The Big Show!

So Friday we went to the Big Show for Charles Phoenix. It was really funny… But getting there was not so much.

First off. You can have a picnic there. So I emailed Ben early in the day to see if he wanted to do that or grab something before hand. He never replied. So I didn’t cook the picnic stuff that I had bought and what not. So I get to his place and ask him what he wants and he says he doesn’t care. So whatever. We drive all the way to Hollywood and he hardly says a word all the way there. So I get really grumpy and what not. We stop at Ralphs and get food and then go to the theater. During supper we hardly talk. We go in and sit down and we don’t really say anything. Ugh. What is going on here.

The show itself was great! We saw Cybill Shepherd there and she was singing the Hokey Pokey. Drunko! This site has an interesting story about the night.

Saturday I woke up sick and sat on the couch all day. Sunday I was still sick and sat on the couch all day as well. UGH!

I can’t be sick right now! I have to be out training for this fucking ride!!

Fires, Fires EVERYWHERE! – Griffith and Catalina!

Jokes: 1973 vs. 2007

My my my.. This week has been busy!

First off, I had this HUGE project at work just kinda dropped in on Monday. Pretty much everyone in the office was working on it in one way or another. Thankfully my part kept getting dwindled down because other aspects of the programming we’re taking over stuff that I was going to have to work on. So by the end of the week my part was actually pretty simple. But it still took tons of time to do. Next week we start the testing. Hopefully that all goes well.

On top of that, I went out EVERY NIGHT this week! OMG.

Monday Ben met up with me at my place. I had planned on us going to HT grill and then to Sirin’s performance, but he didn’t get there till late so we just headed straight over to the play. It was pretty good. Not exactly what I had planned. It was just 6 short stories basically each one was just one or two actors. But it was really funny. She did this GREAT southern accent!

Tuesday I headed up to Ben’s about 5 and found a GREAT new way to get there that’s so much faster then the 405 during rush hour traffic. The only problem is that ONE idiot driving 15mph could really fuck things up. So I got there really early because of the new route. We hung out for a while and then headed to Hollywood. Again we were there about an hour early so we went to get coffee and had a nice talk. After that we saw Jon McLaughlin. Who is just AMAZING! I highly suggest you do purchase his newest Album on iTunes!! We stood right next to the stage and it was great!

Plus he’s really hot:

Jon McLaughlinJon McLaughlin

We also saw Jon Voight there. I had no idea who he was when Ben said his name, but once I actually saw him I knew exactly who he was! Crazyness.

There were also HUGE fires in Griffith park that night. You can check out the Griffith Fire pics at my photodump. However, just like the last fire, I couldn’t get to the fire to take pics, so these are just a collection from other people. It really ruined the nice clear days we’ve been having around here lately. But the sunset was very pretty because of it.

Wed night we headed back up to WeHo for BINGO at H Mary’s. It was tons of fun and I won a game! 🙂 I got a Desperate Housewives gift set thing. It even included a Poker set that was only given to the cast of the show!! Too bad I really don’t like that show. If only Andrew talked to me, I’d give it to him. But since he clearly doesn’t, I’ll be selling it on Ebay.

Thursday I went out on a lunch time ride with Nick. That was fun.. It was a quick 12 miles we did in about 45 minutes.

After that I met up with my Realtor again and we looked at a few places. She’s such a stupid bitch. She had no idea where she was going and what not. We spent a ton of time just trying to find them once we got into the complexes as well. One of them has potential. But the rest were crap. Too many dirty nasties living there. My guess is that people own the condos and then rent them out to whoever. Erick came over later that night and we hung out ant talked and watched Scrubs. Fun times.

On another topic for the moment. I was browsing my friends myspace pages the other day because I was bored. I usually don’t do this very much. I just read messages people send me and search for hot boys I meet IRL. Either way. I noticed that Jason’s top 8 contains Ben… Now, normally this wouldn’t really matter. But WTF? Ok, so Jason and Ben only know each other because of ME! Jason has known Ben almost 3 months. I have known Jason for nearly a year. Ben has met many of Jason’s friends. I have yet to meet a single one of them. And now Ben is in Jason’s top 8 and I am not?! WTF! Grrr.

Also on Thursday fire broke out on Catalina island! There have been fires all over the LA area this week. It’s been crazy and horrible for the air quality. Although sunsets/rises have just been breath taking all week. Be sure to check out the pics on the photo dump of the fires and of the sunsets/rises!.

Tonight I am heading up to Hollywood with Ben. Yet again! Tonight is the BIG SHOW for Charles Phoenix. It should be really fun. If only we were still dating it’d be a million times better! Cooking, under the stars and a picnic! What boy wouldn’t want me after planning things like this! Apparently most of them!

Ok. Well it’s time for me to go home!!!

Solana Beach and Water Balloon Sling Shots!

What a weekend!

First off, Paris is going to Jail!I heard on the radio this morning that she’s saying this is cruel and unusual punishment! What a stupid bitch.

