I’m sure you have all heard by now that we are all going to be eating bread and water soon. All because the honey bees are disappearing! OMG! Lets all freak out. I’m getting really annoyed with the media’s need to hype this shit so badly. First off, hello, bread is made from products that need to be pollinated! So clearly we won’t be eating bread. It’ll have to be something else. But really, lets think about this for a minute, the whole WORLD requires this food, we’ll never let it happen, if we have the technology to get a clone a sheep and get a woman pregnant via In vitro fertilization, then we can come up with ways to pollinate the food that we need.Why don’t we focus on a real story, like the fact that Cheney should be impeached (Well and Bush as well, but that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere yet)? The media needs to get their asses in gear and stop trying to scare the shit out of the American Public and do it’s job.

You know, I see these commercials all the time for Fox’s morning news show here in LA. They’ve got two ditsy blonds and some stupid old man. This isn’t news, it’s an entertainment program.

And then the American public needs to get over it! I read this the other day on a parents blog:

With all the drama that has been going on in certain church communities and I need not even attempt to get into what is going on in our whole school system how do you as a parent check into these matters with out your children knowing or finding out your fear. Am I being crazy for wanting to home school, and keep my child out if “THE REAL WORLD” —- or do I close my eyes and just have faith that everything in her life will be just “gumdrops and butterflies”

Ok, your kid’s life is NOT going to be “gumdrops and butterflies”. GET OVER IT! Your kid has to learn that there are bad people out there, they have to learn how to cross a street on their own, they have to learn how to protect themselves from someone else. You as a parent are not going to be there to PROTECT and shield them their whole lives. GET OVER IT. Teach them to protect themselves, be a parent and get involved, learn about the people your child is going to be around! If you don’t like that person, get them away from them. I have to admit that Dr. Laura has been giving some good advice lately in this area. I still think she’s a bitch, but she does give good advice sometimes!

Lastly (on the ranting side of things!) I’ve been getting really annoyed with how much censorship is going on in TV, Radio, etc. People are freaking out about the smalled of things! I’m going to say it again. GET OVER IT! If you don’t like what you are watching, change the station, don’t listen to that program and complain to the company. Don’t SUE someone, don’t freak out and go crazy. You aren’t the only person in the world. I agree that some things shouldn’t be on TV or Radio, but apparently enough people like it that they are. If I find something like that, I change the channel. I don’t freak out and call the FCC, etc. The religious right is just getting out of hand in this country. The government isn’t here to regulate like they have been. They should not be spying on citizens, etc. Whatever happened to Reps wanting smaller government and less intrusion into our lives?!

Ok, I know a lot of that was really disconnected, but I just had to RANT about it! Very annoyed lately about that shit.

This week has been very busy with work and stuff. Nothing too exciting is going on there but I have been really busy with some projects for a demo we did yesterday. Last night I also got an email that started out like this: “Hey chris, you’re gonna be pissed about this one“. Opps. Apparently they reformatted a server that had some stuff on there which I had done. Oh well.

Ben has been out of town and apparently very busy, so I haven’t talked to him all week. Last night this guy that’s been talking to me off and on for months finally talked me into meeting up for coffee. I told him we’d just be meeting as friends, which he was cool with. Anyways, we set up a time for 6:30 to meet in RB. So he called me at 6:30 and says he’s going to be late, not too big of a deal, because I live within walking distance of the meeting place… 7:00 rolls around and he’s just now leaving LAX, but he forgot to print out directions! WHAT? If you’re going to meet someone at a place you’ve never been, shouldn’t that be the first thing you do!? So I give him directions, he gets to the area and gets lost, so I have to talk him through it all. Shows up in his new BMW Z4, top down. I knew it was going to be an annoying couple hours, right there. We talk, and all he can talk about is his famous photographer dad, how he’s moving into this amazing new apartment, blah blah blah. Completely wrapped up in his material shit.

Someone actually contacted me yesterday completely out of the blue for a Linux Sys Admin job at a company in DM. Apparently I was recommended to her.

I went and looked at a nice condo in HB on Tuesday. I liked it, it had nice ocean breezes, although it was 3 miles to the ocean. It’s on the high side of my price range, but I think I will call Jay today to see if we can work something out financially. I know I shouldn’t be talking to him, but everyone else in the mortgage industry I talk to just seems to shady. I at least trust him to give me good and correct information. I keep finding these other really nice looking places, but they are ALL in those damn land lease communities!!

