Where Are We GOING!?!

I know i haven’t really done much of a real entry lately, but not much has really been going on. I’ve been working alot and doing other random stuff. Trying to get packed for the trip to Mexico and also for the trip this weekend. Classes have been classes and as I said my HIST prof is totally crazy.

Anyways, the weekend has been pretty fun. Friday night I went out with Justin again. We went to the frathouse and had a really good time. It was free drinks tell 11, and free cover. So we both got fairly tipsy before 11. I stopped drinking after that but he kept on going. He was pretty smashed by the time we left at 12:30. I drove him home and as I was dropping him off we hugged, and then he leaned out and started to come back in for what I thought was another hug. But he gave me a kiss on the lips.

I was like, “Ok, I think you need to go to bed.” He called me on my way home and appologised and also told me the next day that he felt really bad about it. I told him not to worry, no harm done. And also he was pretty damn drunk, so I associate it to that.

Anyways, I drove home and stayed up for a while talking to Andrew and then went to bed. I slept in pretty late Saturday, but got up and went to DM. Turned in my app to Old Navy, and the manager was like, “Let me ask you a few questions” So i wa slike, alright… Then she goes “Ten words that describe yourself” and I was like, “Ummm, I have no clue.” I did get 5 out though, and that sucked.

Then like as soon as I walked out the door I was like, “THE SCOUT LAW!” Damnit, Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courtesy, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, reverent. Hello! There’s twelve right there. Dmanit. I was so annoyed at myself for that.

But I really hope I get the job. I mean, it’s a mindless job, but I think it’ll be fun. Plus extra money and good discounts on the super fabulous clothes they have!

After that I drove to VWM and picked up my suit then broke for home.

Sat around home all day reading business case studies and shit. Found out that Orange County is the number 2 inflated home prices in the country. Also read a hilarious 101 stupidest corporate activites too. Very amusing. I was going to post it here, but you have to pay to read it. Bastards.

Anyways, after that I sat around. Justin and I talked online and he invited me to a movie, and even offered to pay. it was super nice of him. We went and saw EuroTrip, which has two super hot boys in it. And we get to see thier asses! Holla! It was really funny too. I enjoyed it.

After the movie we went to El Rodeo and I had fried ice cream and we sat and talked and shit. It was good times. from there we went and drove around. He tried getting me lost, but actually got himself lost. Good thing I knew where I was going. He was just giving me directions and I was following them. We ended up at Saylorville and just drove around and stuff. Yet again, good times.

Drove him home and then I went home.

Today has been a long day. got up, did stuff, came home, cleaned, studied for Strategic Management class, read more business case studies (I’m a case study whore!) then did a strat analysis on Mandrake soft.

Now i’m here, and I’m going to go lay down. I have a bit of a headache.

The Paper Is Due…

THREE YEARS FROM NOW!

So today’s been pretty good. Class was a complete waste. Went in and she just babbled the whole time about how you should read a book and how she got through grad school. Then she told us that she’s never even read the entire book for this book report. We were all like great.

Then she was like, “Oh and I’m cancelling the last book report” and the one due for today isn’t due tell April 1st now. Great. Oh well I turned it in early anyways.

She also cancelled class for Friday April 2nd, which means I get to leave Thursday right after classes now… How exciting is that!

Woot.

I love her, I wish all my profs were as crazy as she is.

After she blabed forever she talked about drag queens in the 1920’s. Then she let us go.

I came back to work and the phone girl and I ordered pizza, it was only $2.50 each. Yummy yummy!

Then a meeting, and now I’m really tired. I want to leave work early, but I know I should stay and actually work on things. We’ll see though.

Stupid Patents

I know I’ve bitched about this before, but here’s a list of the top stupid IT patents.

Just go read some of the summarys and understand how stupid they are!

Notice that Amazon is on the top.

In other news, I haven’t really been up to much. Got my second 1600 word paper done, and shit, then I’ve been applying to more jobs, nothing new back.

