Something Strange!

So I was talking to my grandpa today and we’re ending the convo and three words come out of his mouth that I can’t ever remember him saying before in my life…”We Love you”. WTF? I can’t EVER remember him saying that before…. Something strange is going on there!

I found out for sure that they are sending another person here to London. And yet again it’s not me! How annoying. This guy is going till “at least” June.

I made some pretty amazing tacos last night.

This weekend is a 100 mile bike ride. I’ve been getting lots of peer-presure to sign up for it. But I’m just not sure I have the energy right now to do it. I’ve just been sooo dead. In a month is a double century from Santa Monica up to Santa Barbara. I want to sign up for that one, however. I really don’t have the money right now.

Things are moving along slowly for the whole Apartment purchase. I have potentially 7 people interested now. Only need 8 more. Anyone with $60k+ is more then welcome to the information. Pictures of the place are here.

The guy who I share cube space with has worn the same outfit for the last two days…. And he keeps saying. “I’m sooo out of it”. Strange asian boy!

My life has been boring lately. Just hanging out with Ben a lot and trying to rest and what not. I’ve been sooo sleepy.

Did a 50 mile bike ride today, yesterday I did nothing. I’m sooo dead today. Ok. I’m out. Nothing important going on here. Just waiting for Ben to call me. Ugh.

Corporate Moves

The last couple weeks I’ve been really disgusted by corporate america. For any of you who don’t know the offices in SM are being condensed from 3 different buildings into 1 building. Reducing the size floor space from 50,000 square feet down to 30,000 square feet. Thus probably saving the company tons of money on rent. However….

The company has brought in outside contractors to do all the moving. You don’t have to pack anything except for your personal belongings, so all your files, etc. Just leave them and they will get packed and moved for you. Your computer equptiment, everything. This can’t be cheap! They have had 4 full time people on staff for at least the last month managing this move. I was here till 7:30 last night and all 4 of them were just sitting around laughing thier asses off. You know charging overtime. I highly doubt it takes 4 people to manage this sort of thing.

Next, instead of reusing all the cubicles, furniture, bookshelves, etc. They are getting ALL NEW stuff. Now, I know that cubicles are NOT cheap, the chairs they got everyone run about $400 each, all new phones, all new bookshelves. All new everything. Even new pencil holders. And honestly I think the the new cubes are a huge downgrade. The ones we have now are about 6′ tall, the new ones are half the square foot size and only about 4′ tall.

On the other hand, the people who do have offices are HUGE and very nice. Honstly half these people don’t even deserve the offices they get. Secondly, they cut 10,000 jobs and then the CEO gets a 36% raise? He already made $11 million.

Now, I worked with some of those people who were cut, and they deserved it. Others didn’t deserve it and should have been kept. And yet, some that were kept should have gone a long time ago.

It’s just disgusting, I have to get out of this!

Cold weekend

It’s been a really cold and blah weekend. Cloudy, rainy looking. Not very nice. But it was still a great and busy weekend.

Lets see, Friday I stayed home. It was well needed rest, altough after this busy weekend I’m still tried! Tonight I’m going to go home and nap after my dentist appointment.

So, Saturday I got up and went and picked up Ben and headed to the California Science Center for the Star Wars exhibit. It was really cool. First we saw the iMax film about hurricanes which was sad and almost made me cry! From there over to the exhibit which was tons of fun. I love star wars. After we were done with that we looked around the rest of the top floor of the science center and saw some stuff, but not as much as I wanted to as Mark and his boy-toy wanted to go eat. It would have been nice to see the rest of the area but whatever.

We headed off to Santa Monica and ate at the Cafe Crepe place. After that we went and bought Mark a cute new outfit at American Eagle! Thankfully the homo that always bothers me there wasn’t working!

Ben and I left after that and went back to my place and hung out for the night. Sunday we got up and went to WeHo and went biking. It was COLD but still a really nice ride. Up through Beverly Hills and what not. Great times. Nick and Jaun were there again so it was cool to chat with them again. There was this stupid bitch on the ride that was complaining about everything though!

Sunday afternoon we went back to my place and ate chinese. After that it was back to my place for a nap! Ben left about 6 because I was waiting for a call from Jay.

Yes, Jay. Friday I emailed him. I need help, mortgage help. And he’s the most qualified person I know that I trust to get me the right answers. He replied back with so much information, so I replied back to him with more questions. He said we’d talk on Sunday after 6, but he never did call. Which honestly is probably a good thing, because last night I was just SOOO tired I probably wouldn’t have gotten very much out of him. I’ll ring him early this morning to see if we can chat about it today.

Lets sue someone!

So on my way into the office the other day I had a brilliant IDEA! Lets SUE all the SUV/Truck drivers for polluting the air! It’s for the KIDS I tell you! Who’s going to think about the kids!??!?!

Ever wanted to merge PDFs? For a while now I’ve just been using PDFMergeX. Which has been very useful, but today I learned another GREAT built in MAC OSX feature… How to easily and quickly merge PDFs without an added application!

Launch Automator. Click on Finder > Get Selected Finder Items and add to the right. Add “Sort Finder Items” too. Click on PDF>Combine PDF Pages and click “Appending”. Then add “Open Finder Items”. Save it as a Plug-In called “Combine PDFs”.

After all that, select your PDFs with Contro-Click, then in your menu, you’ll see Automator>Combine PDFs. Click that and you’ll see your combined PDFs. Again, I doubt windows can do that!

Thursday night we went out and saw 300. Verrrrryyyy good. I’m going to have to start the 300 workout soon! lol.