Lifecycle is less then ONE MONTH away now! I just spent $150 on the rest of the biking goods I need to get through it. Now I still have to pay for my hotel room for two nights up there and I should be good to go. I really need to find out who I can get a hotel with though! Anyone?!?!?!

This weekend is going to be packed with FUN! Friday night I’m going out to the Boom Boom in Laguna! I haven’t been there since the infamous night with Joel, Ryan and Dustin nearly a year ago! Then Saturday I’ll be getting up early and biking down to San Diego. Sunday will be the typical Star Map Tour with Tom and JC. Did I mention that Tom gave me a very long hug at last weeks ride? It was strange cause I’ve only really met the guy once! But it made me feel good and like part of the group. This really is starting to become a family already! I can’t wait for the ride to start. (Although, I’m really scared about the ride as well). I remembered last night that I still have those HUGE water balloon shooters from my BSA days, so I’m going to pack those!

Then next week every night is packed with some activity except for Thursday. I am going to be DEAD!

Outdoor weekend!

Wow this weekend has been busy!

Friday, Ben, Sirin and I met up with Jess in WeHo for his birthday! Had a great time at OBar and then went down the street tot his piano thing. It was a really fun night. On the way home Sirin and I got to talking and are going to try and figure out a way that we can buy our building. So all weekend I’ve been really excited about that and what not. Sadly I got online this morning and looked it up and the guy has increased the price by $600,000 for the building!! So now each unit is $325,000. 🙁 I’m not sure I can afford that much! But I’m still going to make a few calls and see what’s going on.

Saturday Ben and I got up, I dropped him off at home and went to a business meeting. After that we met up again and went hiking in Red Rock Canyon and then hung out in Santa Monica area for a while. Went back to his place and had dinner. We laid down for a 15 minute nap at like 8:30 and didn’t wake up again till 8:30 Sunday morning! Opps!

While I was out driving in LA on Saturday I found a gas station that was at $3.45 for REGULAR gas! Insane!

Sunday we got up and headed down to my place. Went for a bike ride and then hung out in RB area. Lots of crazy stuff going on at the Pier. It was an amzing weekend 80 degrees and what not. He left about 4ish and then I spent the rest of the day relaxing on the couch.

Halliburton is planning on moving it’s head quarters to Dubai. I really think that if they do make this move, that EVERY government contract they have should be revoked. They have access to WAY too much sensitive information.

Biking Weekend

Well this weekend has been pretty busy. Friday I just stayed home after work and had an enjoyable evening alone. That was nice to just hang out and relax. Saturday I got up early in the morning and headed down to Long Beach. Did a great 50 mile ride that day. There’s a 70 mile ride coming up in a couple weeks going from Irvine to San Diego, and then you catch the train back. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun, so I think I am going to sign up for that. After the ride I came home, showered and then went and got my hair cut and stopped at Target to pick up a few things.

While I was there I realized I forgot the croutons for my Meatloaf I was going to make. So I checked out the food section and couldn’t find any croutons. So I just headed next door to the Ralphs. I ended up getting a whole basket full of stuff. Most of it was on sale with a ralphs club card. So I get up to the check out line and the woman rings up my stuff. I realize I left my club card in the car, and just enter my phone number… Which NEVER works. I swear, the thing doesn’t work with out of state phone numbers. Because everytime I try to do that at any of the grocery stores it never works. Anyways, I try twice then the cashier woman tries. Doesn’t work. So she says that I can’t get the club discount. I say to her, “Don’t you have one you can just scan for me?”. It’s not that big of a deal, most cashiers have one, thier own or what not that they’ll just scan. They get points towards coffee at starbucks and whatnot, so why not? She says, “No, we’re not allowed to do that.” So then I do whate everyone else does.. I ask the lady behind me. Typical grandma style woman, she’s confused at first but when I explain it to her again she gladly hands over her Club card for me to use.

The cashier refuses to take it… WHAT?!?!?! Now this is where things get ridiculious. It doesn’t MATTER whos card it is. The cashier goes off on this rant about how it’s “Wrong that you get her discount” and blah blah blah. Excuse me? It’s NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. It’s not like the old woman has to pay the card, it’s not like the money is coming out of the cashiers pockets. It’s a discount that ANYONE could have gotten. Hell I could have just taken the 5 minutes to sign up for a new card if I really wanted to. But I didn’t want to hold up the line any more then it already was. At one point the cashier in the next line even turned to the old woman and said. “I really don’t know what her damn problem is.” Sooo funny. Anyways, on the way out I happen to run into a manager and told him the story, then the old woman stopped and talked to him. As soon as she was done he ran over to the phone and picked it up. I assume to yell at her or something.

