It’s Friday!

So yesterday was alright.

I went to the Alliance Ice Cream social thing and that was alright. It was a bit akward at first. But yeah.

My stalker was there and he was pretty cool. He gave me and this other kid a ride home. I forget the other kids name though. So that was nice of him. He threatened to kill me though, so that’s a bit scary! But he didn’t!

I got home after that and called Andrew, we talked for just a bit, nothing too exciting. Though it was good to talk to him. About things.

After that I broke and went to bed.

This morning I woke up really early. Which was annoying, but laid in bed tell it was time to get up. Then I got up, dressed and was riding my bike to campus so that I could run, when I realized I forgot my wallet. So I had to ride back home. I think I saw my stalker while I was riding too. Very crazy!

Went and ran for 30 minutes and then did sit ups. From there I rode to my class and we worked out. My arms/chest are really hurting today after that, and so are my abs beacuse I’ve been doing the situps twice a day. So I’m in a bit of pain.

My work out partner and I are a bit odd though, he’s very quite, even more so then I am. So that’s weird. Though we seem to get along well. And again, we are both whimps. So that’s good.

Anyways, now I’m at work, we just had a 2 hours meeting about the firewall again! Very annoying because Chris G is trying to get people do to things the wrong (ie, right) way. Anyways.

Andrew just called me and that was very nice of him. He called to tell me that he got the package I sent him! Very exciting… Now I can post a link here of the things. Once I get that done. I guess.

PS: Two things that I KEEP MEANING to put down…

First I was in the bathroom of the Detroit Airport and I was going potty. Well I turn around after I’m done, and here’s this HUGE guy that’s standing there being UNCUFFED (Both legs and hands). I was very scared. And there were two (I assume) cops with him. Very scary!

Secondly. The other day when I came out to get into my car there was a big construction cone behind my car… Like not just a cone, but this big HEAVY thing. It took all my weight to move it. I was like “WTF?”

But then the other day I come back out, and it was there AGAIN! But I wasn’t even parked in the same spot… I don’t get it!

Thursday?

So this week has just been dragging on and on and on. It just doesn’t seem to stop. I was hoping that this week would go by fast, which, I guess it kinda has, but at the same time it hasn’t because it is only WED! Grrr.

Speaking of it being Wed. So far every day this week at some point in the day I’ve thought it was Thursday.. But thank god, tomorrow is FINALLY Thursday, the last day of work, and the last day of school for the week. I can’t wait.

And then once this week is over, only one more week of classes left! YAY! I’m so excited. Hopefully I’ll do better on this next MIS test. I never did go into that story did I? Well the first question on the test you had to assume some stuff. It was a registartion program, dealing with classes and the pre-reqs for those classes. Well in the ERD I added in the Student and Teacher relationships to those classes, and well, he didn’t want that, so he took off 20 fucking points! If I hadn’t over-assumed on that one question, I would have got a 92% on the test. Fucker!

Oh well I’m over it.

Tuesday was good, class as usuall. I also did some other stuff, but I’ll get into that story a bit later. Anyways, I talked to drew for like an hour that night, and that was good. We’ve been talking about tons of random stuff, and we’ve been talking much more then I think we would have had he been in Iowa. Very crazy! lol.

At work we bought a new firewall, that was uber exciting. We got her to go with the one that has 4 trusted ports so we can make a DMZ sometime in the future. Also talking her into Gigabit switches to replace the 10/100 switches we have now, and also racks for the server room. I’m really looking forward to the firewall and the racks. The firewall will be here on Thursday, so that’s exciting. We haven’t got the racks for sure yet, still trying to convince her that we need them! Which we DO!

Also while at work I came up with, what I think to be a sweet idea. Originally I asked Andrew for his address while he was there to send him a little card or something, but plans change, and I came up with the idea to send him some flowers. So I start looking up places to get flowers from that area and couldn’t really find anything that sounded good.

I call up the place that his family rented the apartment from and asked them for a recomendation for a place that’ll deliver flowers. They told me to call this place called ‘Belva’s’, so I did. Asked the what it cost to deliver and it was only $7, so I was like that’s fine. So I start telling her what I want. I just wanted to send him some, like 3 or 4, Spider Mums, because those are his favorite flowers. First of all, she only had 2 colors, yellow and white. So I was kind of annoyed with that, I was hoping that they’d have more colors. So I tell her that stuff and then she’s like, what else. And I’m like “That’s all.” And then she informs me that you have to buy a total of $35 worth of shit before they’ll deliver.

Now this took me by surprse because Hy-Vee will deliver for like $6, and there’s now limit that I know of, cause last time it was only like $15 total. So I’m like, well I don’t want to spend that much, so I asked her for to recommend somewhere else. Which she nicly did, we hung up and I called them.

