My phone rang every hour today, while I was trying to sleep. And the house phone rang a couple times too. It was all very annoying and I didn’t get much sleep.

Welcome Chris and Ty

Well apparently the roommates have been reading my Journal. So Welcome to them.

However, it appears there is need to go back over what a blog is and what the point of this is.

A blog, is an open space for me to write my feelings/rants/annoyance/happyness/etc. The writings on here are for public interpertation and whom ever reads it can and will read it. If there’s something on here which you find offensive and derogatory, you can nicely ask me and I will politely tell you that I have the free speech to put what I want here. 🙂

The world who reads this comes for the interesting tale of the life of a gay boy who moved from Iowa to Sothern California. They come here not for gossip about who I’m living with/fucking/making out with or for the latest news of the world. But for the pure entertainment value and hopefully some form of educational value, in the times when I write something semi-educational.

Again, a blog is the equivilent of private journal, which has been opened to the public for thier needs to read and enjoy…

Now, back to what was happening this weekend before I got stolen away from my desk yesterday….

Anyways, we came down to the Laguna area and looked at a few places and I found some really nice apartments that I really liked. Went to CoCo’s for supper and then took Andrew back to Chapman, played some Video games and then I headed home to hang out with everyone. We did that, and now it’s been so long that I can’t rember what we did. Though I know it was fun and exciting!

OH, I do remember buying halloween candy at Wal-Mart.

Sunday was a day of rest, as it should be. I spent the day in bed tell 4ish when I finallly got up and then went and did some stuff and just generally hung around.

Before leaving I left Ty the 1/3 of utilities which I owe.

Went to work and that was hellish/exciting all at the same time. All the sites went down at some point or another in the morning hours and the OnCall SA didn’t have his blackberry on, so I had to call the other one and wake him. I felt back. But he’s switching to OnCall this week then.

Jon came annd stole me at 6am yesterday and took me for a drive. We went over to the SBC Communications building which is fucking awesome! I couldn’t beleive the security in that place, and I asked Jon what we pay per month for there and it was insane!

Anyways, we talked about my future with the company and said that I want to go into the SA path of a career. He said I need to start working on Cisco certs then. I should get one level per month. I went out and bought a book for the CCNA exam. Hopefully by the end of Dec I’ll have that. 🙂

So that was about the only good thing that happened all yesterday.

And since Sunday at noon, I’ve only had 3 hours of sleep.

I get home and there’s a note on my door saying, “Chirs this is the wrong amount, please pay the correct amount by monday.” I wrote on there, “Ty, this is the corrrect amount if Chris is going to continue living here and using Utilities.” And I taped it back to thier dooor. Tried going to bed, but I couldn’t because I was way too pissed off about a lot of things, so I went and showered.

Came out and Ty comes up to me and says, “We need to talk.” I tell him that he doesn’t want to talk to me unless he wants a black-eye. And go into my room and shut the door. Get dressed and go to leave. He trys talking to me anyways, and brings up this website. (IE the reason for the refresher on the discliamer). And I get even more pissed off at him.

He claims I never clean. I do clean, not my fault he can’t look and tell that. Just like the other night when I spent an hour after cooking supper cleaning the kitchen and he comes out 30 minutes and continues to re-clean it. Even though it was ALREADY CLEAN. This including the MANY other times which I’ve cleaned up after them, and done many other things to clean. AND all the times which JonJOn cleans our apartment.

He then went on to say that the parking pass is in “his” share of the rent…Umm, excuse me? When I moved in, he stated and I have it in writing that the pass was a shared item. Which it hasn’t been for weeks now. He also claims that the pass costs him an extra $100 a month, or some outrageous thing like that. Anyways, I went today and asked for a copy of the lease and it said nothing about an extra fee for the parking pass. Which is where this “fee” would have to be included if he is in fact paying it.

Also, when he gave me a the bill for the utilities this month he included a price for Water and trash… Which FYI, he stated before I moved in that… “Water and Trash pickup are included in the rent.” And that’s a direct quote from his e-mail…. Also in his e-mail he stated that HE pays for the home phone line, and offers that the roommate can use it, and pay for it. However, I DO NOT use it, nor do I WANT to use it… But I pay for it.

Another utilities based thing, it is against california law for the “landlord” in this case Ty, because I’m sub-leasing from him and paying HIM rent to cut off any utilities which I need to function and or do my work. Well today when I got home, I was unable to access the Wireless network. It said my computer was unauthorized. This either means something got really fucked up (Which is highly unlikely because it’s been working without a hitch in 6 months) or Ty has changed the WEp password or disallowed my MAC address… Again, another instance of him breaking California law, since this is a utility which I pay for, and was un-duely cut off… If in fact this is the case about what happened… Which I beleive it is, because I saw him using his computer wirelessly today.

Lets, see other things he’s done wrong…. The apartment complex doesn’t know about the cats. (An additional deposit and monthly fee). He states in one of his e-mails that “It is required by law and the state of California that any person over the age of 18 must sign on to a lease if they will be living in the apartment.”… Chris is technically LIVING in our apartment, is over the age of 18, and Ty has stated that Chris is paying RENT. HOWEVER, Chris is NOT on the lease agreement. Thus Ty is breaking California law.

I called up my lawyer, who thus put me on conf with a nice team of rental property lawyers, and we had a nice 2 hours discussion today. I faxed them copies of my lease with the property owners and my copy of my arrangement with Ty (the written e-mails). He said that since I had a pre-arranged contact with Ty before the lease with the property owner was signed. So thus the lease with Ty has precedence over my lease with the property owner and I can thus break the lease with the property owner at any time.