The old lady and I stopped outside and chatted for a while. It was great.

After that I went home and made my meatloaf. Sooo yummy! By that time it was like 6pm and I was exhausted from running around all day, so I again just spend the night at home and watched the movie magnolia. It was very very strange. Raining frogs?! WTF?

Sunday morning I got up early and headed up to Santa Monica for a ride with Team 100. Pretty big group there this time, which was cool. There was this new really cute boy, like REALLY cute, anyways, he totally falshed like everyone. You could see his junk. Haha. I also met this guy Wayne and Nick. They were pretty cool. Nick and I got lost early on though because we were following this guy who apparently wasn’t in our group. lol. Opps. Wayne and I think that NIck got lost again because he took off from us about 10 miles before the first rest stop and we lost track of him. But he was no where to be found at the first stop. Opps again. I headed back from there because I was on a time constraint.

Met up with Ben for lunch at The Counter which was relaly good as per usual. After that we went shopping, and then split ways for a couple hours.

He came back over at 8:30 and we hung out. It’s good to have him back in town. 🙂

It Wasn’t Me

So I was listening to the radio the other day and “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy came on the radio. It got to the line where the song goes:

and instead of that it now says:

Umm. WTF?! Since when did “making love” become something you can’t say on the radio!? WHAT!? Are you serious!? This has to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard!

So then. Friday night I was supposed to go out to Weho with people but everyone backed out at the last minute and it was just annoying. Instead I spent the night working on some stuff for one of my contract jobs and I just couldn’t get it figured out. The View is returning 4 rows and I need to take data from the two identical rows and join it together…. Well, it’s harder then that, I’m just not explaining it right. Either way I couldn’t figure it out. I went to bed about 11 and woke up around 9ish Saturday.

Got up and went to Ikea and the SouthBay Pavilion. GHETTO! Ikea was good. I spent $65 there, got a shoe rack, a rack for the bathroom, some spoons, and a huge coffee mug for the newport beach office. Came home and put things together and cleaned.

So remember the camera I lost? It’s STILL not found. I have spent 15-20 minutes every day looking for it. Today I pulled EvERYTHING off my desk, out from under my desk, out of the closets, turned the couch up side down, moved the coffee tables, I even searched through my underwear drawer!! It’s GONE. I’m really starting to think I might have thrown it away or something, but I went out and searched through the two bags of trash that I’ve taken out in the last week.. NOTHING. So now I have to find a new one. I’ve been WANTING a Digital SLR forever, but I think that’s just way too much to spend on it right now. So I don’t know what to do. I’m thining the Canon Powershot SD630. It looks like a really nice camera and I _love_ the 3″ screen! I really want to have a camera before this weekend’s ride.

I also went out and did a quick bike ride. That was good. Less then one week till my 100 mile ride.

Saturday night Robert and I hit up Weho. Had a really good time, and checked out a few boys. 🙂 Fun fun! Surpised we didn’t run into you know who. But thank god. The lines at HERE were HUGE! Something special must have been going on. Either way we had a great time. Got home about 3am and crashed.

Sunday got up and looked for my camera a little more. But there’s really no where LEFT to look, but I just know that as soon as I go buy a new one, it’s going to turn up somewhere.

Went flying in the afternoon with Jason and Carlito. We flew inland over downtown LA, up to Santa Monica, south over LAX and then back into Hawthorne. While we were flying up towards downtown LA we came within what seemed like a couple hundred feet of an Airbus A320 that was coming into LAX. They said that they were really low or what not. Either way it was COOL and scary at the same time being that close to such a huge jet.

After that Jason and I went over to Torrance Airport and talked to a guy who knows the guy who was in a plane crasha over the weekend. Pretty amazing story. Now that’s a real pilot!

Ben came over that afternoon about 3 hours after I had expected him, but either way we had an enjoyable evening talking and watching Scrubs.

About the Worst New-Year

So I’ll tell you about it. Here’s what happened…

Saturday night I headed out to LAX to pick up Andrew. When I left my house at 9:45, it said his flight was only 6 minutes late. However he didn’t actually land till nearly 10:30. Drove him up to his car and then headed off to the Abbey.