This time it was $25 for delivery and $30 minimum order. So I was like, fuck them. And looked online for a g-store or something Hy-Veeish. I found this place called Publix and called them up.

Get this, there it was $15 delivery fee, and a minimum order of $50!! I was like, HELL NO!

Finally the last place I called was “Piggly Wiggly Florists” there it was only $5 delivery, which I find the weirdest because they are the farthest away from where Andrew was compared to all the others. And the minimum order was $25. So I felt that I could deal with that. I asked her if she had any spider mums, and she said she did, but only like 6 purple ones. Well, Spider Mums were like $1.50 each, so once you took the price of the vase out of there ($6) I could have gotten him a dozen of those. Which I really didn’t want to get him a dozen or even six (long story) of anything. So I ask her what else she has that she would like. She mentioned a few things and I didn’t know what any of them were. So I decided to just go with something simpler.

Ended up getting him 6 Yellow Roses with Orange tips. The woman said they looked really good, and it was a good choice. So I hope that they really do look good. After we got all that done she asked me when I wanted it delivered.

I knew that they would be gone from the house by the time I had called her (About 2ish Central time) and that Andrew and family probably wouldn’t be back to the house by the time the florist closed. So I just told her to deliver them first thing in the morning. So like 10ish.

Well come to find out when I talked to Andrew last night that they tried delivering them that NIGHT! I was so annoyed because the florist left a note there. I wanted this to be a super surprise. One of those, things where someone knocks on the door and you go and answer it and boom, there’s some flowers. But no, the stupid florist went and fucked that all up now.

This morning I came into work at 8 (because I had left the number here for them) and called them up. I asked the florist who had helped me the day before what was going on. She explained that she had a delivery in that area and just went ahead and tried delivering it then. So I accepted that, I wasn’t going to get mad at them since they were doing so much for me and helping me out so much. I asked her to call me back if Andrew hadn’t been in to pick them up before 1pm.

So I’ve been uber nervous all day. I didn’t think about it tell I was in class this morning, that his PU’s might not like him getting flowers or something like that there. Too gay or something, you never know. And everytime the phone here in the office rings I just like freeze hoping that they’ll buzz me and say “Andrew McGeehan is on the phone for you.” And I can say, “Thank you, put him though.” But nope, not yet.

I also have my cell phone next to my monitor, and everytime I get a call… Just a few seconds before my monitor flickers. Well today it’s been doing it even when I’m not getting a call. But still everytime my monitor flickers I just sit there for a second looking at my phone and hoping that it’ll start rining.

But it hasn’t YET!

Ok, stirke that last part… It just rang and it was the florists. They haven’t heard from Andrew yet. Very annoying. I would think that that would have been the first place they went to this morning. At least I know I would have… Grrr. I’m very annoyed and very anxious right now.

I hope that everything turns out well. I gave them Andrew’s phone number so that they can call him and find out what’s going on.

Well other then that not much else has been happening in my life lately. Last night I went running for almost an hour, and then did my abslide.

This morning I got up at 7, did my abslide and go ready for the day then went out. Rode my bike here to take care of the florist dilemma. And then rode to campus. By the time I got to campus my shirt was soaking wet from sweat, so I went to the bathroom in Carver and took it off and washed my face with cold water to cool down some. I forgot my water bottle this morning and I’m not happy about that either…Anyways, the point of the story is that I was standing in front of the mirror shirtless there in carver and I really liked the way that I looked. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought it looked like I’ve lost some weight recently. Crazyness really.

Class was class. I started reading Branned since I just finished Culture Jam. I really liked that book and recommend that everyone go read it! lol.

Now I’m at work and I’ve got quite a bit done for being as jumpy as I am. I’ve implemented SNMP on 5 machines and I’m working on getting it on the linux boxes, but the config files for it seem to be confusing me.

We Get What We Want.

So yesterday was a very busy and productive, yet unproductive day.

I slept in much later then I had planned on. I haven’t slept that late in ages, so I felt like I had wasted the whole day. I showered and then went out side.

Changed my oil, which took a while since I couldn’t figure out where the oil plug was on that car. It endedup being right in front of my face the whole time. STupid me. lol.

Then I washed my car. I wanted to wax it as well, but by the time I was done waching it I really didn’t care anymore.

After that I went to Ankeny to Goodwill. I found a ton of really cute shirts and some Frat ones from Andrew, but all were REALLY big. What is it with that, it alwasy seems that it’s the fat people that give thier shit to goodwill. I tried going to SalVal as well, but they were closed. After that I went over to PetSmart to pick up some fish for my dad. There were two of Adam’s friends working, I don’t remmeber thier names right now, but they completely ignored me, even though I was standing there obviously needing help with the fish, and they were obviously capable of doing that shit. Whatever.