Ok, so Friday I headed down to Laguna Beach after work and met up with Austin at his new place, it was really nice. We hung out there and talked for a quick bit and then headed over to Nick’s house. Which is just amazing! I’m totally going to just move in one day and not tell him! haha. We all hung around there for a while, had a shot or two, and chatted it up. Headed down to Javier’s for dinner. Great place to eat if you love mexican!

After that we made our way to the Boom Boom Room. It was really pretty funny being there again. We of course saw Joel with some slutty looking idiot, along with the other usuals. The same dancers, the same people, etc. Green shirt boy was there, and of course he did the wet undies contest. I’m glad that I got out of that and away from Joel. I feel like I’ve grown since then, it’s good to go back and see that all these other people are still there. That place has been in decline for many many years, but it’s gotten even worse since I’ve moved away! There was however, one REALLY hot bartender! OMG. Perfect smile. Austin says he looks a lot like me! haha. We got home from that about 1am and all went to bed.

Saturday morning we got up and headed over to Irvine for our ride out at 6:30am! Got there and headed out to Solana Beach.. Map below!

It really was a great ride, lots of nice flat areas, however there were some hills early in the morning! One of the best parts of the ride was we were riding down PCH and there’s this surfer boy loading stuff in his truck shirtless. All of a sudden he turns around and flexes hard core for us! OMG! So fucking hot! If only I had been thinking faster! 🙁

Once we got to Solana beach we had about 2 hours to kill, we all hung around and ate pizza and chatted. There was this really hot guy there that I kept staring at, JC got his name, so I looked him up on myspace. Found him, and his leather boy pics! Eww.

I got home from Irvine about 6ish, showered and read the news and stuff and then Erick came over for an hour and we chatted and had martinis. I was in bed by

NOTE: The WHOLE BUILDING is shaking right now… Earthquake?!?! Or just construction. 🙁 haha.

The whole day really gave me lots of time to think about the whole situation with Ben. It’s been over a week since we last hung out and I’m really missing him. I’m just not sure how to go about things. Just stick with friends, or be aggressive and show that I like him and see if things take off again or what. Just not sure.

Nick and JC were making fun of me and my (boy) numbers from last year! haha.

Speaking of guys from last year, I found out that Jay has been in a relationship since Sept at least. The funny thing is that the guy he’s dating (Chris EDIT://Ok, I actually just talked to him and found out he was dating a guy name Ryan that he just broke up with. We just assumed that his number 1 on myspace was hs BF, as they were both IRL and they were each other’s #1 and had lots of pics of each other….)… I’ve gone out on a date with as well! Strange times there. Anyways, it was really annoying to find out this information, and set me on a major bitching fest with the person I was with at the time. He and I complained about boys for a couple hours. Good times. It’s good to know that other people out there feel the same way I do when they get dumped!

Sunday morning I got up and headed to WeHo for the Star Map Tour. It was another great ride. Although one of the TRL’s had to drop out early in the ride because someone else was having problems, so then JC was the only TRL… So by the end of it, I was in the front and JC was in the back and everyone kept treating me like I was leading it! It was strange. We did however see a Ferrari with a bike rack on the back! Very interesting.

On my way home from that ride though I got behind this Honda CR-V with a piece of paper that someone had clearly printed out on and it read… “New Driver”. Of course, I had to get up next to them to see who it was.. Asia! I laughed so hard and couldn’t wait till I got home to tell Jason! What a laugh riot!

I got home, showered and then Jason came over, we went driving in the Hybrid. Which now makes me feel like I don’t want a Civic Hybrid, it didn’t really have any power. We drove over to the Torrance airport, where you could again see the Hollywood sign! We met up with this guy he knows there and chatted for a while. He’s got a really old plane he’s restoring, so it’s cool to see all the parts and how it works. He just got the engine in, so we went over to check that out. From there we went to the Hawthorne airport to see if there was a plane free, but they were all gone. So we went out and did other things. Ended up at In-n-Out, I got a double double and a milk shake! 🙂

We went back to my place and had some martinis and chatted. I have some Water Balloon sling shots, so we went out to the beach and shot those off! Sooo much fun! Everyone kept stopping and watching the two drunken idiots. The real question was who was going to get hurt first. One of us? Or an innocent by stander! The instructions on the box says.

“One person use: WARNING! DO NOT ATTEMPT.. blah blah blah” Of course if you check out the pics, you’ll see that’s exactly what we did! Ohhh, drunkenness!

I can’t believe it’s been three years already since I graduated college!

The weather this weekend has been amazing and it’s been sooo clear, the sunrise/set has been soooo pretty and with the full moon. It’s just been amazing here lately!

Be sure to check out the pics from this weekend: Photodump

Come Support JC in Aids/Lifecycle!

Hey Readers! This upcoming WED, my friend JC is having bingo at H Marys in WeHo. Come out and support him in his effort to raise $10,000 for Aids/Lifecycle! Below is his announcement:

This is not your grandmother’s BINGO!

As most of you are aware, I’m riding in AIDS/Lifecycle for my third consecutive year… biking 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles, June 3-9. And I’ve set an aggressive fundraising goal, with a promise to shave my head if I reach $10,000!!!