Been doing some call backs on those as well.

Got MythTV set up. My own cute little PVR. Now I’m in the process of installing all the plugins, which have hellish dependencies. So that’s going to take a while. I also need to get a longer cable cable, so that I can have TV in my bedroom/on my computer. I’ve been wanting to re-arrange again, but I don’t know if I’ll get around to that or not. We’ll see I guess.

I have tests next week.

And one week from today, I’ll be in CALI! Woot! 6Days 13Hours, 11Minutes tell I land there.

Also:
Spring Break: 15 Days; 2 hours; 41 minutes till liftoff from DSM
Andrew’s Spring Break: 36 Days; 15 hours; 10 minutes
Graduation: 71 Days; 5 hours; 10 minutes
Move to Cali: 154 Days!

So yeah. Laters all.

Edit://
YAY! I just broke the $2500 in savings limit… I will NOT let it drop below that amount now. Considering it’s going to cost me about $2,000 just to fucking MOVE!

How Bout You Make Some Sense?

LETTER: Keep the dignity of marriage licenses

Are we defending the “definition of a marriage license” or are we, as some would like to claim, “discriminating,” by denying financial benefits rights married couples have?

Is that what all this is coming down to — money? Because no one is taking away non-married people’s ability to live under one roof.

Discriminating means you cannot infringe upon someone’s right to life and liberties — or someone’s ability to live and do the best you can do in this country. And if you can’t do it on your own, there are organizations that are willing to help.

But within that phrase, no one is guaranteed a certain place to live in a certain upscale neighborhood, no one is guaranteed a $50,000 minimum salary job, no one is guaranteed a retirement package. If you want this, you have to work harder than everyone else, and some people have.

Many people have worked hard for degrees, certifications and licenses. To say that everyone else has the rights to the same benefits these licensed people have worked for is discrimination.

As a student with disabilities, I have also worked hard to graduate from civil engineering and will pursue my professional engineering license. That license will mean a lot to me, because I know what the license will stand for and how hard I had to work for it. The level of standards for a professional engineer is very high and will not be lowered for me, even if I have a disability. The only accommodation I can receive is longer testing time and a quiet place, but I still have to pass the same test.

I also know what it means to have a marriage license. Being married to the opposite sex is not easy. You have to work at it everyday for it to be successful, and I have successfully made my marriage work, to the opposite sex, for 20 years.

Gay people say they tried, but couldn’t do it because they where not sexually attracted to them. Well, let me tell you, 20 years of marriage has not been based on sexual attraction — it’s been hard work to overcome obstacles as they arise between two different people of two different sexes.

And now you want to tell me all my hard work means nothing and that my license should be lowered to not require a man and a woman union.

No one’s going to lower my professional engineering license for my disability, and that’s not considered discrimination, nor should it be.

But it’s discrimination when I don’t want my marriage license lowered?

You know. I have aboslutely NO IDEA what this woman is talking about. Can someone explain to me!

It seems as though she’s saying she’s had to work hard in her relationship or that she’s not sexually attracted to her partner. Or that we as homosexuals should just work HARDER or pretending to like the opposite sex…What a fucking moron this woman is.

Anyways, today’s been boring. And that’s my date.

“I’m Stupid, What About Group Marriges”

God, so last night I watched Larry King Live, and it was the funniest thing I’ve EVER seen. They had on there, The mayor of SF, a stupid republican who introduced the amendment, some idiot pastor and a hot hot gay boy, named Chad.

Anyways, it was very funny and everytime the rep would talk to the mayor, she’d be like, “What about group marriges, why aren’t you allowing those” and that was like the ONLY thing she said the whole time… Well that and saying that she was “Following the law”. She also said that the courts were stupid. Only in like 100 times more words!

