So, this morning I came up to the office in SM for the first time in like 2 or 3 weeks. It’s been a while, I’ve been busy! Anyways, apparently I leave and all hell breaks lose. They are CLOSING this office. For anyone that follows this blog, you know that they just spent TONS AND TONS of money moving everyone from the 3 offices we had here in SM over to one big office with all new everything!
Well it came down last week that they are closing this office. Most people are apparently going to be gone by the end of July, with some of them staying on to close out completely before the end of the year. So far from what I’ve heard is that only a small handful of people are staying on with the company and moving to New York! Thank god I’m not a direct contractor or employee of PHS. But this really makes me scared now to know what my employer is going to do! We have yet to hear anything about it in our offices. I have a meeting set up with our VP for early next week for my yearly review, so I’ll have to bring it up then and find out what’s going on!
I guess this really does mean that I will have to be moving down to the OC because now there is no reason to stay in LA since I won’t even have an office up here! Perhaps it’s time for a new job? But I don’t really want to do that. I want to stay for my 5 years here at min. Plus if I do have to go through the whole mess of getting a new job, I want to move out of the state…. Although, as I was talking with someone the other day. This state has grown on me. I’d be sad to leave it now! Such a turn around from 3 years ago! haha.
In other news, I went out and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End last night. My god it was LONG and boring.. Way tooo much “blah blah blah” going on in that movie! But it was good to get out and see a movie, even if I did have to go alone. And BTW, everyone says that the theaters at South Bay Galleria are supposed to be so great, but they were crap!
In boy news, Andrew has recently been posting a bunch of crap and incorrect things and blaming me on his blog that’s really annoying. If he’s not even going to talk to me and just forget that we had so many years of friendship then I really don’t think he should even be talking about me in the public light. Ugh! Boys. Plus it’s been nearly a month since I last heard from Ben and that too is very annoying. I was thinking about calling him soon cause I still have his f’ing jacket.
Although I will have to agree with Andrew on one point. Why was it so much easier to date back then and where is my next “Andrew”. UGH! I’m sooo sick of dating and getting dumped and shit. Blah!
I’ve been getting a huge response to my write up about ALC. I’ve really been enjoying sharing the experience with everyone. I just wish that more people could really experience it!
Sorry to hear about the work situation. I hope you’ll be able to find something, and who knows, the VP may be able to help.
I agree regarding the 3rd Pirates movie. Boring and long, though it had some redeeming qualities. Just not very many. Did you stick around for the tag ending after the credits?
As for the boy troubles, well, you can’t live with ’em, you can’t be ’em with a stick without landing in jail. You’ll pull through.
Thanks. Just to be clear though, it doesn’t mean that I’m going to lose my job. Infact, I haven’t done any work for this client in months. But it does mean we will be losing a major source of our income! So who knows what’s going to happen! Though I talked with someone who said we have 3 year contracts with the clients that use the software that my company writes and supports. So we’ll have to see what happens!
No, I didn’t stick around! I wish I had known there was something else! I hate when they do that!
And yeah. Boys are stupid. I just have to get back out there on the market!
