Midnight @ Work…

It’s Midnight, Sunday. I am at work…. I have been here since 7pm. UGH!

This weekend has been very very fun. Thursday night I went over to Jason’s house and hung out with him and Steve. We ate at Seashore, drank wine and chatted and had a great time. Friday I worked and then did the gym, after that Kris came over and we watched a The Trip and drank some and chatted. He left about 1am and then the 18-year-old came over. We made out on the couch, watched movies and chatted till 5am. No sex. ๐Ÿ™ He spent the night. Got up at 7am to drive him to work, came home and changed and went kayaking with Kris. We went all the way from RB Pier down to PV. It was a great trip and we got pretty far out!

I got home from that at 2ish, napped for 30 minutes and then showered and went to eat dinner with Sirin and one of her friends. We had an enjoyable time even though I was very very sleepy. Left dinner and Sirin and I went to the CalPhil. Had a really great night there! Again, I was EXHAUSTED, but I enjoyed the music. Rodgers and Hammerstein was the theme for the night. I was dozing off during some of the music, but it was honestly very lovely to doze off to the CalPhil! I could do that every night! Got home from that at midnight and crawled in bed and crashed.

Got up at 5am this morning, came into work, shut down all the servers and then went home and crashed in bed till 10:30! Woot for sleeping in! Got up and cleaned my apartment which was in desperate need of that. Then I met up with Sirin and Kris and we went to see Mamma Mia. Honestly, not as good as I was hoping, but still wonderful! We sang during the parts we knew.

I have been really contemplating buying a DLSR lately. I really want to start taking some better shots of life. I think it’d be fun! Actually, I want to buy a lot of things. A new couch, a gun, a camera, a new TV. If only I were rich!

Ok. The Tech guy is here, I must go… Hopefully I will be in bed by 2am!

Swing Vote

So last night I got to go to see a screening of the movie Swing Vote… It was actually a pretty good movie.

This movie is about a do nothing, beer drinking, factory working father of a very smart girl. Bud is just cruising through life, working at an egg packing plant, that spends his nights getting so drunk he passes out. Until one day his daughter tries to vote for him, a freak accident causes the whole election to come down to one vote.. Her fathers.

It’s a pretty funny movie overall, and sad at times as well. The family behind me was laughing far more then I was. Parts of it I just couldn’t get over how redic it was.

Either way, go check it out sometime on a cold/rainy afternoon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Comes out Aug 1st!

Devil Wal-Mart

So I was reading this article on digg today and they said this about wal-mart

The company that, more than any other, destroyed everything nice about America. Small towns in this country were once wonderful and pleasent places. They were all unique and delightful places to live. Each one had a little main street or town square and there was a place to eat, and a place to buy groceries or get your car fixed. There was a hardware store, and a shop that sold clothes. People earned money in the town and spent it in the town, and life was rosy. Not anymore. Now, every small town has nothing in it, nothing at all. But 5 miles outside of town, sitting in a charmless parking lot the size of a small lake, is a Wal-Mart. Everyone in the town buys everything there, because they have no other choice. And the money goes off to a mega-corporation, and to China, where they keep making cheap plastic garbage for us to buy, and break, and throw away, and re-buy. And what was the upside of this deal with the devil? Well, now America is more homogenized and a lot less interesting. Because with the Wal-Marts come the Taco Bells, the Jiffy Lubes, the KFCรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs, and the stripmalls that are identical in every town. Now Tempe, Arizona looks, more or less, exactly like Ashville, Kentucky, and Burlington, Vermont. And Sally in Lockjaw, Idaho can wear the same awful shirt as Betty in Cribdeath, Iowa. What a disaster.

Now, I know a lot of my readers love wal-mart. But I completely agree with this statement! We don’t need cookie-cutter everything in this country! People need to be different, wear different things, get their cars fixed at different places. America needs to be less centralized and bring the money back into small towns. People buy shit at Wal-Mart and very little of that money stays in that town. It’s very sad.

First Week!

Well, the first week of the new job… It’s been interesting.

Everyone here is very nice, but I really do need to learn Spanish as it seems most of the employees know it here and they like to speak it a lot! There’s already been a slight language barrier between me and some of the people’s names… IE: Hymay = Jamie, apparently?

Other then that lots of crazy stuff. This company pays nearly $25k a MONTH in phone bills! Redic! Of course nothing is documented, the contractors are complete idiots who have been doing all this work. I asked them on Tuesday for a list of all the passwords, the guy says he doesn’t know any of them then gets on the phone and says that his people are “working on it”. It’s Thursday and I still do not have that information. They sent me passwords to get onto one of the systems they have and I tried signing in, no luck. So I email them and tell them that the passwords do not work. I get a reply back with the SAME username and password. I ask them THREE times to change it and they do not. It still doesn’t work!

THEN I get the password for another of their system and they are like: “Include the quotes in your password”… WHO THE FUCK does that? Redic!

Other then that, life has been good. I spent last night hanging out with Manny up at the gym. That was very entertaining, this crazy lady who was working out there came over and started talking to us and she said. “You boys should come see me sing tonight, I’m going to be signing tonight, at this bar, I’ll be singing”. Hilarious! She had TONS of make up plastered on.

I also started my personal trainer again. I was in lots of pain on Tuesday from that, he had me do this hand-bike thing for Cardio. The sucky part is that his schedule is changing, so now I have to go in at 6am on Tuesdays!

This new schedule of working 8-5 has me feeling like I have far less time to do stuff around the house! I feel much more pressed for time and not as relaxed as I used to.

I cannot wait for my first paycheck! ๐Ÿ™‚ Did I mention the $1,500 thing with WR? Anyways, a few days after my last day there I get an email saying that they needed me to repay the $1,500 loan for moving expenses up to Redondo. When I moved up here, they said they would “Pay for moving expenses to compensate for being asked to move up to LA”.. Well now they are saying it was a loan?! I think NOT! Ugh, very annoying. If they take it out of my last paycheck, I will be taking them to small claims court. This is unacceptable!

Other then that, things have been going great, life is good, friends are great, and I do enjoy the new job, but it’ll take some time to get used to. No throwing up this time!
