AIDS is NOT a Gay Disease!

Wow, what a busy busy weekend!

So Friday I worked in Newport, got my new bike, went out to dinner with Robert at H Marys. So that was fun to be back there, got home late that night and went to bed.

Saturday I got up early and drove up to Pacific Palisades and did the Getty Villa, by myself.. Thanks Andrew. It was still nice, but could have been better. After that I drove around Malibu for a bit and then headed home. Went out on a bike ride that afternoon and went the uphill way. That was painful. But it was very nice. I got a few pics from the bluffs up there, such a pretty area. I wish I could own a house up there!

Got home after that and I was dead tired, so I laid down and watched Latter Days, which if you haven’t seen this movie, you MUST go watch it. I’d have to say it’s one of the best done gay movied out there. Specially for the small budget and short filming time they had (I think they said like 30 days or something?). Went to bed after that.

Sunday I got up early again, went out on a bike ride and then hit up the gym. Go ME! 🙂 I’m still no where near what I was when I was in college, but I’m at least lifting more then when I started a few weeks ago. Hopefully by the end of this week I’ll be able to bench 100 pounds! woot! God, I’m so weak! 🙁

After that I went and got lunch, then picked up Jason and we went and explored the Dominator Shipwreck in Palos Verdes. Which happened back in the 60’s. It was REALLY cool. Check out the pics from the linked page, you can see how HUGE this thing was, and then go look at the pics from this weekend, it’s amazing how much it’s deteriorated. It’s just amazing, and it’s only 2 miles from my house!!! It was a bit of a trip to get down there though, the trail down was pretty much STRAIGHT down, and then we took a different trail up, again, pretty must STRAIGHT up and on very close edges. We also had to walk through this really HORRIBLE HORRIBLE smelling area, not sure WHAT caused it, but OMG it was GROSS! There were some cute little BBQ pits down there too. (Not sure WHERE they came from though!)

After that we went out to dinner and got pizza, which I’ve been CRAVING forever. Sooo good. I came home, talked to my neighbor, who is SO CUTE. If only I were straight! And then watched Zoolander. Jay always RANTED and RAVED about this movie.. It was funny, but I don’t think I could watch it more then once.

L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center has started a new campain… “Own it. End it”. In which they say that AIDS is a gay disease. UGH! No DON’T say that! Then you are only playing into these damn right wing assholes. It’s a bit annoying.

Ok. I’m outta here. I have a LOT of work to do!

To Buy. Or not!

That is the question here…

I was pefectly happy with my bike, granted I have been _wanting_ a new bike. But I was happy with the one I had. Then Jason went and put this idea in my head, “Lets do LifeCycle“. Great! Sounds like tons of fun.

I kept up wanting to do it, but didn’t put much energy into the whole shopping for a new bike thing. But then he started going at it hard core, new bike this, new bike that. “I think I’m getting this one.” Blah blah blah. So I figred I had better get my ass in gear and get a new bike as well.

Well now, I have a bike I really like/want. But I’m just not comfortable dropping this much cash on it if he’s not going to get one as well. Also, I’m not sure I want to get it if we’re not going to do the lifecycle. I just don’t know. I can’t decide.

I look at it and think, “Oh it’s a great deal” but then I second guess myself and say, “But it’s so much money”. It really isn’t though! I save more then this every month. Ugh. I just need to dive in or get out. It’d be easier to dive in though if I knew for sure that my partner to dive in with was actually going to jump as well and not just stop at the edge and say, “I changed my mind” or something.

It’s all very frustrating!

This week has been very frustrating. I’ve been on a short string to explode with everyone. I haven’t been sleeping well (this seems to happen every year about this time, no?), and my tounge is VERY sore for some reason. So much so that it hurts to eat even soft foods like bread, or to talk or anything.

This weekend I have stuff to do, but no one to do it with. Getting up early tomorrow to head out hiking/exploring. Sunday I have RSVPed for the first area LifeCycle Training ride. Perhaps I will meet someone cool there. Doubtful though, if I even go. We all know how I chicken out when having to go to large group functions.

