Almost Time

Well, I’ve got 20 minutes before I start my second job! I’m very nervous… And you know what? There’s no NERVOUS emotion! Grrr. I think I’m going to go steal some from Livejournal or something. Cause this is getting REALLY annoying!

Anyways, I think I’ve got everything ready, and I’m good to go. But I’m just really nervous about starting a new job, as I always am. I’m affraid that I won’t be good at it, etc.

This morning I was so nervous I was sick to my stomach. Hopefully this will go well, 6 hours of training today, and then 4 tomorrow and Tuesday. ::deep breath:: I hope I can do it!

Then after the training, I have to go to a group meeting at 6, and who knows how long that will last!!

Almost Over

Well, the break has been going pretty good. Wed I worked all day. I played with my project most of the day, got quite a bit done with it really. Apache on one machine and MySQL on the other. Well MySQL was still compiliing when I left work, but it seems to be done now, because I got an e-mail saying that they MySQL user had a default shell, but no login directory. So that means it at least got to the point where it created the user, which I assume is a good thing. I can’t wait to get in on Monday and see how they are doing. Apache seemed to be responding pretty quickly and serving up PHP pages pretty good on Wed, so that’s exciting since it’s such an old beast. They will make good development machines if everything works out the way that I want it too.

After work I came home and cleaned up my apartment some, and sat around for a while. Then went home to PC, and cooked some stuff for T-day dinner. Went to bed about 11ish.

Thursday we had 19 people over at our house. 2 huge turkeys and a pork loin. And TONS of other yummy food!

After everyone left, I just spent the rest of the night sitting around home, eating and doing nothing really.

Friday I went shoping with my mom and Brother. Good times. I got new boxers and a few other things, which I’ve already forgotten. I’ll get them all for christmas!

Speaking of, I’ve already got two of my christmas presents. A subscription to Mens Journal, and a subscription to a San Diego magazine. Good times!

After shopping, I came home and sat around all day.

Today, I got up, went to the mall to get our passport photos, which was very annoying. MILLIONS of small children! Then my parents spent like an hour in Victorias Secret… I waited outside. lol

After that went home, and then drove back to Ames.

And that’s been my day.

The DEC Lives!

So ever since I started here, I’ve had sort of a pet project. I rescued two DEC 3000/300LX’s from the trash. A machine that has been in use since early 1994, and it’s still working. And quite nicely too, if I may add.

Anyways, the point is… My Pet project now works! Yes, I have NetBSD 1.6.1 working on them. The only thing left to really do is figure out how to boot them without a serial console. Currently I have the env var’s set to what SHOULD make it automatically boot, but it just sits there at the SRM prompt, looking at me until I tell it to ‘boot’. I’m very excited about that.

So that’s what I’ve been working on today and yesterday here. Also went through the family cookbook and made some changes. I’m going to go print a copy for myself here soon. Good times.

Andrew is on his way to NJ… well actually he should be there by now. Hope he has a good time.

I went and got the application today for my passport. Then called my dad to get my birth cert. He said we could all go and get them together, because he and my mom need it too. So that means they’ll pay for it. Which is good, cause it’slike $100 once you add in the picture cost!

I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt that I was in NJ with Andrew, and his dad wanted some time alone with him, the whole weekend to be exact, you know like a father-son bonding weekend. But Mary was gone, so there was no where for the little children to go. So I took them camping. It was a very strange dream if you ask me!

It still doesn’t seem like t-day break!

Working Away

Well here I am at work. It’s T-day week… Joy!

It still seems way early for t-day. I just am not in the mood yet. There hasn’t been any snow… 🙁

Yesterday we were supposed to get some good snow, but it didn’t happen, Lying bitches.

Hopefully this week will go good.

I Don’t Wanna!!!

I’ve decided that I don’t want to graduate yet! It’s to damn early people, you can’t make me! I swear!

Ever since my graduation year started, I keep getting bombarded with fun sounding things that I REALLY want to do. Today a guy came and talked to our MGMT 370 class about a 20 day trip to Europe.

You get to visit London, Paris, Zurich, Vienne, Salzburg, and Munich…. It sounds SO MUCH FUN! I really want to go, plus it’s worth 3 credits of Marketing! How cool is that… And I REALLY WANT TO GO !!!!! ::whines:: I’ve also decided that I really want go to Italy for a semester abroad. Of course, non of this is going to get to happen. :'( Fuckers waiting tell my last year to let me know about all the cool shit that’s going on!

Anyways, other then that, not much going on around here. I’ve opened a Principal checking/saving account. Which I thought at first would be really cool. That way I can bank online, and free bill pay and tons of other cool things, but then I was talking to my aunt and cousin about it, and apprenty if my other aunt, who works at principal, finds out about my account, she’ll be checking it and seeing what I’m doing. What a whore face bitch. Isn’t there a law against that!

I guess we’ll have to see about it. Plus the online bill pay, and the $50 they gave me to sign up was worth the troubles I think. Wells-Fargo charges you like $6 pr $7 a month for online bill pay. Bastards.

So… Question?

Why are there not ANY pencil sharpeners in classrooms anymore. I get to my test this morning, which by the way sucked, and found out that all my pencils were broken, I had to go through 4, that’s right FOUR! classrooms before just giving up and going to the office to get them sharpened. Bastards.