Met up with Hector, Jess and Chiba… Along with all of their respective friends. It was a huge mess. I was trying to talk to all of them at the same time, and just not working out well at all. The Abbey was pretty fun though, etc. After that Chiba and I went out to pizza after. Ended up having 2 randoms from way up north sit with us and chatting. I really like that whenever he and I go out somewhere there are some random people who end up talking to us. It’s very fun. Some cute, but REALLY fem guy came up and started talking to me as well… When he left he said, “Keep on smiling”. Very strange!

Drove back to Chiba’s place after that and we went to bed about 5am. I woke up about 11ish Sunday, all ready to go and do something. But Chiba didn’t wake up till nearly 2pm. By that time it was too late to do the things that I had wanted to do Sunday, so we ended up just going out to dinner and then back to his place and watching Harry Potter. He started getting ready to go at 8pm.. We didn’t leave till 10pm. He seriously changed like 3 times. I was very annoyed by the time we left. We called this place called Geisha House and made reservations for 11pm. Get there, and have to wait 15 minutes in line…. JUST to get to the front desk to tell them we have reservations. Then come to find out, they are still seating people who had reservations at 9:45pm!! HELLO! Why did they not fucking tell us that when we called!?

So we left, and went over to his friend’s house. It was like 11:30 when we get there, and I’m pissed. They just stand around talking, and we leave like 10 till midnight to get to the Abbey. NO WAY. So I spent my new years in a fucking car. SO ANNOYING.

Douglas, the other guy in the car. Said “what’s the big deal”. Exucse me, the WHOLE deal about new years is the 10 seconds before and the 20 seconds after midnight. The count down and then the celebration. GOD I was so fucking annoyed.

So we get to the abbey and I decide to have a drink… 151 and coke. Normally these come in a short glass.. This guy gave me a BIG glass. I was so drunk. And I HATED that feeling as well, god no more drinking! After while at the Abbey, Douglas and Phil wanted to go to Mickey’s, which I have only heard horrible things about. And since I hadn’t eaten since 2pm. I was starving. So Mayko and I went to the pizza place again. And again we ended up talking to random people. I had to pee after that, so Mayko went off to meet up with them and I stood in line for what felt like an hour to pee. Went down to meet up with them and some guy at a stop light grabbed my arm and wanted to talk with me. Very random!

Got down to Mickey’s and they are walking towards me, saying they are ready to leave. I feel like that was my fault because I bitched about going there. I didn’t want to make them leave if they didn’t want too. Anyways, so on the ride home, Mayko and I start talking and all of a sudden he says, “I don’t think I’m ready for a relationship right now”

UGH! WHY does this always fucking happen to me. God damnit. So we get back to his house at like 3:30am. I’m still pretty damn drunk. But I’m sure not going to stay at his house now. So I walk out and drive home. Got there about 4:30am and went to bed.

Me: So what after all baby this and baby that. You have nothing to say? What were you just trying to fuck me? You really hurt me, i liked you a lot.

Mayko: I need more time to think. I am sure that I did the mistake to treat you as a boyfriend because you are always very nice. But I don’t know if i could handle it right now.

Me: You hurt me a lot.

Mayko: Chris Please, that wasn’t my intention don’t want to make you feel like that. I gues we should have done this converstaion before.

Me: We did.

Mayko: About relationship?

Me: Yes, the first week we hung out. I asked you what you were looking for.

Mayko: Did You get home safe?

Me: Does it Matter… I wish this didn’t happen. I liked you a lot.

Mayko: Chris I like you too but I need more time to think if we could start a relationship right now.

Me: Fine, I guess. But I am very hurt. I guess we should have talked about it more then once.

Mayko (NEXT DAY): Chris are you ok? How are you?

Me: No, I am not. I am a very sensitive person.

Mayko: I am feeling so bad.

Me: I am sorry you feel that way, but you need to make the right decision, not just an emotional one. So think about what you want please.

Mayko: I am feeling more bad because you are such a nice person for me!

So we talked some more on Monday, but nothing really productive. So yeah, new year starts off with me getting dumped! UGH.

In other news. I couldn’t sleep this morning, so I came into the office about 4am.. Also last year, I received 31,985 emails, that I KEPT! I averaged over 250 e-mails a day in all kinds of things. But I only kept an average of 88 per day.

My new years resolution? 1) Layoff the men. 2) Go back to school.
