All Employers should really read this:A Note To Employers: 8 Things Intelligent People, Geeks and Nerds Need To Work Happily.

JDub does it again. I wish I had the guts to just drop my life and get out there and do something like this. If only…

Do you own a Mac, use iPhoto? If you don’t use the photobook functions in iPhoto you should follow these instructions to save 300 megs. I’ve also found that it saves RAM when running iPhoto:

Here’s how to get rid of said folder:

Right click on iPhoto.app

Select Show Package Contents

Navigate to Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources/Themes

Delete it, burn it to disk, or offload it to external drive

Not much else really going on. I had a really annoying day today. I get in and have this meeting. I get assigned to do something. I had JUST got in, so I go back to my desk, read my e-mails and what not and then finish up another project, this all takes me about 1.5 hours. So then I go and start on this thing I was told to do. It takes me abot 20 minutes and then I run into something that i have a quick question about. So I IM the guy only to find out that he had already just gone ahead and done it. how very annoying! UGH!

I’m also getting REALLY sick of my friends/co-workers never inviting me anywhere. VERY annoying.

Random, creepy messages terrorize bisexual college students. REALLY interesting read! Who knew things like this happened!

Digg Me! I totally want one of these!

Look like a spartan. How the stars of “300” got that Greek statue look.

Outdoor weekend!

Wow this weekend has been busy!

Friday, Ben, Sirin and I met up with Jess in WeHo for his birthday! Had a great time at OBar and then went down the street tot his piano thing. It was a really fun night. On the way home Sirin and I got to talking and are going to try and figure out a way that we can buy our building. So all weekend I’ve been really excited about that and what not. Sadly I got online this morning and looked it up and the guy has increased the price by $600,000 for the building!! So now each unit is $325,000. 🙁 I’m not sure I can afford that much! But I’m still going to make a few calls and see what’s going on.

Saturday Ben and I got up, I dropped him off at home and went to a business meeting. After that we met up again and went hiking in Red Rock Canyon and then hung out in Santa Monica area for a while. Went back to his place and had dinner. We laid down for a 15 minute nap at like 8:30 and didn’t wake up again till 8:30 Sunday morning! Opps!

While I was out driving in LA on Saturday I found a gas station that was at $3.45 for REGULAR gas! Insane!

Sunday we got up and headed down to my place. Went for a bike ride and then hung out in RB area. Lots of crazy stuff going on at the Pier. It was an amzing weekend 80 degrees and what not. He left about 4ish and then I spent the rest of the day relaxing on the couch.

As always, photos from the weekend are up on the Photodump

Halliburton is planning on moving it’s head quarters to Dubai. I really think that if they do make this move, that EVERY government contract they have should be revoked. They have access to WAY too much sensitive information.

Remember the game You Don’t Know Jack?. Well you can now play them online! These games wasted away MANY hours of time at BSA staff camp every year! Soo fun

25-Code Snippets for web designers. Some very cool and useful things. I wish I had found this before we demoed a few of the past projects I’ve been working on

Time Sensitive CSS Switcher. This idea has been around for a LONG time. I remember in HS having a website that printed out “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon” etc depending on the time. But this is a realy cool implimentation of that idea.

Need a menu? 71 cool CSS menus.

Web 2.0 Tutorial Roundup!. I’ve been trying to learn photoshop lately and this has been a great resource!

Oreo Cookies

Did you all see Ben and Jerry on the Colbert Report the other night? Well check out this Oreo demo:

Very funny stuff.

So I was just at the Grocery store just a couple minutes ago… And this is how a checkout SHOULD go. The guy in front of me didn’t have his Albertson’s card.. The cashier, turned to me, and said. ‘Do you have yours?’. I told her that I didn’t have it with me, she pulled hers out of her pocket and scanned it. No hastle, no stalling, no nothing. Just did it. Clearly she knows what’s going on! haha.

I’ve been using Macs for a while now, but every once in a while I find a new built in App that I just love. Two examples have come up in the last week. First, is DigitalColor Meter. I’ve been doing TONS of webdesign over the last couple months. Everytime my boss came to me and said. “You know I really like this color from such and such website” or “here’s a graphic can you use the primary colors from it”. I’d have to either digg through the CSS or open up Fireworks and use the color picker to figure out what color it was. Well with DigitalColor Meter, it’s very easy to open it up and just hover over it to get the color I need. Amazing. And the best part is, it comes built in. I really don’t think that your Windows box has something like that!?!?!

The second thing is FileMerge. I’ve been using Differences Examiner for years, and it’s a great utility, however it doesn’t let you see what parts of a line were changed, it’s written in Java so it’s slow and you can’t compare whole directories. So today I started to look for a new utility. And amazingly enough. Apple includes this amazing app called. “FileMerge”. Let me tell you it’s great! Apple you’ve done it again!

I can’t remember if I mentioned it before or not, but I did my taxes last week. I had to pay $500! Fuckers! :'( Soooo annoying.

This weekend is packed with things to do. I’m really looking forward to it!

Laters.

Prostitutes in Germany

So remember that time I told you about how I stood outside a whore house for an hour? Well JDub wrote a nice blog about the exact place, and some of the girls. Go read it.

Summer is still months away, but this morning I drove past two gas stations that were 3.09 for regular gas… UGH! Not already! This has really got me started thinking about buying a hybrid again. I’m guessing that gas will be over $4 a gallon by the summer months. I found a nice Civic Hybrid with just over 1,200 miles for 20k on craigslist. I really want it! 🙁

Speaking of cars, my very first credit card was a GM Card. I haven’t used it since 2004, but I still get mailings and what not. I have about $200 in “car credit” or whatever it’s called on that card. Which means I can use that $200 towards any GM car. Well, the other day I got a mailing saying they would add $1,500 onto that. So it’s basically a FREE 1,700 down payment or what not. So I started looking through the GM cars.. It’s really sad, because there’s not a SINGLE car that I found that I would be willing to buy! And they wonder why they are going broke.

My company website is coming along. I’m having a really hard time writing things about my past work. It’s so hard to write about it and stuff. Ugh. Anyways, along with that I’ve been hard core checking out the Gigs section. I really hate when people write things like this: “We are not interested in someone writing the code on their own without our presence.” If you can’t trust your programmer then get out of it. My god, I do NOT work well with someone sitting over my shoulder saying. “Do this, do that” blah blah blah.

I bought a MegaMillions ticket.. sadly I’m not a multi-millionaire! 🙁

Ben’s coming over tonight and the weekend is packed. I’m thinking about taking tomorrow as a comp day. We’ll see. Later!

Google Health

So, the other day I was given this really cool new project…. It was called. “Google Health”. Yes, my company is working on a beta version of Google HEALTH! Do you have any idea how fucking COOL this is?!?!?

ANY IDEA?! _I_ got to do all the coding and design for the site, it’s amazing. I LOVE it! Check out the beta below:

Google Health Beta

In other news, apparently they are sending YET ANOTHER person to live in London! Why is it never me!!!

Last night I went out with Ben and Jason to dinner. We had a great time. Nothing much else really going on. So I’m keeping this short.

Later!
