Week in Mexico and No more Chris Rock!

So last week I was in Mexico again.

What a mess, I got to the airport and checked in. Was waiting for my flight and realized I forgot my passport! So I had to run home quickly, get my passport and then go back to the airport, check in again and get flight changed. What a mess. Then come to find out Southwest got a HUGE fine that same morning for aircraft repair problems. Anyways, got to Tuscon and met Martin. The 4 hour drive to Caborca was very AWK because Martin didn’t speak hardly any english!

Got to Caborca and met up with one of the sheds. Spent 2 hours there the first night and then went to the place to eat. Got back to the office and crashed pretty quickly.

The next morning we got up and went to eat breakfast, came back to the office and was packing up when I dropped my laptop. Broke the backlight on it and the external monitor port! So was without a laptop from then on! Oh shit! Spent the whole day at sheds, etc. It was a very very busy couple days. Didn’t get home until late each day. The final day I was there we got done kinda early. Martin dropped me off at the office and said he’d be back later, much confusion followed because I had no idea what was going on for sure. Anyways, I walked to the store and bought dinner. Martin did end up coming back like 2 hours later!

Friday we got up early and drove back to Tuscon and I got an earlier flight which was no big deal. Got back to LA and went home to play with the new computer.

Saturday I went shopping with Jason and then was at home for a little bit, then out to see a play that Dan was in. It was called “The Painting”. OMG the other guy, Lorenzo, was HOT. Holy hell. Sadly also straight and only 18! LOL The play itself was good, up until the second half when they threw in these HORRIBLE HORRIBLE story plots, suddently Dan’s person is a mean bitch, gay and a killer! FREAKING redic!

Went out with all of them after the play and had a good time.

Sunday I got up and went climbing… We had a great group and did tons of climbing. At one point Jerry gathered a bunch of people up to watch me do my new climb. I was making the move to almost make it over the toughest part and all of a sudden the WHOLE WALL comes off in my hands! A chunk the size of me and probably weighting about as much as a car just ripped right off the wall! Scary as hell! So we ended up naming the now non-existent climb “Chris Rock”, So “Chris rock, chris browned my ass!” lol.

I was pretty well cut up after that and we all know how much I HATE blood, so I was pretty light headed and what not. Went out to lunch after that and then we all went to Azusa to go hiking. Started on the Bridge to Nowhere hike and found that it would be WAY to dangerous to do in the dark on the way back. So we did another hike, which was alright. After that we all went out to a Mexican place in Azusa and had dinner.

Came home after that and basically crashed in bed.

I tried very very hard this weekend to get Matthew to come out with me, the subject of my crush lately. Sadly he rejected me again, so I think it’s time to give up and move on from him. 🙁

Anyways, this week I am going to a concert on Thursday and then perhaps a birthday party on Saturday and then rock climbing and shooting on Sunday! Woot.

Macbook broke!!

What a week! I meant to write before I left for caborca. But things were very busy!

Today I dropped my MacBook and broke it! Had to order a new one! Very sad. Thus I am writing this on my iPhone!

So this past weekend was good, I can’t really recall what all I did. One night I hung out with some guy, he was cute and nice. Though no education. Saturday I ran around town a lot. Got my car fixed, had lunch with Jino, one
Of the rock climbers brothers. He was really cool, hopefully I’ll hang out with him again!

Sunday was rock climbing, same as usual. I did lots of climbing so that was great, very tired that night and skipped the Jason reeves concert that I wanted to go to. So that sucked

Things in Mexico are insane. More when I get back!

Death Valley Trip!

Long busy weekend of traveling.

Anyways, so we went to Death Valley this weekend. Picked up JoEric, Ally, and Rod then met Jerry, George and gang up in Santa Clarita for the trip up. On the way up we stopped at Vasquez rocks where they were filming CSI: Las Vegas. Kinda neat to see it. From there we drove on north to Darwin falls which was kinda cool then off to Furnace creek for dinner and then wine in the hotel rooms.

Saturday we got up and headed out to Zabrisie point and hiked from there to Manly Beacon. It was a good hike but nothing to hard core. The last part of that hike was the worst part where the trail was about a foot wide and it was a very very long fall straight down the sides!

Went back to the hotel after that and ate lunch then went down to the mines. I was the first one down and it was a little crazy. Very scary to sit down there all alone in the dark. We didn’t really get to go very far back into the mines though because we were rushed for time. Once we got done there we headed back to the hotel, had a late dinner at the bar with the girls and then had some wine.

Sunday we got up and had breakfast again at the hotel, from there we packed up and went to the salt flats, sand dunes, ghost town, and headed back to LA. Got home about 8pm, picked up Jimmy and he spent the night.

Overall it was a GREAT weekend, lots and lots of laughts, lots of fun, lots of memories.

2 Bad Dates

I can’t believe how SUCKY I have been with updating this blog lately. Damn me!

