The Quest

So this weekend has been TONS of fun, Friday night I met up with Adam, Scott, Bruce and two females. We hung out there for a while and then Mike, Andrew, Dustin, and Jenny all showed up… I guess they we having “private” going away party for Dustin. Whatever, eh?

Well anyways, it was just going to be us three, Scott, Adam and I going dancing so Adam and I were like, fuck this shit, and wanted to leave. But Scoot BEGGED so we went anyhows. It was alright.

We left there about 12:00 and on our way home passed James… I guess he was going to Statik as well… To bad, it would have been fun to hang out with him there. lol

So we went back to Ankeny where we picked up some shit for him and then we went to Wal-Mart cause I wanted a pitcher. So we get there and then Adam’s like I want Bakon and Eggs… That had to have been the FUNNIEST thing I’ve seen in forever. Two gay guys with $8 wondering around Wal_Mart trying to get Bakon and Eggs at 1:30 in the morning. lol. So we got back to my Apartment and Adam was like, “I don’t want bakon and eggs now” So instead we make Ramen Noodles, which were good anyways. lol

We finally got to bed at like 2:30… We awoke the next morning, made our bakon and eggs and then went to work at Budget.. That was good times. I make $37.50 which I needed because we also stopped and purchased my Calc book… $85 for a DAMN BOOK!

After we were done at Budget we went back to my house and I showered then we went to Adam’s house and he showered, then we went out to supper… Mmmm.

After that we called up James cause I haven’t seen him in like forever and we all went back to my house and went swimming… Well we were going to go swimming, but the pool was all nasty, so we just went hot tubbing for like an hour and a half. I also lost a contact in the hot tub. So I wasn’t going to drive with just one eye..

Adam called his mom to make sure it was alright for him to stay at my house and she got all pissy and didn’t beleive that I had actually lost a contact. Rarr.

So he spent the night and then today I drove him home, it was very scary with just one eye. And then I came back to Ames, where I am now at… Doing absolutely nothing… I figure I’ll go put away laundry here and then go on a bike ride or something. Maybe I’ll go buy a seat lock or something cool like that, lol.

Amusing Banter

Pulling out a K6 processor while the machine is running and replacing itw ith a Pentium tends to cause linux toc rash too. Humph. The damned machine was supposed to be plug and play. 🙂

HAHA!! That’s great….

Well so far today has been amusing.. The last two days, I’ve just been sitting in my office reading books about Linux Security and trying to get SPOP and SIMAP to work… I have them somewhat working, but not from outside. If I do localhost 993 it works, but if I do linux 993 it doesn’t. Damn thing.

Today LH called and said we were using 80% of our connection. We looked into it and found out that dorm.org was transfering large amounts of data. (Dorm must have got his new server working and was transfering over all… 80 GIGS or so of his shit through our connection…) What a dork. So Nazanin e-mailed him at dorm.org and then unplugged the machine. roflol

She came in today after that staff meeting and said that we were going to have a meeting about our “policies” whatever that means. Hmmm, I wonder what’s wrong now.. Perhaps just another psycho-power trip? roflol!!

I love her, she’s so funny when she’s not on my nerves. Perhaps I should go about a Vermont upgrade every day! She leaves me alone then. Well mostly alone, only when something big comes up does she bother me!

I can’t wait to go dancing tonight, it’ll be fun. I though about perhaps calling James up and seeing if he wanted to go, but Idunno if I will. I keep forgetting that he’s 18, I always think he’s only 16 for some reason, perhaps it’s because he hangs out with such young people, or maybe it’s just that he looks 16… Anyway I’d like to hang out with him at some point this weekend.

La, I’m off to read more about sniffing and stuff… I found out about this REALLY cook porgram that allows you to hide text documents within REAL jpeg images… It’s so cool!

Clubber

So I guess we’re going to go clubbing this weekend.. It should be fun. I hope that Mike’s going to be there… That’ll be fun.

Not much else is going on though lately. Today I put all of May 2001 into my database… hopefully tomorrow I’ll get July 2001 in. And then maybe for the end of the month I’ll get Aug in.

Adam seems to be distancing himself, yet again. I dunno what’s going on there… He’s on some, not much though. When he is on, he hardly tells me much. I mean, we talk, but when there’s a story.. It’s always, “I’ll tell you later.” I don’t want to know later, I want to know what’s going on now.

Then he says “I’ll be back on later” and never gets back on. Pht, whatever.

I’ve been putting in about an hour of biking every night, I’ll go to campus, ride around campus… Admiring all the hot bois that are on campus now, and then back to my Apartment. I’d guess it’s about 10-15 Miles total. I dunno though. My ass is so sore though from the damn seat.

I hope it doesn’t rain this weekend, or next week. I wanna ride my bike to school as much as possible, it’ll be good. It only takes me about 15 minutes to get to campus, so that’s faster then riding the bus. But once winter hits, I’ll have to take the damn bus…. I dunno how I’m going to work that out, with working and everything. We’ll see I guess.

I brought home my 60 Gig harddrive, but I haven’t really done much with it yet… Hopefully I’ll get it put in this weekend.

Adam’s going to come up and stay this weekend… Hopefully we’ll get some good bonding time in… I just feel like I’ve been excluded from everything lately, I have no Idea what’s going on in anyones life and it really sucks. I’m not liking this living in Ames thing. Not at all.

Welcome to the new and improved CjbOnline.org

Today Andy came in and complained that the server was slow, and that I was missing months in the archives… So I got the energy to move it over to a faster machine…

CjBOnline is now being hosted on a 450Mhz with 768 Megs of RAM. So things should be MUCH faster now.

I will be working on getting those older months up as well… Now that it won’t take 2 hours to post each post….

Now, I get to take home my 60gig hard drive and put all those damn MP3’s on it! YAY!

My Wall!

So they came and “fixed” my shower last week.

But it had still been doing the same thing… run for a while, and then shut off. It wasn’t really bothering me. I could at least take showers now with pressurized water, but this morning…

This morning I got up and went to take a shower. I went in there, turned on the water, got it to the temp that I want and turned it to the shower head.

Nothing.

So I turned it all off, and started again…

Nothing.

So I tried again, and still NOTHING!

I took a bath this morning. I was really pissed. So I call the repairman they said they’ll have to tear the wall out, and replace the whole thing, it’ll take a couple days. I said it’d be alright. They’ll start work on it tomorrow.

Finally, perhaps I’ll have a real working shower.

I’ve been looking into internships for next summer, perhaps even next semester. I applied to one at Apple, in Cupertino, CA Just south of SF. I doubt I’ll get it, but it’d be sweet if I did.

I’ve also been looking into Dell, HP, Compaq, and a couple other places. Unfortunatly, I’m going to pretty much have to leave Iowa. Unless I want an internship programming COBOL. Which I totally DON’T want to do.

It’s sad thinking about it really. That I’m going to have to leave for one at some point, leave everything here, for that 3-6 months. I don’t want to, but that’s all part of living… I was thinking that perhaps Adam could stay at my apartment while I’m gone, that way I don’t have to move out, whatever. It’s still a long ways down the road. I don’t want to get into that all yet.

Well the power just went out and I’m still typing on this.. I must go now though before my battery gets drained. Laters all!
