Cost Of Everything

It’s not a good way to start the day with 90% of our sites being down.

I’ve been struggling with a PL/SQL program for the last two days. I don’t know anything about this language so it’s very confusing for me. Though I showed MH some of the stuff I was doing (Because I forgot to put a (i) for my array variable, DUH!) and he said that it was pretty advanced, who knows? Seems easy then if someone like me can pump it out. lol

I broke down yesterday and bought a meal at Hardee’s (AKA Carl’s Jr.) yesterday. I’ve been craving it for so long and I just couldn’t hold myself back any longer! It was really yummy. Sometimes I miss fast food. lol.

Last night I was watching TV and there was a commercial for a Saturn Ion starting at $12,000. And it of course got me thinking about buying a new car again… At $10k cheaper then my current cheapest pick, it almost seems worth it to just get another damn Saturn. It’s the economy of the thing you know? This car got me 100,000 miles without any major defects. So assuming I’m going to use my next car, whatever it may be, for about 100,000 more miles it seems logical to just go for whatever would in the long run be the least cost per mile overall.

This is a major problem with me is that I think of everything as “What will it cost me in the smallest unit”. It’s very annoying sometimes! For example, my current car has cost a total of $.30 per mile. Which is including Purchase, Insurance and Registration but not including Maint costs. About $.06 of that is gas costs per mile. (The average cost per mile is up $.01 from last year though, and up $.02 from 2 years ago!).

There were a few other things I wanted to write about last night, but now I can’t remember them!

Old People

So, I went and saw BrokeBack again last night. I think that movie was even more amazing the second time around. Though, I did realize this time that there are some scenes in the trailer that aren’t in the movie! One I raelly feel they should have left in the movie. The one about working together and drinking together. I can’t wait for the DVD to come out and see what else they cut, and to see the cast talk bout the movie, etc. I was also a little annoyed that they didn’t do a very good job of making Ennis look like he aged much. They did a pretty good job with Jack Twist, but Ennis pretty much looked the same throughout the whole movie, except for his side burns got longer and wilder as he got older. But yeah.

Cause like at the end there’s a flashback to 1963, but the first time I totally missed that it was a flashback becuase it was hard to tell that they were like 20 years younger. Eitherway, it’d be nice if _I_ could age as well as they did in the movie! lol.

I was also really bored last night after getting home so I looked up people from my class on Myspace. I found Walzer and Amber. Walzer is still hot, in that “I’m military” hot. lol. Amber is crazy, apparently married and a kid. Random assness.

Blake keeps telling me that I have to buy him flying lessons… And well, as you should all know. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to learn how to fly. I used to be obsessed with Flight Simulator, and I’ve been wanting to buy a model plane for a while. But I’m really affraid of buying the model plane and then crashing the damn thing hard core. lol. I guess it’s something you take a chance on. I’ve heard you can go places and get lessons on model plane flying as well. Maybe I should look into that.

My ID!!!

Ok, so… Last night was great, after the initial problems!

So I get home at like 1:30 or so, go on my bike ride, come back and hang around talking to Blake for a while online. Then I go and shower and get dressed to go. Get a nice coat and shirt and put them in my car, so that they don’t get too wrinkled on the drive there. Make sure I have my camera, and my cell phone, some cough drops, altoids, and some cash to pay for parking.

Go out to my car and think… “I should get some water for the drive there cause traffic is going to be hellish”. So I go back in and get a bottle of water and then leave.

Traffic was hellish, 45 minutes to get there in stop and go traffic, all the fucking way. Blah! Get there and get out of my car, put on my shirt and grab my jacket. Go up to the window to get the tickets and she says. “I need to see a photo ID”. So I grab for my wallet… GONE!

So then I look in all my other pockets, I NEVER forget my wallet, it goes with me everywhere!

So I think maybe I left it in my car. So I run back to my car.. NOT THERE!.

So I start thinking about it, and I realize i never got it out of my pants that I wore to work. !!! OMG! I can’t believe it, It would have taken me an hour and a half at LEAST to get back home and back there, and south bound traffic was WORSE then the north bound! That means I would have missed cocktail hour AND the first course of dinner! So I txted OG to find out how far away he was to see if maybe he could just vouch for who I was.