I hate it.

Well my batery is nearly dead. I think I am going to head to the bike shope and check it out. Laters.

Ebay

Lately I’ve been bidding on a lot of Ebay Items… Bikes mostly since we’ve been in the market for those.. From different sellers. Now I’m not really sure what’s going on here though! First, I’ll bid, I usually wait till like the 8 hours to even start bidding on something. However in nearly ALL the auctions that I’ve been bidding on EVERY bid will be cancelled by the seller in like the last 5 hours or so. I’ll re-bid. Cancelled again! WTF is going on here?

I took the time to e-mail E-Bay, standard FAQ response. I e-mailed one of the sellers. Claims he was hacked? Is this happening to ALL these people? How can they all be getting hacked. It always has the same withdraw reason too “Wrong bid”… Then usually after the auction ends I get a 2nd chance notice… I always go directly to ebay.com and then find the auction and then e-mail the seller via that form. The seller always replies back saying they didn’t say it. WTF is going on here?

Is Ebay really that bad of a place that so many people are being scammed? What happens with these apparently fake 2nd chance offers? If someone follows through are they then scammed out of money or what?

One of them that it happened to was a car that I put an 18k bid in on. It was a car worth well over 30k so I knew I wouldn’t get it. But sure enough a day later I get a 2nd chance offer for the car at the bid price I put in. I called the dealership directly (they had the number up on the auction and I verified with google phonebook). Thier reply, “We relisted the item and did not send out any 2nd chance offers”.

In other news, I found a bike I really like, but it’s 1,200. Once you add in tax and all the accessories it’s going to be about 1,500. I’m realy not sure I want to spend that much at all. Though he is giving me a $300 discount on the bike itself! It’s just that if I get it, I had better do a lot of riding and I fear that this LifeCycle thing won’t come through, as much as I’d really like to do it, everyone knows that I don’t do things like that unless I am going with someone I already know. There’s the first training ride for it this Sunday at 8am. Perhaps I should go to it.

I’m also really concerned about Germany. Plans are still moving along, but things just keep coming up for the other two people who might be going. One of them has work commitments and needs all this approval crap, and the other needs to build up enough time off. I’m just not sure how we can pull this off. But again, everyone knows I freak out about the pre-planning on things. I just need to get them both together at the same time, sit down and figure out what’s going to happen! Cause damnit. I WANT TO GO!

Today on Digg.com There was this cool thing about wallets I want the last one that is $340 It’s so pretty and would match my powerbook amazingly. But I also found this one called The Jimi, it’s so cute.

I was supposed to have a meetng today with someone to take over this guys website, but the current weblord hasn’t been around all day. I’m a bit nervous because I’m supposed to do the first update tomorrow and have ZERO information as to what I need to do!!!

And lastly, I saw Woz on The Daily Show (i think?) the other day and he showed his Business card. Now that is ONE cool card!

Revolution Time!

Seriously people, what is WRONG with this country, 3 school shootings in the last week, this guy in congress, Dirty dirty dirty. It’s time for a revolution. If this doesn’t wake up all those damn right wing bitches, then what will!?

This man was head of the group to protect children online and yet he was doing this!?!? This man is discusting and should be shot or something. The republican leadership that covered this up should be thrown out and Bush should be impeached… Well just for being Bush. I haven’t read anything yet that he was aware of this. But it’s been going on for at least 5 years! Comon people, why wasn’t something done about this YEARS ago!

How many poor kids did this man actually molest or something? Who knows, but you sure know it went much farther then just dirty messages online! UGH

REVOLUTION PEOPLE! Vote new people in… It’s coming up soon! Ugh!

In other news, the Germany trip is coming along it appears… I think I’m getting my hopes up a little too much though. I feel it’s all going to fall through any minute now.

Drove down to NB today, there was a car on fire and the freeway was REALLY backed up. Very annoying… Been chatting with people all morning about things since, and haven’t really started any work.