There’s many other things which my lawyer and I discussed and it seems that I can get out of all leases with Ty. However, I’ve choosen to be nice about it and offer to continue to pay though Mid-December, even though I’m moving out on Saturday. I also have choosen not to bring up all of these areas where Ty is breaking california law, as well as all the places where our property owner could immediately break off the lease complety and evict him.

Anyways, needless to say, I didn’t sleep at all today and spent the day on the phone/looking for apartments. I found a really nice one and have put down my reserve for it. I can move in on Saturday if everything goes well.

Tonight was long and lots of yelling. Though I did get in a nice 3 hour nap. I could use some more sleepy time.

4-day weekend.

I really don’t want to be at workright now. The weekend was so nice and relazxing and I was back on a night time sleep schdule and everything. It was great.

Besides the little fuck up with the hotel, and a bit of an annoyance finding dinner, and then screaming at Ty when I had to park forever away Saturday in San Diego was fun. Though I need to go back and actually spend the night and get everything done that I want to do.

Andrew and I found the bath house in hillcrest though. I want to go, but I’m really scared at the same time. I think it’d be funny to just go in and look around.

Seawolrd was alright, though I’m not sure if the year pass will be worth it. Though I suppose now that I have it, I’ll have to make use of it. I just wish there was more places you could go watch the big animals. Fuck all the little things you can see at any fucking zoo. Bah! Though feeding the sea lions looked fun. They’re so cute.

Thursday and friday were both very relazing. Hanging out wiht people and just not doing anything in general. Not like every other day I don’t every do anything, but whatever. It’s all the same.

I did get very pissed at Ty this weekend though. Mostly because of the parking situation when I got home saturday. I had to park all the way up Alicia, just under a mile from my apartment. And I get home and find out that Chris has the pass in his truck and he’s parked in the spot. This just really annoys me because they do that all the time. Either chris has the pass and is parked i nthe spot or Ty has it and is parked in a green and I’ve asked them many times that if they are going to HAVE the pass then to use it. Not just come home and immedietly park in the spot or whatever. I thikn it’s only fair that I get use of the spot 50% of the time since I pay rent. But whatever. I was just really pissed off already that night and it was the third night in a row that I had to park all the fucking way up there. Gah!

But anyways, I went off on Ty about that and then about Chris paying rent/utilities. Apparently Chris DOES pay rent, though I doubt he pays Ty much. That really doesn’t affect me any though so I don’t care, as what i’m paying is very fair for what I get. The thing that really annoys me is that Chris DOESN’T pay any utilities. And he comes home EVERY night and washes/Dries hiis ONE TOWEL. which is a HUGE waste of energy and costs ME money. He also showers/uses the lights and everything else. Which costs ME money. I think he should be paying 1/3 of the utilities since he DOES LIVE THERE.

Ty came back with the fact that JonJon is over a lot and that maybe he should pay utiliies, which is completely UNFAIR. First he doesn’t do laundry there, second and mostly he DOESN”T LIVE THERE. He doesn’t have a key and he’s NOT THERE when I’m not there. So it’s not like he’s using any extra utilities. Every utilitie he uses is also consumed by me, because wether he’s there or not, I WOULD BE there at that time.

AND, he has cleaned our apartment/done dishes/etc. WAY more then CHRIS ever has. So I think that Ty saying JonJon should pay utilities is completely unfounded.

Needless to say, Sunday I spent looking for apartments. I didn’t find anything good in the paper though. Prrobably because it’s so close to the end of the month that everything is already rented out for Nov. I figure the first sunday of the month is probably the best time to look. So I’m going to do that.

I really want my own place, but at the same time I want to save that money. If only I could find a roommate that I can get along with. JonJOn would be a great roomie, if only he were more financially stable. He suggested Dave, who I’ve met a few times and seems to be a nice guy, but I understand he does pot a lot. Whcih I couldn’t stand. It wouldn’t be bad as long as he doesn’t keep it in the apartment. But who knows.

JonJon said he knew of a place in Dana Point that’s $900 for 1bedroom, all utilities included. So I might look into that. But that might be a little to far south for me. I’ll have to put some real thought into this. Though once you add on internet and etc, that would be about 40% of my income, which is higher then it should be. (You’re supposed to only spend 33% of your income on housing).

Umm, today I went and got a membership at 24 hour fitness. We went to the Ultra-Sport up here in Newport Beach. It’s the only one in Southern CA. The cheapest I could get for there was 24 months at $31 a month. But that was for the all club, but it came out to be twice what it was if I got an all club to the club size just one down from the ultra-sport. So that’s what I got 36 months at $20 a month. And the only club I can’t go to is that Ultra-sport. but they gave andrew and I a free one month pass to the ultra-sport.

The girl that gave us the tour was so cute though and so fun. She was new and so confused when it came to signing us up. And she gave us hugs at the end cause we were so patient with her. And her boss was a total ass to her though and I felt bad. I really liked her though. And she gave me a lead for some aparements up here in Newport that might be cheap. I’ll look into those as well.

After that we worked out for a short bit and then went back to Andrews. Ate supper and then Andrew went to his meeting. Came back and shortly after he got back we started playing FFx-2… For some reason I just could not keep my eyes open, so I took a short nap, which ended up being about 3 hours. 🙁 So I wasted the whole night hanging out with him.

He said in his journal that he’s noticed the differences in me. Yes, like i”ve said I’ve changed a lot. And honestly, for the worse. You’re seeing what I was in HS. the depressed state of me.

Umm. I don’t want to be at work right now.

My PU’s bought another batch of 700 trees. She also mentioned going to Mexico, and looking at this property that the Keebler guy bought and stuff. My PU’s are crazy. Oh, I also found it strange that my cousin steven and his girl had a child… I didn’t even know she expecting. maybe I should talk to them more offten.

I also forgot to mention that ty bought another ugly rug.