However, MH got there first and we tried that, but the bitch wouldn’t buy it. That place is like nazis! So I called Jon, no answer, then I called Jeff, and he says that he can talk to the people at Club 33 and have them call the front desk and they can change it so that MH can have a guest and yeah. So like 40 minutes after I got there I was finially let into the damn park! It was crazyness.

So we get there and the party was lots of fun. GT mentioned that they had it at the Magic Castle 4 years ago, I voted we do it there next year too. lol. They had a magician there this year, but he NEVER came to the table I was at, very annoying! GT also said that he made $1,000 an HOUR! Clearly I’m in the wrong business! lol.

The food was amazing, the desserts were HEAVEN! And the drinks didn’t flow enough. lol. Though I did get pretty buzzed. I left there about 10:30 and got home at 11. Couldn’t get to sleep though and was up till midnight and then woke up again at 4:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I’ve been up since then. Blah!

I was a bit sad that I didn’t have anyone with me though. EVERYONE had a girlfriend or wife or something. The running joke was that MH and I were dates since he had to add me as a guest. lol. I really wish that Blake could have come… Well I wish more that I had an official boyfriend I could have taken!

Tech: Iou typed far too many letters for the word “password.” Did you type in “password” as your password?

Accountant on speaker: Yu never told me to do that.

Tech: So what part of my sentance confused you: “Type in the word

‘password’ when it asks you for your password”, or “I reset it for you, your password is now ‘password.'”

Accountant on speaker: I have a CPA, don’t talk to me like that.

Tech: I can make up acronyms too. I’ll be in your office in five

minutes. In the meantime, ponder this one: I’m OMGWTF certified.

Number 8

Well, Brokeback Mount opened at number 8 this weekend. Which is pretty good. I’m glad that it did so well.

Since I’ve been sick for like 5 days, I spent a lot of time planning invetstments for the next year. I’m really torn between what I should do with my money for next year. If all works out right, I’ll have about $20k to invest places. That is assuming I don’t buy a new car. But even if I do buy a new car, I’ve been thinking tha tmaybe I should still invest like $10k and use $10k for the down. That way I can build some credit since I’ve never had a car loan.

Anyways, I’m torn between what to invest in. I’d really like to get some physical real estate under my belt. But since I can’t afford a house here, that would mean buying a house somewhere else and renting it out, or buying land up and just holding it for a while. I’m not really sure I’m ready for the whole landlord shit. I know what my dad went through with that. It can be hellish. Unless you hire a management company, but then your profits take a hit from that. And if I’m only going to have one or two places, then it’s a big thing. Land would be good, but where, and what. I’d have to find land that would go up enough to compenstate for the interest rates and tax charges, etc. Land values nationwide are expected to climb 6% next year, which wouldn’t cover the interest or tax rates.

I did however find a nice 700 acre spot in western Montana at about $500 an acre, and if you know anything about me, you should know that I want to retire to a nice big ranch in Montana. Though, I’m guessing that it’s not the most pristine area. I just think it’d be fun to say that I own 700 acres! haha.

The other option is of course the stock market. But then to choose betwen actual stocks, and mutual/bond funds, etc. Blah, so much to do, and so little money to do it with!

Last night’s family guy and simpsons were very entertaining.

I have only 100 pages left to “The Confusion” Yay!

Tonight’s the Company party. Umm, Yep. I was thinking last night and on the whole 7th floor, I’m the ONLY single boy here now! MH just went to Pakistan and married his wife. So I’m the only single person left. 🙁 And I can only think of one or two people on the 15th that are single. Blah! Blake, why can’t you come?! Get your ass down here. lol

Stay away from the mall!

OMG, so I made the mistake of being bored and wanting to go to the mall…

It fucking took 30 minutes just to get into the damn parking lot…. And then another 20 of driving around looking for a parking spot, before i just gave up and went home.

I really wanted to get new glasses today before going home for the holidays too. 🙁 Oh well.

I’ve decided that crown royal and hot chocolate is really yummy. 😀