I got those, went home and put the fish in water, one in the pond the other in the house. Very amusing times. We’ll see which one dies first this time! lol

After that I was going to help my mom with my room. We’ve been trying to peel the wall-paper off the walls for ages. There’s only one wall left, but it hasn’t been done yet.

I wasn’t really in the mood to do that, so I said no, and just sat on the couch for a couple more hours. Then I drove back to Ames.

Once I got to Ames, I went off on a bike ride. Andrew called me just as I was starting it, so I stopped and talked to him for a while. I saw Eric Solan while riding, very odd. Why’s he so fucking hot, but such a stupid asshole??

It was good to talk to Drew again, I can’t wait tell he gets back. I’m just glad this is a short week, and that he returns on Saturday. (Morning even, which makes it way better). I think we’re just going to hang out at my house Saturday and hot tub/swim.

After we were done talking I rode to the library and checked out two books. It’s amazing how easy it is to find books in that library. I don’t see how people can have problems.

Then Iw as off to go lay in the grass somewhere and read. Which I did, for about 2 hours. Then the bugs started to really get to me, so I rode home and read the rest of the night.

Today has been alright. Got my MIS test back. And we’re having a group meeting tonight here at work.

Other then that not much going on here today. Andrew should be calling me here soon. So that’s exciting!

Boring Days

So today has been uber freaking boring, and since there isn’t a boring mood on here, I guess I’ll have to use rushed, because I’m also being very rushed.

Got up this morning about 7, which is back to my normal time. Hopefully I can keep that up for the rest of the week. Showered, dressed partially, did my abslide. I can’t do as many as Andrew did, but I still did 100, which I think is pretty good. Perhaps I’ll do some more once I get off work. I felt good working out again though. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep this up now though, and maybe even work back into doing my arms. I’ve slacked off on that since Christmas, before then I was doing it every other day with 25 pounds.

After that I finished dressing and then sat around my house contemplating doing the HW for my MIS class. He said Friday that he would put the HW up that day, and one of them he would mark as being due Monday. So Sunday I left Andrew’s early so that I could come back and do the HW. I get here and check the website at 8 or so, and there’s nothing there. Well when I got up this morning, there was stuff there.

Ultimately I decided that it wasn’t worth doing and I just sat around tell it was time to go to class. Off I went to that and sat outside the room doing my group project. I really coulnd’t think of the entities and attributes that I would need for it, so I just kinda threw some things together and didn’t do much else. After that I read some more AdBusters. Which btw is really really GREAT!

Class was class and he changed the due date on that HW to tomorrow. So I still have that to do. Though it shouldn’t be that hard. Perhaps I’ll do it tomorrow before class. He also announced that our first test would be on Thursday. And that the first part of the project is due on Wed. So I’ve got a TON to do in that class. Tonight will consist of reading the book and looking over the notes.

After class I had to wait around for the bus. I was very annoyed. I could have made it into work if I rode my bike much earlier, but I didn’t because it was supposed to rain today and I didn’t want to get wet. So I missed some work today because of that. Though I’ll still be getting 7 hours in today. If I don’t get uber annoyed here and leave early!

I get to work and Chris G is back from SCC last week. So I knew it was going to be a long and tedious day. There were 20 speakers at SCC, all giving 45 minute talks on the future of Super Computing, and the National Labs. They’re all a bunch of PhD’s and the like, uber smart, but the MOST BORING people to listen to. So I’ve been sitting here watching presentations all day long, making sure the encoding that we did there was good, and that the audio was good, etc. I’ve gotten through about 8 or so and I’m about ready to shoot myself. They want them all gone through today, there’s still 4 left, and I only have one more hour to go. I dunno how that’s going to get done. And then they want them encoded into RM and on the web by tomorrow afternoon. We still have to take all the Powerpoints and convert them to PDF’s as well, and design the webpages.

In other words, there’s aboslutely no WAY this is going to get done by tomorrow afternoon. So I’m feeling the pressure from that, and that’s where the being rushed comes in.

And that’s been my day. Hopefully it’ll get better once I get home from work. I still have a lot to do before Andrew gets here tomorrow night and very little time to do it all in. Though I know I’ll be able to pull it off!

I can’t wait to see him again though. Next week when he’s gone is going to be very hard. I think that I’ll go to camp that week just to hang out for a couple nights. I know I’ll go at least Sunday/Wed/Friday nights for the major campfires. But I might also go a few other nights for the other activities. We’ll have to see though if I feel like driving all the way there or not.

While I was hanging up shirts last night I found out that I’ve now run out of hangers. When I first moved into my apartment, I bought like 3 big things of hangers and never thought that I would use them all. Now I have 10 more shirts that need to be hung up and no hangers to hang them on! How amazing really.