The pastor was an idiot and everyone kept getting on him about seperation of church and state, and he just didn’t seem to get that idea, because everytime they talked to him he was like, “The bible says” or “God did this” or “Thye’re sinners, theywon’t get into heaven” To which Larry King said, “What if they don’t want into heaven, shouldn’t we let them get married while they are here on earth”.. That was a really good come back I thought.

The homo was kinda quiet, but really cute. And when he did speak he had really good points. No one could really rebut him…

I think this little snipit is REALLY good:

KING: All right, John, let me — let me move to other members of the panel. We have four members of the panel. I want to get everyone in. John, what do you say to those who say, What about Chad and the love of his life being together? Isn’t that better than, say, the heterosexual marriage where one of the partners cheats? Who is contributing more to the moral decay of the society, the adulterous husband with the female wife or the loving gay couple who don’t do that?

MACARTHUR: Yes, well, you’re asking me to do something I really can’t do, and make a judgment on which sin is better or worse than the other. We’ve suffered in this country from adultery, divorce, the abuse of children, pedophilia, you name it. I’m not going to classify those in rank. They’re sins, and they destroy the family. KING: And homosexuality is…

MACARTHUR: And homosexuality…

KING: … a sin to you.

MACARTHUR: Yes. And…

KING: Therefore, it’s a choice.

MACARTHUR: It’s a choice you make. It’s a sinful choice.

KING: Did you make a choice to be heterosexual?

MACARTHUR: I don’t think I had to make a choice to be heterosexual. I think that’s a natural thing.

KING: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. In other words, one is a choice and one is not?

MACARTHUR: Yes.

KING: So he was unlucky and you’re…

MACARTHUR: Because — because you’re not talking about — because it’s natural to be heterosexual. That’s built…

KING: What do you mean by natural?

MACARTHUR: Well, I mean, that’s the way God made us. That’s the normal…

KING: But if he doesn’t feel that way, what is he, then? He’s not a sinner. It wasn’t his decision.

MACARTHUR: Yes, I think it was his decision.

ALLEN: I would love, absolutely love for the pastor to point out for me when in my life I made that decision because I have to tell you, it caused a lot of pain in my family. It caused a lot of pain to me. It’s a very, very tough thing that I had to go through. I don’t remember making that decision. If I did, maybe can you point it out, but that wasn’t the case for me.

(CROSSTALK)

ALLEN: It’s who I am. You also said that it was in the fabric of the human being that — to understand that marriage was between a man and a woman and that’s what family was. It must not be because it’s not in the fabric of what who I am. It’s not the way I see it. I think families come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

MACARTHUR: Well, let me respond this way, Chad, and say it had to be in the fabric of humanity or you wouldn’t be here.

ALLEN: I believe that reproduction is. I’ll give you that. I absolutely believe that reproduction is. However, I think family, the definition of family and the definition of reproduction are very, very different things.

You can go read the whole transcript here.

It really was a good debate. And I was switching between that and the debate over exporting jobs in congress, which was also a good job. Apparently Bush wants to make McDonald type jobs a “manufacturing” job so that he can inflate the number of “manyfacturing” jobs in the US, since we have had the greatest loss during his presidency. The two democrats that were talking about it called it, “Traditional Manufacturing” and “McManufacturing”.

Speaking of McDonalds, did you all know that they also own Fazolis and Boston Market. Crazyness I do say! So now we can’t eat there anymore either. 🙁 Oh well. Not like I ate there alot anyways.

Anyways, before I did all of that, I wrote the first half of my second 1600 word paper. It’s going much better then the first paper, and I should be able to easily finish it tonight. Hopefully I’ll do as good on this one as I did on the last one. I’d like to get an A in that class… So far I’m on track to do that… I’ve got 22 out of the possible 25 points in there.

Umm, I didn’t do much else yesterday. My life is pretty boring as of late, same old stuff going on.

Though, I AM going to Cali in less then 9 days! Woot!

Anyways. I should go work now.
