Get it here.

New Features:

  • show_private_posts() is now a widget
  • Merged with Partial Private Post (See below)

This plugin is a full featured private post management interface. It allows you to manage all private post’s publishing status via the “Manage” admin menu. It also provides the function “show_private_posts()” which can be used on the main page to list recent private posts (This can be used as either a function call or a widget). It uses the option ‘posts_per_page’ to determine how many recent private posts to display.

Installation is easy:

  • Upload privatepost.php to your ‘wordpress/wp-content/plugins’
  • Enable the plugin in your admin section
  • Go to ‘Options > PrivatePost’ and select the category which contains your “Private Posts” (Optional)
  • Set your “Private” indicator (Can be txt or image)
  • Set your Private RSS feed (This is updated anytime a post is made public). Make sure it is writable by your server.
  • Add it to your sidebar

That’s it you’re done!

Upcoming:

Partial Private

Has been MERGED into above plugin

This plugin allows you to have just a chunk of your post be private by enclosing it in: [Private Content Removed] . You can also manage these entries from the Manage Page in the Admin section.

Installation is easy:

  • Upload partialprivate.php to your ‘wordpress/wp-content/plugins’

  10. I’m not sure I’m doing the private thing right, what kind of access to you give to people on your site to let them see thep private posts.

  11. Are you using any caching? IE wp-cache or wp-super-cache? I have found that using those does not work.

    Thanks,
    Cj B

  12. I’ve tried it again and I can see the post logged in but logging in under another name I can’t. I can however (under the other user) see the post in the sidebar but you can’t click on it.

  13. That’s correct. The posts in the sidebar are never clickable and you should only be able to see the posts as the user who posted them.

  14. Chris,
After loading the Digg plugin, I noticed that it used my domain name instead of digg.com when creating outbound links to the articles dugg under the account entered.
    Any ideas?

  15. Hi. It seems that there is a problem with the Partial Private Plugin. Last night it was perfectly fine but now, all I can see is the [Private Content Removed] and I’m the administrator. I can only see it if I edit my entries.