Anyways, last weekend was alright. It was V-day, I hung out with Carlos on Friday and Saturday night. Friday we went to GGB and had a great time. He danced and I talked to guys and hung out. Matthew was there…. Swooooooooon. I have a major crush on that guy. I doubt anything would ever work out, mostly because we have been TRYING to go out for drinks for AGES, but nothing ever works out! Damnit!

Saturday I did lots of shopping and stuff, hit the gym, then hung out at home with Carlos for the evening. Didn’t even get a V-day fuck! 🙁 How sad.

Sunday was rock climbing. We did the zip line which was TONs of fun! Then I did a LITTLE bit of climbing but was very sore or tired or something. I’m not sure what the problem was, either way I sucked at climbing on Sunday. We went out and saw “Shopaholic” that afternoon which was a funny movie.

Monday I worked a long ass day and then had a horrible date with this guy off “Who’s Here”. He had GROWN up in Long Beach, but had NEVER been to fucking Santa Monica, The Getty, Yosemite, Death Valley. The list went ON and ON and ON! How can you live in ONE place for so long and never get out to see/do these things. WTF is wrong with people! Then he got ALL PISSSED off when I wanted to end the date early. Besides the fact that he had NEVER been to these places, he also asked the MOST BORING questions ever on our date. It was like he had read the “10 standard questions for every BORING date” book or something.

Tuesday I worked another LONG ass day. Then had another horrible date with another guy. He seemed alright online, he liked the out doors, kayaked, hiked, shot guns, etc. So we meet, first off, GAAAAAAAAAY! OMG. Secondly all he could talk about was his parents money and his parents 6 hours and how his aunt makes $5million a year. Blah blah blah. Found out he grew up in the OC. NOOO WOnder that’s all he could talk about. I left the OC for a reason!

After that I got home and was a little depressed. I’m pissed that the Russian has a bf, who he’s apparently happy with, Jason has a BF, Kris is apparently into someone. WTF, why is it that the one thing I really want, and I can’t find it or get it. UGH! I’m so sick of this shit.

Wed was more work, just boring shit was supposed to hang out with Carlos that night, but he canceled on me last minute which was annoying, but whatever. I had an enjoyable night at home, got all packed for Death Valley, read some of my camera book, etc.

Today has been enjoyable. Mostly because the REALLY hot marketing guy was in my office for like 2 hours and we just chatted and BSed, etc. PS, I’m in love! hahah. He’s a cool guy. I wish he’d come hang out with the group some. It was funny just bitching with him about the company, talking business, etc. Where’s the gay version of him?!?

So as I stated, this weekend is Death Valley. I am very excited for it! I have a car full of people going in the G, I’m a little nervous about taking that many people in my G. It’s going to be a mess! 🙁

iLife ’09

So I’ve had iLife ’09 for about a week now and have been using it heavily. About the only 2 things I use in this though are iPhoto and iMovie. Both of which are a HUGE improvement over what was previously there.

However, iPhoto is missing a TON of features.

  • Very SLOW! – Faces and Places are both VERY VERY slow. When I add new photos, it takes FOREVER to find the faces, etc.
  • Additional Faces / Missing Faces – It’d be nice if when I click the “Add missing faces” iPhoto attempts to locate missing faces. Also, I wish that you could add the box, and then just CLICK in the Name area to name it, instead of having to click “Done” and then click again to name someone. Another thing is it’d be nice if there were a way to tag “Other people in this photo”. IE people who might not be exactly FACING the camera, but are IN the photo.
  • Smart filters for Places and Faces – These need to be expanded a LOT. I’ve always found iPhoto’s smart filters lacking and now they are missing even MORE features. I wish I could find photos who have a face but are not labeled. I wish that the Smart filters for places were much smarter. Some photos DO have geotagging, but they are not “apple’s” geotags, so it counts those as not having GEO info! Very annoying.
  • Delete from Albums, Smart Albums – I use albums, not events, to manage my photos. This is how I like to do it, I find it MUCH easier to organize. I have folders for each year and then albums in those folders for each event. I also use Smart filters a lot to find photos. But you cannot EASILY move images from the albums to the trash. Give me the ABILITY to do that with a warning or something at least.
  • REMOVE BACKUPS! – This is something people have been wanting FOREVER! I currently have 19,717 photos in my library, at 37.6Gb. But my iPhoto library takes up a whopping 51.73Gb!!! This is insane. I want to recover all the space from images that are duplicates (backups/etc). If I make edits to a photo 5-8 years ago. I don’t really CARE about keeping the original. LET ME DELETE THEM!

    • I haven’t really used iMovie too much yet, but one really annoying thing that I was hoping would be there was the ability to edit background music from within iMovie. Currently if I have a track in the background and want to quickly cut out portions of it, I have to open the audio track in another program and edit those sections out. It’s just very cumbersome. I hope that they continue to make HUGE strides in iMovie they way they have in this last release!