I’ve set up an event with the fine folks of Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s on Wednesday, May 9th at 7pm. Legendary Bingo is fun, energetic and has helped raise over 1.5 million dollars for various local charities over the last ten years. This is not your grandmother’s church bingo… though grandmother’s are welcome. 🙂

With the help of my peeps (thank you so much, guys), I’ve been busy amassing items for prizes to be given away or auctioned that evening: DVD box sets; gift certificates; event tickets; a bunch of signed television show memorabilia from COLD CASE, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, GREY’S ANATOMY, CRIMINAL MINDS, WITHOUT A TRACE, E.R., and ENTOURAGE; and other really cool prize packages to display on your mantel or hawk on eBay.

A $20.00 suggested donation at the door includes all ten bingo games played that evening, including the grand prize game. All profits from the event will benefit my ALC Ride and get me that much closer to sporting the Britney look.

If you have any questions about bingo or my Ride, don’t hesitate to call or email me. Please visit my homepage for more information on AIDS/Lifecycle or to make a donation: www.aidslifecycle.org/1161.

Here are some of the unique items you can win or buy at auction. A lot of these things are RARE and can make you lots of bank on eBay:

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES poker set

COLD CASE Patagonia backpack ($100 value) and cast-signed scripts.

GREY’S ANATOMY cast-signed scripts

E.R. cast-signed hospital scrubs

ENTOURAGE DVD, cast-signed script and cast-signed poster

DREAMGIRLS dolls (limited edition Effie and Deena dolls, plus outfits)

ANNIE LIEBOVITZ photography book, SIGNED by the artist

ROXY event tickets

Items from PHYLLIS DILLER’s personal collection, including: signed books, caricature, and orange & white-polka-dotted hat worn by Ms. Diller (all SIGNED)

This, by no means, is all that there is. I hope you can make it. Whether you can or not, please forward the bulletin or otherwise spread the word to all your friends, family, co-workers, etc.

NOTE: This is the earlier seating for bingo, so turnout is usually high, so I suggest arriving early.

Vandalism or Free Speech?

So I was listening to Dr Laura again today on my way to the gym and I heard about a news story here in LA where a guy taped some swastikas to a Councilman’s office space. Basically from the news reports, this guy went and printed out some 8×11 papers with them on it and then taped them to the guy’s door.

So now, the guy is under arrest for vandalizing the guys office! WTF? Ok, is this wrong and disturbing? Yes!

But is this vandalizing the office? NO! Should he be arrested for it? NO!

It probably took them about 2 seconds to take them down and throw them away. Not a harm to anyone. If he had painted them on the building, or burned them into the yard, or caused some other sort of PHYSICAL destruction, then I think they would have a case to arrest the guy. But all this guy did was express his free speech, he didn’t like the councilman, he expressed it. They should hunt the guy down and warn him not to do it again. But to actually arrest him and charge him with vandalizing is a little much.

I really think it’s just the LAPD going overboard just like they did at the recent LA Immigration Rally (Aka, the illegal rally).

On that subject. I really thought Dr Laura was great about that. It should have been a HAVEN for the INS. Just go and round them up! I don’t agree with her that they were _ALL_ illegals, but come on. You know a large portion of them were. I know that this country is based on immigration and a melting pot of cultures and what not. I’m highly against the building of a fence between the US and Mexico, etc. But there’s a LEGAL way to get into this country for a reason. These rallys were for the most part for the fight to get illegal immigrants the rights that citizens have. Public schools, health care, etc. These people should not have any of these rights, they should go through the legal process to become citizens before getting these rights, etc. It’s more of our PC bull shit getting out of hand.

Again with the Dr. Laura. A caller the other day called in all up in a panic because her mother-in-law spanked her child for mis-behaving in a store while the mother-in-law was watching her. The mother-in-law gave the child ONE quick slap on the ass, fully clothed. From the description it was more of a swat then a hit. I realize this is a VERY VERY fine line, but I grew up being spanked. And I mean, SPANKED. I remember one day my dad took me into the church bathroom, I had to pull down my pants and he spanked me HARD, many times. I learned my lesson not to scream in church. (I also learned that I hate going to church! haha). Either way, Look at me. I don’t have any emotional problems, I’m not crazy, etc. Spanking is a way of disciplining your child, as long as it’s done correctly. Time-outs and sitting in the corner don’t work. It’s another part of this whole parents are trying to protect their children from the real world. You’re going to get “spanked” in the real world as an adult. Get over it.

Maybe if I had children I might feel a bit differently about this. But I’m so sick of going to the stores and seeing kids run all over hell like crazies, destroying things, opening packages and just throwing the contents on the floor, and having them SCREAM in the isles because mommy won’t buy them something. And instead of standing up to the child, the mother almost always gives in! Grow a backbone. YOU are the parent. Don’t let the child run your life! We as adults should protect our children, but at the same time you have to let them experience life. Get a scrape on the play ground, fall of the bike, learn that they don’t get EVERYTHING they want.

Omg, what’s happening to me? I’m starting to agree with Dr. Laura on more and more shit! She’s brainwashing me!
