Gone

Well… Andrew and I said our goodbyes tonight…

It wasn’t supposed to be like this at all. And I hate that I fucked it all up. This is all my fault. I only wish that I knew where things could be going in the next few months now.

I’m alone here now. Completly alone in this state. I have no reason to stay here any more.

Now if only those fucking headhunters that call me every week were from Iowa and not California. If only Krell would hire a fulltime Hardware person, instead of all those fucking Coders.

In good news however, I purchased my flights back to Iowa for August trip. I’ll be there from Aug 11-21, I’m flying into Omaha, and either Jed or my Grandparents are going to pick me up. I’ll spend Thursday night-Sunday in Lenox, and then go up to PC for the rest of the week. Then Sunday the 21st my mom and I are going to go visit my Gma in Carrol and then head on out to OMA for my flight back.

Laters all.

Apple faces lesbian discrimination lawsuit

Apple has been sued by a former employee for alleged discrimination. Shaune Patterson says that she was wrongfully terminated from the company because she was a Lesbian. Formerly employed by Apple as a human resources compensation consultant, she has filed suite in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco. The amended complaint, filed on May 16, 2005, alleges that Shaune Patterson was suspended for one month and then subsequently wrongfully terminated from her position, after she complained that her white counterparts, who were junior to her, were making higher salaries than she was. Patterson alleges that the suspension came one day after she complained of racial discrimination.

Patterson has amended her complaint to include claims of sexual orientation and genetic characteristic discrimination. Prior to her one-month suspension, Patterson alleges that one of Apple’s managers wrote a memo describing her as a “rather obese-sized black lesbian.” According to Patterson’s attorney, Waukeen McCoy, “Apple discounted my client’s achievements, choosing to base the decision to discipline not on her performance, but rather on her size, race, and sexual orientation.” McCoy was the lead plaintiffs’ attorney in one of the largest U.S. History racial discrimination suit, Carroll v. Interstate Brands Corporation, which rendered a verdict for $133 million in August of 2000.

60 Million an Acre in Laguna!

From a Warren Buffet Stock Meeting:

Munger: “You have a real asset-price bubble in places like parts of California and the suburbs of Washington, DC. ”

Buffett: “I recently sold a house in Laguna for $3.5 million. It was on about 2000 sq. ft of land, maybe a twentieth of an acre, and the house might cost about $500,000 if you wanted to replace it. So the land sold for something like $60 million an acre.”

Munger: “I know someone who lives next door to what you would actually call a fairly modest house that just sold for $17 million. There are some very extreme housing price bubbles going on.”

It truely is insane… Hopefully the bubble they speak of will burst soon.

Did I mention how HOT tiger is? I love widgets!

Stolen

Over Heard In NY Stolen from Niel

(Stolen from beak, who knows where she got it from)

Things Republicans Believe: A truthful and sarcastic list

1. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable

offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which

thousands die is a solid defense policy

2. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the

Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the

Internet.

3. The public has a right to know about Hillary’s cattle trades, but

George Bush’s driving record is none of our business.

4. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s and John Kerry did in the 1970s

is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the ’80s is

irrelevant.

5. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing

health care to all Americans is socialism.

6. Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but

creationism should be taught in schools.

7. Group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run

for governor of California as a Republican.

8. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won’t have sex.

9. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a

conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers

for your recovery.

10. A woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but

multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind

without regulation.

11. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

12. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies,

then demand their cooperation and money.

13. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s

daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him

and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.

Stressed

Too many responsibilities at work can make you rather grouchy now. You’d rather be off with your friends in an enjoyable social setting. But you are overcommitted and just cannot do what you’d like. It’s really not as bad as it seems. Focus on your chores early in the day. Just be sure to leave yourself some open time for relaxation in the evening.

God, ain’t that the truth…

I’m really stressed out right now… I can’t do anything, I’m trying to study, but I’m sitting here worrying about other things, and I can’t get my mind to focus.. It’s annoying as all get out.

This last chapter is really confusing the hell out of me too.. Fucking Frame Relay!

There’s just too many accronyms.. And WAY too many Q.* and T1.* ITU/ANSI documents to memorize!

Fucking shit.

I think today is brakes.. I’m going to call them at 7 and see if they have a courtesy shuttle… And then tomorrow or Friday I’m going to be getting my Cali Plates/Lisc… I just have to find my Passport and SS card. And find out what the hell I need to prove “odometer mileage certification” Whatever.

Fuck this state.. They fucking rip you off right and left… And I just read that California has the worst Student to teacher ratio in the country and is WAY below average for it’s income to public school ratio as well. (IE, here in cali only 2.5% or something of your income is being spent on the education system, most states it’s far higher and here in cali it’s dropped 1.5% in the last 10 years).

Gah, laters all.
