So I got the letter from ISU about who my roommate for next semester is. Good times, apparently he’s an RA, or some like and he’s a Grad Assist, I wonder how old he is… This may be non good times. Shit.

It’s like -2 degrees out today.. Welcome to Iowa.
Hi, I’m Chris. Well, I was born in Iowa and have lived in a small down just
north of Des Moines all my life. I’m a Sophomore in College. I attend Iowa
State University and am Majoring in MIS.
In case you hadn’t noticed, I am gay. I am out to my parents and they took
it really coo. In fact they are taking it a bit to cool if you ask me. They
thought I was dating one of my friends and they were bothering me about it.
I do however have on wonderful boyfriend named Adam.
We’ve been going out since Dec 17. It’s a long story as to how became boyfriends, but I love him
drealy and that’s what matters. I’ve known
that I was gay since I was about 12 or so. But I didn’t start coming out tell
just this last year, in fact I told my cousin first, back on Oct. 11, 2000,
National Coming Out Day. She took it really well and then I told my friends.
Who most of them were also gay. I don’t know why it took me so long to tell
them, but it was cool once I did.
In my free time, I’m usually found wondering around Des Moines or in my dorm
room studying. I like to hang out at Java Joes, and The Loop. There’s really
a lot to do in Des Moines, and I like it here now. When I was growing up I
didn’t really have anything to do cause I was pretty antisocial. But now that
people know who I am, I’m liking it and finding a lot of stuff to do around
here. It’s a nice city.
There’s a lot to me, I may seem simple on the outside, but on the inside,
I’m very complex, like most people. Most of my friends really don’t know what’s
going on in my head. If you want to know, ask. I won’t tell unless you ask,
I’m one of those types of people. Small talk just isn’t my thing, I like it,
if I’m not in charge of the conversation. But I won’t start small talk. Well
I usually won’t start talking unless someone talks to me. That’s just the
way I am, Shy. That describes me well. I’m Shy.
I really suck at a lot of things, I’m not artistic, I can’t do music, I hate
writing, I dislike phones, I don’t know what it is about them, but I don’t
like talking on them. But at the things I can do, I do them well. I like computers,
I’m a geek. People tell me I’m not the "geeky" type, but I spend
a lot of time around computers and working on them.
I’m also really good when it comes to the outdoors, now granted, I can’t
name 10 types of trees, or point out 10 different plants and tell you what
they are. But I can spot poisonous plants and tell you that you can eat that
plants fruit. I like to camp, it’s one of those things. I also just enjoy
being out doors, looking at nature. I love summer nights. There’s this place
at Camp Mitigwa, it’s called Frankel Field. It’s a big open field with grass
about 4 feet tall. I love to just go there late at night and lay in the grass
listening to the animals and looking at the stars, it’s a secluded area of
camp, so there’s never anyone else there. I love the outdoors.
As for my family, I have a brother and well my parents. I recently told my
parents that I was gay, and my cousin and one of my aunts knows, but I don’t
think my brother has been officially told. They are all nice, they’re a family
and such. They get on my nerves a lot But I can deal.

I’m at work and Nazanin has been gone all day. I’ve got alot of shit done. Mostly stuff for me. But I got alot done for work too. I learned how to do autoplay.inf files today, that was amusing. And I only wasted one Cd. hehe. lol. But yeah. I got my C++ assingment done, it’s not due until Sunday, but it’s done and turned in. I need to study for my Accting test tonight. I dunno if I actually will though. Maybe I’ll do that for the next hour.
Other then work not much has really been going on today. I got my stat test back and I got a 92 on it. I was happy.
Adam hasn’t been on yet, and it’s sad. I didn’t get to talk to him much yesterday and well yeah.
I’ve appiled to be on the Scouting for All board, and I’m also a “Grassroots” contact here in central Iowa since they didn’t have anyone yet. I’m thinking about holding a protest type thing the second week of camp, it’d be a sunday afternoon in late June. That’s the biggest week, with over 700 scouts and scouters come to camp. So I figured that’d be the best way to get the messege out to alot of scouts at once. IM me or leave me messages if you have any Idea’s about it. I’ve contacted Steven Cozza and he’s sending me a Video called “A Scout’s Honor” it was on PBS a while back and I hear it’s really cool. So maybe one day when I get to the GLRC again, I’ll bring it or something.

Well, I’m back at work. Not much to reall do though, cause well, we’ve been gone so long, but I have found some interesting things today…
First I was logging into an old machine here at Krell and I got this message…

Aug 23, [Goldfinger, "Smiling"]
OK so today’s been full of funny ass storys. First we’ll start the morning
off, my mom and I went to orientation at ISU. We were there in the Sun Room
waiting for the presintation to start and there was this really hot guy
that walked past and I thought to myself "HIYA!" you all know
how I say it. Well my mom says to me, "He’s pretty cute." And
I was like, OMG I can’t believe my mom just said that to me. OMG. He was
a skater so he has his board with him and my mom was like, "Well I
guess some boys just enver grow up." And that sparked a little convo
about skaters and such. It was funny. Then later we were at McDonalds and
she had ordered a Happy Meal. Well they have to ask you what kind of toy
she wanted and we couldn’t understand what the woman was saying, so my mom
just says, "I want a Boy Toy." I started laughing and she was
just like, "What." And I said, "You know how bad that sounds."
She was like, "Yeah." You know I write stories the same way I
tell them. But yeah, so next time I’m at McDonalds, I’m going to do that.
hehe. Then later we were getting my room key and such, and I saw Aaron Lenz,
and Robert Shumaker, they’re rooming together in the same building that
I’m in. YEAH! You have no IDEA how HOT they are.
Tonight was totally different. I went over to Angie’s about 5 or so and
watched her fiunish packing, Mandy was there too. It was cool. Then Mandy
and I went out to supper while Angie ate with her family and washed her
hair. After we were finished with supper we went over to Adam’s where Angie
was getting her hair permed (Is that the right spelling for this use of
the word?) We hung out with Adam, Abbie (Is that how she spells it?), Melinda,
Mandy, Angie, and Me. It was great times. Yeah. If Adam’s mom didn’t know
before tonight about him, she knows now. Hehe. lol. Oh well, tonight was
great, and I hope we have the same amount of fun tomorrow night. It’s Angie’s
last night in Iowa for like 4 months and it’s going to suck. I’m so sad
about that right now. I don’t want her to leave. And what hurts the most
is that it’s making Adam so depressed too. Usually when someone leaves,
it’s like, "Bye, see you in a while." But this time, it’s really
hurting someone that I care for deeply. And that makes me even more sad.
I probably shouldn’t be putting this here cause then Adam will feel bad
that I feel bad, and yeah, it’ll go round in circles, but I’m not going
to censor what I put here because of something like that. But yeah, that’s
the way the world works. And life sucks sometimes.
I’m all jazed about moving to school now, well I kinda am. I’m not ready
for classes to start, but I’m ready to move up there. I think this year
should be pretty cool. I just hope my roomie isn’t a homophobe (Why does
nothing look right tonight?). I’m going to go start packing now. Night all.
