Happy Easter!

So this weekend was pretty good. Friday night I didn’t get off work till late so Ben came over to my place and we just watched Hotel Rwanda. It was a good movie, but I could have SWORN I saw it somewhere else before and it ended differently! I’m probably just imaging things. He left after the movie and I went to bed.

Saturday morning I got up and did laundry! What a mess. One of the washers I used wasn’t working right, so it left the thing half full of water and soap and it was a mess, so I had to re-wash all those clothes. Then one of the dryers wasn’t working either, so I had to put those in for an extra 30 minutes. UGH!

After that, I went home and changed and then hurried up to Ben’s place to go to the Getty Villa. That whole day was a mess. Ben just didn’t really say anything and I kept trying to talk to him about things and I’d just get one word answers and it just really annoyed me. So I went home after that and spent the night cleaning and watching The Dick Van Dyke Show. Good times!

Sunday morning I got up and did a quick ride with JC up in WeHo to SM Pier and back. There was this one cute boy on the ride who’s like hard core into running and what not. He’s doing the Boston Marathon this weekend, so we exchanged phone numbers. I googled him when I got home, only to find out he’s semi-famous! That is, in the EV world! haha. Although according to his myspace, he’s vegan! OMG! lol.

After that I went home and tried talking to Ben, but he wasn’t having it. So I just watched more Dick Van Dyke and made wonderful Chicken and rice soooo good! Ben txted me late that night and suggested we have drinks tonight. We’ll see how that goes.

Work today has been slow. I’m covering for the HD evening shift again. Which is always slow and other then that I am waiting on other people to get things done before I can do any of the work that I need to be doing. So I’m mostly waisting time right now and learning things. I was told that they might be moving me into a DBA type position soon. But then, I’ve heard that before.

I’ve always wondered how much caffeine it would take to kill me.

Later!

Burn Baby! … Calories!

So, I was Stumbling again the other day and found CalorieLab. So I looked and according to that thing, I burn between 700 and 900 calories an HOUR whenever I go biking!

CRAZY! So like that Century ride I did, that’s 4,675 calories! Insane! No wonder I am always hungry! And just on a normal weekend ride I can burn 1,400 or so.

The other day I watched Harvard Man. Very very strange. I would not suggest watching it.

Last night I went out with Ben for the first time in a week! He was sick. 🙁 We went out and saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was pretty good. But I wish they had stayed more with the original story. And they TOTALLY left it open for a second movie. It was good seeing Ben again.

[private]I also hung out with this guy Logan, who was nice and very interesting. He lives right down the street from me. He was very smart and works for Lexus. Although, he’s going bald and grey already![/private]

I called in today to find out just how much my ticket was going to cost me, apparently tickets aren’t available until 21 days after you get them! WTF?! It should only take them a day or two to scan them into the system! Stupid government!

Ok. Gotta get to work. later!

All Employers should really read this:A Note To Employers: 8 Things Intelligent People, Geeks and Nerds Need To Work Happily.

JDub does it again. I wish I had the guts to just drop my life and get out there and do something like this. If only…

Do you own a Mac, use iPhoto? If you don’t use the photobook functions in iPhoto you should follow these instructions to save 300 megs. I’ve also found that it saves RAM when running iPhoto:

Here’s how to get rid of said folder:

Right click on iPhoto.app

Select Show Package Contents

Navigate to Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources/Themes

Delete it, burn it to disk, or offload it to external drive

Not much else really going on. I had a really annoying day today. I get in and have this meeting. I get assigned to do something. I had JUST got in, so I go back to my desk, read my e-mails and what not and then finish up another project, this all takes me about 1.5 hours. So then I go and start on this thing I was told to do. It takes me abot 20 minutes and then I run into something that i have a quick question about. So I IM the guy only to find out that he had already just gone ahead and done it. how very annoying! UGH!

I’m also getting REALLY sick of my friends/co-workers never inviting me anywhere. VERY annoying.

Random, creepy messages terrorize bisexual college students. REALLY interesting read! Who knew things like this happened!

Digg Me! I totally want one of these!

Biking Weekend

Well this weekend has been pretty busy. Friday I just stayed home after work and had an enjoyable evening alone. That was nice to just hang out and relax. Saturday I got up early in the morning and headed down to Long Beach. Did a great 50 mile ride that day. There’s a 70 mile ride coming up in a couple weeks going from Irvine to San Diego, and then you catch the train back. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun, so I think I am going to sign up for that. After the ride I came home, showered and then went and got my hair cut and stopped at Target to pick up a few things.

While I was there I realized I forgot the croutons for my Meatloaf I was going to make. So I checked out the food section and couldn’t find any croutons. So I just headed next door to the Ralphs. I ended up getting a whole basket full of stuff. Most of it was on sale with a ralphs club card. So I get up to the check out line and the woman rings up my stuff. I realize I left my club card in the car, and just enter my phone number… Which NEVER works. I swear, the thing doesn’t work with out of state phone numbers. Because everytime I try to do that at any of the grocery stores it never works. Anyways, I try twice then the cashier woman tries. Doesn’t work. So she says that I can’t get the club discount. I say to her, “Don’t you have one you can just scan for me?”. It’s not that big of a deal, most cashiers have one, thier own or what not that they’ll just scan. They get points towards coffee at starbucks and whatnot, so why not? She says, “No, we’re not allowed to do that.” So then I do whate everyone else does.. I ask the lady behind me. Typical grandma style woman, she’s confused at first but when I explain it to her again she gladly hands over her Club card for me to use.

The cashier refuses to take it… WHAT?!?!?! Now this is where things get ridiculious. It doesn’t MATTER whos card it is. The cashier goes off on this rant about how it’s “Wrong that you get her discount” and blah blah blah. Excuse me? It’s NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. It’s not like the old woman has to pay the card, it’s not like the money is coming out of the cashiers pockets. It’s a discount that ANYONE could have gotten. Hell I could have just taken the 5 minutes to sign up for a new card if I really wanted to. But I didn’t want to hold up the line any more then it already was. At one point the cashier in the next line even turned to the old woman and said. “I really don’t know what her damn problem is.” Sooo funny. Anyways, on the way out I happen to run into a manager and told him the story, then the old woman stopped and talked to him. As soon as she was done he ran over to the phone and picked it up. I assume to yell at her or something.

The old lady and I stopped outside and chatted for a while. It was great.

After that I went home and made my meatloaf. Sooo yummy! By that time it was like 6pm and I was exhausted from running around all day, so I again just spend the night at home and watched the movie magnolia. It was very very strange. Raining frogs?! WTF?

Sunday morning I got up early and headed up to Santa Monica for a ride with Team 100. Pretty big group there this time, which was cool. There was this new really cute boy, like REALLY cute, anyways, he totally falshed like everyone. You could see his junk. Haha. I also met this guy Wayne and Nick. They were pretty cool. Nick and I got lost early on though because we were following this guy who apparently wasn’t in our group. lol. Opps. Wayne and I think that NIck got lost again because he took off from us about 10 miles before the first rest stop and we lost track of him. But he was no where to be found at the first stop. Opps again. I headed back from there because I was on a time constraint.

Met up with Ben for lunch at The Counter which was relaly good as per usual. After that we went shopping, and then split ways for a couple hours.

He came back over at 8:30 and we hung out. It’s good to have him back in town. 🙂