Eudora ia being a bitch. I love how companies follow standards. Learn how to read Qualcomm! The specs clearly specify how to impement SSL. Why couldn’t you get it right? And they’re coming out with a new version… 6.0 beta and it’s still not fixed. That means they’ve put out 4 defective products. Bastards!

Plans to go to EWR and LAX are coming together. Looks like I will be able to go, and I’m very excited!

2 More.

Well, the last couple days have been pretty damn busy.

Tuesday I had class, nothing really went on there. The class itself is going to teach me a lot I think. But the professor is pretty boring. Not his fault, he does try and make it interesting. But it’s just not one of those classes that can be interesting. Today was very hard because I was so tired from Wed. But I think I should do pretty good in the class overall. It’s mostly logical stuff.

After class I went to work. I had a TON of stuff to do that day and got most of it done. I have decided that Eudora is a poorly coded piece of crap. It caused many headaches that day.

To relieve the stress, and get a break from Eudora, I called Andrew while he was on his lunch break. We talked for a bit and it was nice. He asked me if I was coming down for the night, and I told him that I’d think about it.

The rest of the day at work was very busy. And I kept debating with myself as to if I wanted to miss class or not. I decided that it was worth one day, and since it’s so early in the year it wouldn’t matter really. So at 4:45 I rode my bike home, quickly threw some stuff into a backpack and then headed off to Andrew’s house. I met up with him at 5:40 or so.

We spent the rest of the night playing around with his computer. I showed him Opera, which is fun and fixed a few other things for him. After that we went to Family Video (2 DVD’s for $1.30, how can you pass that up!) and got The Matrix and Frita. Andrew let me watch The Matrix first, which was nice of him because I know he doesn’t like the movie. I throughtly enjoyed it though can can’t wait to go see Reloaded. After the movie, it was late, so we went to bed.

Wed moring we got up and I showered. After that we hung around the house for a couple hours. We made biscuits which is fun because they’re so GOOD! In fact, I want some more right now! And it was so cute cause we made them together. Why are we such a cute couple, I just don’t know. 😛 Anyways, after we made biscuits we watched Jerry Springer, such a crazy show. I won’t get into it!

After that he had to leave to go to a work function, so I just sat around his house playing video games and doing other random stuff. He got back about 1ish and we called Jenny (who didn’t answer her phones!!!) And Ginny (who did answer). Ginny came over about 2 and we went out Goodwilling. That was alright, but there wasn’t ANYTHING cute. So we went to teh DAV on E. University. Andrew found a cute yellow shirt, but gave it to me and then I bought a muffin tin, so now I can make my muffins! Good times.

We broke about 4ish cause Andrew and I had to meet my mom. We drove downtown to her office, which is way cool. And worked on flight info and also found a hotel for the trip to MCI. We’re going to be gone for 2 nights, and it’ll only cost us $30 each for the hotel. So I’m hoping to keep the costs to below $100 for this trip. Maybe $150. We’ve also decided that we are NOT going to eat out unless we have to! In other words, we should make a trip to Sams Club sometime. lol.

We got done with that about 6ish and then went out to supper with my mom. That was uber good. We went to a place called Centro (pronounced Chen’-tro). They had REALLY great Italian food. I don’t remember what it was that I got, but it was so good. Andrew said that his was really good too! We also got a peice of chocolate cake, it was wonderfull! Andrew and I are going to go back and get a pizza or something some time. They were only like $12 for a large one and they looked so good! Our meal was a bit more then that… Good thing my mom paid! (Thanks MOM!)

After that we broke and Andrew and I drove back to his house. We spent the night laying in his bed talking about him moving to Cali. It was very sad and we were both crying for most of it. He’s scared about moving out there, and I feel so helpless. All I can do is tell him that everything’s going to be fine, and to hold him. But I just know that he’ll do fine out there, he’s a strong guy, and he’ll have tons of great new friends!

It’s very sad to think about because 2 months from today, he’ll be moving into his dorm room. And after that it’ll be 4 months before we get to see each other again. These last 4 months seem to have just flown by, but I’m sure that those 4 months will just crawl.

I left about 10:30 and drove home. I was so annoyed though by the time I got there because once I got onto I-35 north, I got RIGHT behind a state trooper going exactly 55 in the construction zone (With a speed limit of 55) and then once it went back up to 65 he went exactly 65. I had to follow him all the way from the east mix-master to AMES! I was SO pissed at him. Fucking stupid cops.

I got home, threw my stuff down and went to check websites/etc.

I ended up going to bed that night, alternating between crying, and being ferious.

And, after much debate on my part last night, I think it’s time…
